Massive ongoing protest in Chicago makes Trump "postpone" his event

Two lies:

1) He said repeatedly in post-cancelation interviews that the Chicago PD recommended the cancellation.

2) The campaign spokesman who announced the cancellation said that Trump had already arrived at the venue at the time the cancellation was announced. Now we learned that Trump wasn't even there.

Definitely some fuckery going on.
I stand corrected
Agree with you

From Associated Press:

"Spokesman for Chicago Police Department says agency never recommended Trump cancel campaign rally"

More from Associated Press. Trump has been caught out in a massive lie. This is all manipulation.

"A spokesman for the Chicago Police Department says the agency never recommended that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump cancel his campaign rally in the city.

CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi tells The Associated Press that the department never told the Trump campaign there was a security threat at the University of Illinois at Chicago venue. He said the department had sufficient manpower on the scene to handle any situation.

Guglielmi says the university's police department also did not recommend that Trump call off the event. He says the decision was made "independently" by the campaign.

Trump cancelled the rally in Chicago due to what organizers said were safety concerns after protesters packed into the arena where it was to take place.

Trump afterward told MSNBC in a telephone interview that he canceled the event because he didn't "want to see people hurt or worse." He said he thinks he "did the right thing."

Guglielmi says Trump never arrived at the Chicago venue."

I'm gonna need you to hold this, Mr. Drumpf.

Trump is playing everyone like a fiddle with this. The violence at his rallies was starting to gain traction. Even Foxnews was starting to turn the light onto what kind of crazy shit was going on.

Now the narrative for days will be protests in Chicago and how he is the victim. Which is why more than ever Chicago needs to keep this shit as peaceful as they can. Idiots who cause violence or incidents will feed the narrative.

I mean when Foxnews on the ground was interviewing both sides and they were calm and being peaceful it was like a knife stabbing into the narrative Trump wants to establish.

Correctomundo.

Ted Cruz now on CNN blaming the protestors for refusing to let Trump speak.

People will see this as a black people and left-wing protest, wounded police officers, etc., and Trump will go up in the polls. Watch it. Especially since this is in Chicago.

This. Fucking disgraceful behavior from some of these protesters. MLK is turning in his grave.

I would warn against not taking him seriously. He is responsible for the violence we've seen at his rallies recently. Berlusconi was hilariously harmless, Trump is proveably dangerous.
Not sure if I entirely agree with him being responsible for other peoples' actions but I agree the thought of him being President sends shivers down my spine
Kasich would be a much better choice

I can't be the only one entertaining the notion that there is some fuckery on behalf of the GOP establishment trying to sink Trump at work here.

If this was the GOPs doing, it's profoundly misjudged. Trump is going to spend the next several days talking about how the wild urban youths shut down his event because millenials hate free speech, and Republican voters who have been conditioned on this messaging for years now are going to eat it up.

This is my concern, that it only helps him look better.

Helps him look better to who? Republicans maybe but this doesn't make him look good to wary independents and minorities. Protesting Trump to such a large degree isn't about how he looks but energizing the left and Democrats which I think it will.

Those clips are disheartening. How can some people hold this much hatred towards another human being over the color of their skin, or different beliefs. Just shameful.

This is not an honest post.

Trump said he'd pay for the legal fees of violent actions by his protestors.

Are u aware of that?

He just railed against political correctness and then condemned a protester for using the middle finger...

This is fucking unbelievable all around.

Sure hope you're right. He and his supporters had no way to spin being victims but he could spin stuff like this in the wrong way.

If you can stomach it, I'd heartily suggest that you watch the Maddow segment that started about 6 minutes ago from beginning to end.

If you're inciting people, like he is, then yes, he is responsible.

If I encourage my son to hit kids at school and he does it, I'm ultimately responsible.

After #TheTriggering I'm so fucking happy to see Chi town come through and shut shit down. All these "safe places" that these POS were talking about on Twitter and now all of a sudden, don't like when their "safe place" is disrupted. You reap what you sow. Freedom of speech goes both ways! Good job Chicago and UIC Students!! Show them WHAT makes America great! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
