Roy is awesome. That gif...is not one of his best moments. I prefer Thea as Speedy, but I like Roy as Arsenal.
Oliver is the problem with Arrow. How can I love Stephen Amell as a person, but loathe Oliver so fucking much? And don't get me started on the discount Oracle shit they're doing with Felicity. Granted, I'm like three episodes behind, so I've missed a lot, but what a lame ass storyline.
Anyway, Tony is totally a villain. Not all villains are black and white evil. Most villains think their cause is just. Tony is the antagonist in this movie, but the reasons behind his actions can be sympathized with. I actually think Tony has a point about keeping the enhanced beings in check. But I also think Cap has a point in that that sort of thing can lead to ugliness that goes beyond just the pursuit of freedom and safety. Bucky is being used in this story as a visual way to illustrate both characters perspective. Cap is obviously also invested because Bucky is not only his friend, but his last remaining link to the life that was stolen from him.
I love RDJ as Tony. If you don't walk away from an MCU movie not wanting to punch Tony in the face, then Robert's not doing his job. I'm Team Cap because Cap is Cap. He won me over in TFA, but I became a fan after Winter Soldier. My mindset of Cap from the comics is that he was typical American propaganda. I loved that he movies addressed that as well, but also highlighted that Steve Rogers, pre and post Super Soldier serum, is a fucking hell of a guy. You can't help but admire his earnestness and good nature. It's the traits that Superman should have in his movies not starring Christopher Reeves, but are sorely lacking. It also doesn't come off as patronizing.
I love that Cap talks like your grandpa trapped in the body of a god. Lol. I love that Steve and Tony are so different personality wise. This clash was going to happen eventually, even if they weren't basing this movie off of the Civil War comic. They have always been at odds, only working together because they could see the bigger picture, and that was often the safety of the world. This battle was a long time coming.
I'm just really interested in how they plan on weaving Zemo into the film without him feeling shoehorned in. I also think the airport battle of the heroes happens after the halfway point of the movie, but is not the climactic battle in the movie.
War Machine is also there, so I think this happens pre him being shot out of the sky. I actually think Rhodey being shot down is from the beginning of the movie, and is part of what galvanizes Tony, in the same way the hunt for Bucky galvanizes Cap. But then Rhodey recovers in time to help Tony during the airport battle.
