On my birfday, nice
So My Nintendo also starts the 17th?
Judging by the lack of replies to this thread it looks like GAF people aren't really interested?
Can't wait to download it, give it a little try and then never touch it again.

Nope, I'm super interested. Nintendo on my iPhone? Day One!!!
In Japan. Everyone else will have to wait a little bit longer.
It seems it's concurrent, but I'd like to know for sure as well. I've been holding off on eShop purchases until we've seen what the new account rewards system is like.
They... have the technology....
If my eshop purchases from whatever date Club Nintendo ended until now don't earn me some kind of "coins" or whatever the fuck, I will be beyond pissed. beyond.
I NEVER call CS and give a hard time, as I have worked support for many years, but in this case I will. Not acceptable.
Exaftly this. I'm not worried, I know Nintendo won't hip me over on purchases in between Club Nintendo and MyNintendo.They... have the technology....

What exactly do you plan on doing on day one with Nintendo on your iPhone? In Miitomo?
Gold coins are just used for eShop coupons (I think?), so it's basically just a permanent version of the Digital Deluxe Program. Physical goods and bonus stuff all cones from platinum coins.Has it been pointed out yet that it appears My Nintendo will only reward for digital purchases and not physical ones? I've had this suspicion for a while but no real confirmation until seeing this page below where it explicitly calls out digital games / versions:

It's not really that surprising but it certainly sucks.
(this seems like the closest recent thread as people are anticipating the My Nintendo launch with Miitomo)

Ohhh SHIT
MIITOMO HYYYYYPE
My Nintendo launching in time for the Nintendo Selects in UK this Thursday. I plan on getting Tropical Freeze (£19.99) and then Pokken Tournament on Friday both Digital, so hopefully I'll earn Gold Coins for those purchases.
Do you know any online store from the UK, where you can preorder the new Nintendo Selects?

No. I think retailers are keeping the games that make up the Selects at full price right up until they have to drop the prices on Thursday.
I'll just buy Tropical Freeze on the eShop on Thursday. I'll have a quick scout about to see if anybody is doing a download code cheaper on the day but I'm not expecting too much.

In absence of any further announcements, you shouldn't assume that this is launching anywhere other than Japan on Thursday. According to the schedule Nintendo gave. Japan is supposed to get this stuff first.
Yes, ShopTo although I'd wait for other stores before pre-ordering. It is likely that another store will offer a discount before release.
As someone in the UK, if the only way to get Gold Coins is through digital purchases, then I will have very few Gold Coins. The pricing on the eShop is silly. Twilight Princess digital is £39.99 ($56) but I was able to get the damn Collector's Edition for less than that from Amazon.
If you still don't have excess to any kind of external storage nearly 4 years in Yiu are doing it wrong. Hell I have been using a 64gb thumb drive for the last 2 years. That's not the big problem with Nintendo trying to go Digital-only. The big problem is that the Wii U has 32GB internal fucking storage.

Miitomo is now listed on the Nintendo Creators Program white list.
It's a mysterious social app rather than a straightforward sequel, so obviously it has a different level of interest. But I guarantee you that Facebook will be flooded with this mii editor photos for some type of period.
