Massive ongoing protest in Chicago makes Trump "postpone" his event

More from Associated Press. Trump has been caught out in a massive lie. This is all manipulation.

"A spokesman for the Chicago Police Department says the agency never recommended that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump cancel his campaign rally in the city.

CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi tells The Associated Press that the department never told the Trump campaign there was a security threat at the University of Illinois at Chicago venue. He said the department had sufficient manpower on the scene to handle any situation.

Guglielmi says the university's police department also did not recommend that Trump call off the event. He says the decision was made "independently" by the campaign.

Trump cancelled the rally in Chicago due to what organizers said were safety concerns after protesters packed into the arena where it was to take place.

Trump afterward told MSNBC in a telephone interview that he canceled the event because he didn't "want to see people hurt or worse." He said he thinks he "did the right thing."

Guglielmi says Trump never arrived at the Chicago venue."

Wow, they just played the announcement that the event will be postponed.

"Go in peace."

And that was it. Just left everyone there, no instructions for safe and orderly exit, no nothing.

Trump, you pussy.

Why else pick a deep blue city (the current Democratic president's home ground even) a couple of days before an extremely important event in the primaries?

He sucked all the oxygen out of the room again, apparently got to hit some of his rally points in his interviews on national TV, made his supporters feel fearful and victimized (which works particularly well with his type of supporters) and now gets to talk about "left-wing politically correct intolerance", a major theme of his campaign.

I definitely feel this is a calculated move.

That's...actually a compelling argument...

I can't be the only one entertaining the notion that there is some fuckery on behalf of the GOP establishment trying to sink Trump at work here.

Stop spreading hate by rioting in the streets? I'm pretty sure that will have the opposite effect

Did i say RIOTING AND RIOTING ONLY SHOULD CONTINUE. or is op about a protest?

Trump/gop is the party of hate.

I know it's the automatic assumption when there's brown people in the streets. But no, just stop the shit from happening because in the context, the gop is just promoting hate, and it's supporters are attacking people. Because they are bigots.

Racists are cowards. That's why this has been underground for so long. An effort should be made to stop their little hate gatherings whenever it's in town. Go back underground.

Hopefully there will be a chance to stop this shit if the hate party comes to Los angeles. Fuck hate. There is no room in this country for it. The gop stoked these fires of violence and hate. So being present at their little fests will hopefully continue to shut them down.

Considering the state of relations with minorities. The usa is already an official "opposite effect." For brownies. Protesting is about all anyone can do. And should.

He did say the cops told him to close it on CNN. Multiple times. And he said how he was praised for doing it.

I do think Trump had some ulterior motive to having this rally where it was. Everyone brought up what an odd place it was to have a rally, because it would be almost begging protesters to show.

Trump is playing everyone like a fiddle with this. The violence at his rallies was starting to gain traction. Even Foxnews was starting to turn the light onto what kind of crazy shit was going on.

Now the narrative for days will be protests in Chicago and how he is the victim. Which is why more than ever Chicago needs to keep this shit as peaceful as they can. Idiots who cause violence or incidents will feed the narrative.

I mean when Foxnews on the ground was interviewing both sides and they were calm and being peaceful it was like a knife stabbing into the narrative Trump wants to establish.

Ay bro speak for ya mothafuckin self. I've never been accused of such and never will be again. Thanks and keep that bullshit to yourself. I'm proud of my upbringing, my social circles, my friends, and the fact that me and mine never have or will judge someone negatively based on race or deny someone an opportunity because of race.

If you have something to come clean about homie, the floor is yours. But keep the whataboutisms to yourself.

Preach brother

My groomsmen were a Persian guy, a French-Canadian, a 6'5 black doctor with dreadlocks, and an Ecuadorian. Get out of here with that everyone is equally racist nonsense.

It's part of what Maddow was articulating, incite angry responses with your rhetoric, and then come off as a leader who can deal with the latent anger in America.

Two lies:

1) He said repeatedly in post-cancelation interviews that the Chicago PD recommended the cancellation.

2) The campaign spokesman who announced the cancellation said that Trump had already arrived at the venue at the time the cancellation was announced. Now we learned that Trump wasn't even there.

Definitely some fuckery going on.

From Trump's own statement:

"Mr. Trump just arrived in Chicago and after meeting with law enforcement has determined that for the safety of all of the tens of thousands of people that have gathered in and around the arena, tonight’s rally will be postponed to another date. Thank you very much for your attendance and please go in peace.”

Of course they wouldn't acknowledge this publicly. Chicago has a storied history of large protests. You won't see the Police say that they told someone to not have a rally because of a protest. Saying that would show that they are yielding to the protests. This would be a nudge nudge wink wink kind of thing. Where Trump is made aware that they don't have the manpower if something breaks out. So he cancels.

Trump is like the American version of Berlusconi

I would warn against not taking him seriously. He is responsible for the violence we've seen at his rallies recently. Berlusconi was hilariously harmless, Trump is proveably dangerous.
