Laughing out loud

Let's talk about the voices of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, in fact, let's compare him go every bit of Spidey VO there is across all forms of media.

It's going to be okay. If you need someone to hold your hand during these turbulent times, Donald Trump is here for you.

As long as you're white.

This. It amazes me that people think that Ironman was hanging with Thor while Thor wasn't even serious and casually crushing Tony's armguantlets.

The look on Tony's face as Thor just casually crushes the armor in his hand is like, "What the fuck?!"
Tony wasn't ready to hang with that if Thor actually got pissed.

Am I the only one who didn't realize that last shot of Spider-Man was CG? lol. I think it looks pretty damn good if it is.

Very well animated, and you can see the weight in that superhero landing and notice details like his face moving as he talks. Looked really well done. The hi res version shows the material of the suit and the wrinkles in said material.

Will look even better on that big ass theater screen. Going so bright with that saturation of color will make him seem cartoon like but fuck it I want a bright and colorful Spidey. You're not the only one who wasn't able to tell he was CG btw. However, don't feel out of the loop, because I don't think that being able to tell something is CG makes it bad CG.

I can tell when pretty much all these characters are swapped out for CG, that shouldn't be the barometer for how good or bad it is though. But more so how believable it is. Kind of tough when we don't have a live action suit to compare it to.

I was prepared for the Ant-Man arrow to be the hypest thing in that trailer. Didn't expect them to show Spider-Man, expected a hint at most, like webbing shooting in from offscreen and pulling something.

You know what would of been nuts?

If Marvel, Sony and Disney never announced their deal regarding Spiderman and this trailer ended up as the first time we ever heard or saw Spiderman being the MCU.

"This doesn't have to end in a fight, Tony"

"You are right, let's sit down and talk this out"

*Steve backhands Tony for trash talking the '27 Yankees*

"I tried to be Civil, but you just started a War!"

Is it weird that I'm way more excited for Black Panther than I am for Spidey? I thought his intro in the trailer was weird too. Super serious heavy trailer with heavy music and then... a joke and "Hey guys!"

Are people really writing off this Spider-man based off less than five seconds of footage and two seconds of dialogue? Haha come on.

Absolutely not. The overall reaction all across the freaking internet is mass excitement. Have a look around. This shit is amazing.

Movies:
Andrew >>> Tobey
Tobey just sounds bored or sad at all times. Andrew had energy.

Cartoons:
Chris Barnes > Josh Keaton > Drake Bell
I like Chris' acting better and I also like his greater range. He can speak with authority in his voice in one scene, and sarcastic humor in the next very well. Makes Spidey sound simultaneously heroic and vulnerable. I tend to like older Spideys in general anyway. Keaton's quality of voice is really solid though and sounds very appropriate for the character, instantly recognizable. Young and a bit nerdy without taking it too far. Drake sounds good for a very young Parker but it's just a little too young for me, a little too far.

I like Dan Gilvezan as 2099 but not so much as 616.

I haven't read this whole thread but did anyone else notice that Black Panther has a retractable cape? It's very subtle and very brief but you can briefly see it.

First impressions are everything. It's not like the movie is out so we can discuss more than the five seconds of footage and two seconds of dialogue.

Drake Bell only works as a younger Spider-Man, & that's only because he had years to grow into the role. I can't see him as an older Spidey. Likewise, I can see Christopher Daniel Barnes does a great Adult Spidey but I can't see him voicing Peter as a teenager. Josh Keaton is the only one who fits for both Spider-Man as a teenager & as an adult.

Also, Comic Book Cast noticed this about Spidey's eyes.

I would hope so. Different opinions and all, I'm usually jaded about these projects but I thought that intro for Spider-man was pitch perfect. He isn't going to be the guy saying foreboding and cryptic lines in a trailer. He's a teenager. I absolutely loved the casual "Hey everyone."

Not that accurate, the eyes weren't that huge of a difference at all. If anything Romita was just more consistent with the size of Spider-Man's eyes.

The Spiderman costume looks cool to me, but the voice over sounds kinda goofy. The thing with his eyes is cool as hell. It's something I wish Snyder did for Batman.

Eh, do the eyes really emote, or enlarge and shrink on size?

I suppose it will be enough to get across certain expressions, but it's not quite as extreme or expressive as Deadpool who had a full range of emotions with his eyes. They were able to turn and move all kinds of ways.
