Videogame facts that blow your mind (SuperMarioBros. SHOCKING SECRET INSIDE p #70)

He's not saying that Wart
is the Windfish or the nightmare, just that Wart is able to exist in the game because the windfish is dreaming and that, as it is Warts only other appearance in a game, it is also in a dream.

Ooooooh. For some reason I thought that
Link was dreaming the whole thing
. And I misread his first post lol.

Concept designs of the Nintendo DSi Logo, posted by mehdi_san in this thread.

Right side:
Nintendo DS Eye? Never thought about that. Mind breathed upon.

Its obviously not too shocking as they probably only brainstormed about the logo but somehow interesting nonetheless.

On a similar note, snaking was actually designed to be in Mario Kart Wii

I don't know if this has been posted before but the golf courses on Wii Sports were ripped off from the original Nintendo Golf game for the NES. Watch it here:

WiiSports Golf:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Af8ztHlsFy0

NES Golf:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nr5kgQJq5BM

Pay attention to the first hole on both videos. The 2nd on hole on wii sports (0:50) is the
3rd hole on nes golf (3:08). You can see some other holes in there and if you actually play the NES Golf game you see that all nine holes from wiisports were taken from the NES game.

CHOCOBO!

The wings on the side of the dino with the forward stretched neck makes me wonder, is Mario riding one of those things that drop the bob-ombs in SMB2US there? :o

I think so.

Are we sure it's Mario kart Wii, where they actually removed it, and not Mario Kart DS?
I mean the design of Mario's kart looks like its DS design

Not to mention every single piece of concept art is drawn across two boxes (representing screens?).

To add to the Kangaskhan/Cubone theory, apparently in the period before the anime and games were released in the US Cubone had the prototype name Orphon. Note that I got this info from bulbapedia, so I don't know how legit it is. Still think it's neat.

Cubone/Kangaskan theories aside, MissingNo. doesn't have shit to do with it. It's just the name the game has for a couple of the instances when you load non-Pokemon data into where the game expects a Pokemon.

Oh man I'm dumb!
I didn't see that...
Thinking again, it does NOT depict snaking but is actually the storyboard for the vid when you get the trophies at the end of a cup in Mario Kart DS.
The line intertwining indicate the movements of the karts and all

I've read a bunch of this thread but didn't see it mentioned. Just playing through Legend of Zelda to the end for the first time now and came across the flute. I couldn't believe it when I heard it play the exact same tune as the warp whistle from Mario Bros 3.

That was my mini "mind blown" moment. After all these years, I had never made it far enough Legend of Zelda to hear this.

Exactly. They are the paths of the 2nd and 3rd place racers, they move around the winner.
It's not snaking.

Did anyone remark that the sound of Super Mario shrinking back to mario is the same sound of him going down the pipe?
I think it's pretty obvious. Bet you didn't know the Goomba-squashing sound is the same as Mario's swimming sound either.

The reason people speculate is because the most 'infamous' version of Missingno. (The Cinnabar Island glitch) actually evolves into Kangaskhan simply by leveling it up.

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned somewhere (kinda hard to find now though). Of course it's the other way round, but for me it was exactly like you said, since I played Super Mario Bros. 3 before The Legend of Zelda.

Two things releated to Sonic the hedgehog.

That hanging toy looks like sonic, right?

Rad Mobile, known as Gale Racer for the Sega Saturn port, is an arcade racing game which was released in 1990 using the Sega System 32 platform. It was Sega's first System 32 game and is also the first game which Sonic the Hedgehog appeared in.
The very first sonic game was released in 1991, june 23rd in the US and EU areas (japan had a later launch date) so it's rather interesting that sonic was in another game before his own :lol

This one may have appeared in this thread already but I don't remember, but Sonic & Mario were also in Mega Turrican as part of the background for the first stage but they were never used, their art still exists in the tile set though.

I don't get it. Did he just beat a boss?
Yes. If he stepped further into the room, Kamek would have sprinkled fairy dust on the boss and turned it into a huge monster plant that requires multiple hits to take down. However, the player was able to kill the enemy while it was still in its regular form, which seems like a glitch except the game fully acknowledges it. MGS3, eat your heart out.

It's an easter egg in the game. Normally Kamek swoops down and turns the tiny enemy into a monster. But with just this one, you can sneak it onto screen and kill it before Kamek shows up. Kamek's surprised and zooms off, and you skip the fight.

the Orphon name is legit. i had a poster with the prototype names because the poster somehow showed up in a magazine before the games came out and the names were changed later for some pokes.

i would scan it but i FUCKIN' DESTROYED IT BACK THEN LOL :(
i thought it was crap because it didn't have the actual names so i cut it up and stuff and now i want to go back in time and kick myself hard.

Not really mind blowing, but the logos for Prope and The Process are incredibly similar:

Theres a Process near me that sports an orange colored version of the logo, but the website uses brown.

:lol It happens. I do remember seeing a video at Target that was showing Pokemon on it, and it had Ratata's name as Ratatak.

Probably no biggie, but haven't seen it mentioned anywhere; the DSi has the same brightness control the Game Boy Micro has, just with a different button press (hold select and use the volume arrows to adjust).

Thankfully someone did keep a copy as a list of the names can be found here.. It is funny how (mainly the water types) lean a bit more toward mythology (Ness, Neptune) and lack a of the puns/play on words.

WAITAMINUTE. Does people saying the Draygon thing is new to them mean you can kill draygon without using the grappling hook on the electrical nodes? If so; mind blown.
