This was my initial thought as well, but it's a way different situation. Obama had attended Wright's church years before campaigning. This would be like if Obama had Rev. Wright introduce him on the campaign trail.

Not even remotely similar. Have you actually read what Rev. Wright said? It's harsh, and possibly controversial if your head is in the sand, but he certainly didn't advocate murder. Quite the opposite.
