Spider-Man is secretly OP. Like not only is one of the smartest dudes in the MU, one of the most agile, but he's gotta pull his punches cuz it otherwise it would be like getting hit by a wrecking ball. Talking about a dude who lifts up to 10 tons. Like he's waaaaay stronger than Steve Rogers b

I hope SPiderman and Cap lock arms and Cap gets the shock of his life when he tastes that sweet sweet proportional strength of a spider. Shit Spiderman should be the 4th strongest character in the MCU not counting tech based ones

I hope this happens too, but Cap's got that circumstantial MCU strength buff to make him competitive.

So I bet it'll be Bucky continuing to get embarassed, this time by Spidey.

You said the blue was the original shot.

Yes, the original as in "what's on the blu-ray/theartre". They (movie makers) used a blue filter.

I don't quite understand what you're trying to say there.

The intention of the blue filter is to make it look colder. In the Hulkbuster scene they used a yellow filter to make it more "warmer", but it's not as over-done as the blue. On comparison you can still see it though. I assume these are the reasons for the filters at least. Either way, not a fan.

Are you talking about some next thing, cameras and stuff? Cos I'm not.

I feel like you really don't have an understanding as to what color balancing is.

This is something as old as cinema.

Current Spidey is way over 10 tons.

(Paladin there is usually ranked at about 1 ton, for comparison).

That being said, the old "Class 1-100" scales that determined strength were invented by and for the handbooks and were notoriously inaccurate. No one is really sure how strong spiderman is, not even Parker. Peter himself holds back the majority of what he can do subconsciously and won't go all out unless in extreme circumstances.

I was shocked in another thread that folks didn't know Spidey was super strong.

I remember that one. Some dude just thought spiderman was a regular guy with web shooters that crawled on walls sometimes.

I don't know how you could have watched spiderman ANYTHING and come up with that impression.

Peter deliberately holds back so he doesn't accidentally KILL the people he apprehends. Even when they punch him.

:lol

Yeah he stopped a damn train in spiderman 2 and he takes so many hits that would turn many other heroes into pulp in all the movies

I think to get the point across in mcu they're gonna have to have him overpower some of these civil war fools

It's even sillier when you factor that this is one of his most iconic moments

MCU costume is the best. I never liked raised webbing, it didn't look good and it wasn't believable that some poor ass teenager is going to spend time stitching webbing into his outfit.

Raised webbing is good. Without, he just looks like deadpool from a distance.

You should stop

I really hope there isn't any romance in this new Spider-Man movie

hollywood shoehorns romance into literally everything, because they assume women won't see it otherwise.

Winter Soldier is one of the rare big budget exceptions.

edit: hmm...and maybe Avengers 1? I don't think there was a romance subplot in A1. Age of Ultron though? Holy hell was that terrible.

Spidey's super strength has been common knowledge since forever, lifting cars and shit
through out all the iterations of comics, cartoons and movies

the only media that waters down Spidey's super strength is video-games

"Hey, shouldn't Spider-Man easily beat this foe?"
"He....uh...he...subsconsciously holds back?"
"Okay."

Inconcistency of power levels in comic books is inevitable

Octavious literally didn't know how to hold back in a new body.

I'm not sure whether it was so much "didn't know how" as it was "why would I bother?"
Dude WAS a supervillain and still had supervillain tendencies.

Superior Spidey really put into perspective just how much pete holds back when SpOck put Scorpion into a coma with one hit to the jaw.

Miguel still fought Otto to a draw during that arc though, because Best Spiderman has never given any fucks about roughing up someone who deserves it.

A friend told me that apparently in the Marvel universe canonically the Hulk has never killed anybody. Apparently Bruce Banner is always subconsciously doing the math on the Hulk's projectiles and other stuff in order so people don't actually die. No idea if it's true or not, but he's a big comic guy and I believe him

eh, something you need to keep in mind is that Marvel and DC were overseen by something called the "comics code" for a long time that determined what they could and could not do with their characters in print. Marvel got rid of it in 2001, DC in 2010.

Up to 2001, your friend is probably right. After that? doubtful, though I cant think of specific cases off the top of my head.

This is was one of the reasons brought up by Hulk fanboy Amadeus Cho in World War Hulk.

That said, there's no way people haven't died in the collateral damage of Hulk fights.

Apparently this was explained in comics recently, post-Marvel Now in 2012

There we go! I thought it was going to be Slay

TASM 2 costume is the best, imo.I like the new one too,but I think that one is way better.

Otto actually has a moment here where he realizes for the first time how little force Spider-Man actually used in their fights. He didn't know which is why Scorpion loses half his face in the first place.
