That Zephyr seems like a pretty cool guy.

Probably my best game ever, for better or worse lol.

Mint was quiet during that moment....... at least over 'vent.' His concede vote speaks to exactly how he felt about the situation :)

Sanjay.. cool vids :) What do you use for capturing at such high res? I've been thinking about giving shoutcasting a try soon and I need a list of some programs to look into. Only issue: I'm on a Mac. I'm sure there are plenty of progs available.. just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Bad memories. =(

Fuck this game is so good when you are on a competent team. I was on a random team that was warding and had couriers and we won in a fairly decisive manner (~35 minutes). I even went 2/2/6 with Shaman. :o

Couriers and wards win the game. The problem is buying them. I'll definately buy flying couriers later in the game, but beginning I need that 200 gold.

I agree, but I'm still bad with courier microing so I stick to wards and buy a courier if my team requests it.

Also I won 4 games in a row yesterday.

Hi guys! Mind if I join the GAF clan? I'm not great but hopefully will be able to improve faster than playing random pub games.

I also have the 3 beta invites so if anyone is still wanting in just pm me your email addy.

Thanks ~Ashes2049

(lol@ League Of Legends banner ad in HoN thread :lol )

Realized recently that much of my over-extension was due to poor lag on my part (also, my ability to farm was diminished because of my inability to last hit properly). I've since lowered the settings of the game to its lowest and have seen improvement. I'm still seeing server side lag... but nothing due to computer performance (a relief).

It was amazing how much one or two extra steps forward were killing me (literally).

Had my first quad kill yesterday with Glacius. Can't ever underestimate that portal key.

Oh right, and I have a couple of invites. PMs, first come first serve.

Well I don't really play anymore but I was going through my email today and realized I had 6 beta keys to hand out. If someone is in need please just message me. Feel free to show your gratitude by supplying me with a SCII key =p

Rage, Match 1 was such BS you even captured the two team fights that lost us the game.

Hey, I've been getting quite a nasty bug lately. Sometimes when I level up, the game picks a random skill without me having a say about it. Like on the last scrim, my Pesti picked stats 5 levels in a row, which kinda sucked. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I have no idea what's causing this, nor can I find any solution on the HoN forums.

Maybe one of your keys is stuck, you should check the hotkeys that are used for stat raising.

I'm not sure which ones to look for. The only two I could find would be "Attribute Boost" which is on O, and "Levelup" which is on L, two keys that I'm never even close to when I play. I doubt any of them are stuck, since that would affect other applications too, no?

Anyone know how to fix this or prevent it from happening: Sometimes while I'm playing my hotkeys stop working. The only way I know how to fix it is by clicking the menu and then exiting out. You have no idea how frustrating this is when I am jamming on hot keys as someone with one hit left is running away or I need to blink away in order to live....ugh.

The fuck :lol, did they change him recently ( Past 2 months ? )
Yup. His Leap ability has been replaced by Gust which is a directionally aimed gust of wind that deals damage and pushes units/heroes in whatever direction you aim it towards. His tornadoes now cost no mana when using them to regen, but they also nerfed the health return to 15hp per tornado. His third ability (the evasion one) is now passive, and is activated whenever you are attacking. Lastly, they changed his ult to Typhoon, which is pretty much just a bigass storm that slows enemy heroes down and does a bit of damage while they are standing inside it. And yes, he is still overpowered which is probably the reason Mint didn't beat me that game. :lol

Couple input I would like to make.
It's 30hp per tornado if used, 15 hp if not used and tornado fades away.
Evasion works when the hero attacks you, also deflects partial damage when the unit is ranged.

You were fed top. That's my excuse :P

Hey all.
I have 4 invites for this sitting around doing nothing so i figure....why not give them to GAF.
PM me with your e-mail addess. Ill send the invites and respond to your PM's to confirm.
First in first served.....GO!

i'd love to play with some gaffers some time.

i've only play 4 games so far, with one being yelling at by my team on the mic the entire time and the other i was kicked immediately in the beginning for going to the bottom since i missed the chat spam while i was brewing tea as well as my starting items. of course once they chastised me and i started feeding the other team. sigh

any particular reason why people take this game so seriously?

People don't like it when you brew tea and refuse to listen in a team game. While it may be frustrating as a new player, it is equally frustrating to have new players on your team that effectively ruin your 40 minute game.

bleh, they could atleast be more friendly in a game which carried a noob title. instead of calling me names over the mic and immediately calling for my removal.

It's one of those things you'll have to deal with, unfortunately.

Join the clan chat and stick around if you see a lot of people on; there's been a bunch of scrims happening on the fly as of late.

Shit you have to deal with sadly, play with gaffers we have a range of players from god like to mere mortals. Also hit up practice mode and check the forums to see guides on heroes you want to try out.

i got a key the other day and have it installed but haven't played yet. i'm excited to play, but am reading up on most of it now as there's a lot to swallow.

i know i'll be a noob when i jump in no matter how much i read, but i at least want some idea of the characters and the basics.

The best way to learn sadly is to actually play in games. The biggest thing is knowing what every hero does and how you can avoid getting killed by it (and there are alot of heroes). You can check em all out in practice mode but that would take a long time better spent playing real games.

Just remember these things and you should be ok:

1. At the start follow whatever lane your team tells you or pick one yourself. Two heroes top and bottom and only one middle. Ranged is usually in the middle as it is easier to manage the two hills that are there.

2. Don't auto attack creeps, wait until theyre almost dead and get the last hit. This ensures you get the maximum amount of gold early and prevents you from pushing the creeps to their tower too early. Later in the game you can pretty much ignore this rule. You can also deny the enemy creeps by killing your own creeps when they get low.

3. As a new player you should play defensively and focus on picking ranged heroes. Try to stay behind your creeps and listen to other players calling missing heroes. This means they might be coming down to kill you from behind.

4. Generally you should buy things from the recommended list (second selection at the shop) but dont be afraid to ask your teammates what you should buy.

5. Finally, if you notice your team is grouping up to kill something (tower, making a push) make sure you join them. Nothing makes me more angry than a team fight going down and were 4v5 because one of us just wants to keep farming gold.

On a side note - had an awesome game today with the gaffers. We kept getting owned by this one soulstealer who would solo around the map picking people off. Everytime he would get a kill he would write 'sup' in chat like a huge showoff. We ended up owning his team in the end, with a resulting "sup" from our whole team on the final push. Sweet retribution.

Mint! Why'd you bail on us man?! Internet go out or something? Anyways, we ended up winning that game. :lol Was quite ridiculous the way we held them off haha.

I have never actually played DotA until LoL and I really, really like it. How does this game compare to LoL?
