Captain America: Civil War - Final Trailer

Luke Cage is later this year, Iron Fist will be early next year, Jessica Jones S2 might or might not exist anytime soon. I personally expect that they will announce a showrunner for Defenders before the end of this year, and it will be their big late 2017 show. Defenders will not be "Infinity War on Earth". It will be Shadowland. As much as I hate Shadowland, I think all the signs are there.

the chances of a Shadowland is slim, but they could easily adapt the story for the tv series. Too early to tell. We will find out the direction of the series tomorrow.

Shadowland elevator pitch, lay it on me (Not familiar with that story)
What if Daredevil decided enough is enough and decides to rule Hell kitchen in the most cruelest way possible.

It's a stupid ass "street level" crossover event Marvel did centered around Daredevil wanting to protect his city so much that he gave in to the dark side and joined the Hand, only to be part of a scheme where he is possessed by a demon lord they are trying to revive. All the street level heroes have to come together to try and bring Matt back to his senses, and there's a giant Hand temple in the middle of Hell's Kitchen.

It's dumb. It's edgy. It's dark. It's everything bad about Image comics transplanted into Marvel. :)

How are you going to have a team series when the biggest member of your team goes evil and becomes the big bad?

Everything you said is true except for Image comics. Marvel doesn't hold a candle to Image when it comes to good comics and stories.

because they won't . This is still a young DD so no need to worry.

I don't see the temple happening, but I can definitely seeing them doing a version of that story.

And Image is the best thing in comics. so I can't agree with that last part :p

I'm not shitting on Image here. I said it is everything -bad- about Image, being artificially transplanted into a Marvel storyline. C'mon, did we all forget how Image started up? Shadowhawk, Spawn, etc. There's good and there's bad there. The bad was how dated the edginess is. That's Shadowland!

How many characters are there going to be in Infinity Wars?

Man I wonder how they are going to handle that.

Seems a lot. :\

I only got into comics last year

Oh shit, now they tell me.

yea I didn't know about Instock trades till this year. I could of saved hundreds of dollars.

for example I got both Millers Daredevil and Elektra Onibus for 114 dollars with free ground shipping where it would cost me a lil more than 200 dollars to get the same books on Amazon.

The packaing and care of the books is quality too so don't worry about damaged book ends.

hit the comic book thread. Also buy from instock trades comics instead of Amazon to save yourself some money if you buy physical.
Was pretty active in there last year. I'm 100% digital, only really buy stuff off Comixology. Currently reading through Punisher MAX because some show is coming back later today

I only collect HC comics otherwise Comixology for everything else. Physically issues take up sooo much space

This is awesome. Thanks!

I haven't read any of the stuff post Secret Wars with Miles, but I don't really get the hate. Considering the shitty state of the Ultimate universe when he was introduced, I thought his original run was pretty good!

Some of y'all just have no chill.

Yeah, that seems in line with what I remember of all the interviews we've seen so far. Everyone is saying "yeah maybe" or "I'll be happy to do it" but there's zero real commitment. I think the strongest indication so far of anything possibly happening is Feige himself saying that it would "make sense" to eventually have TV characters on the big screen at some point.

yea, it is so hard to speculate because a lot of the Netflix series and Marvel films haven't released yet. Thanos has been sitting in a chair for 3 films.

Where have you been since Marvel NOW!?

No Marvel book right now holds a candle to Image.
I was exaggerating my statment, but image definitely has more quality series right now. for every great marvel book image has at least 2 to match it.

Also I am reading a shit ton of Marvel Now/ANAD books atm. will soon add Punisher and Black Panther to my list when they drop.

The only real issue is Perlmutter. If he gets pushed out completely before Infinity War starts shooting, the Netflix heroes will definitely be in the movie.

Perlmutter doesn't really "control" anything. I think people read way too much into the internal politics. There's a very simple and rational reason why Marvel TV and Marvel Studios don't link up and have big crossovers - logistics. It might seem really simple from a fan perspective - companies are all owned by the same parent, all rights are with Marvel, etc. But remember, it's still one more thing for Marvel Studios to worry about when they're already juggling a dozen films. Why would they want to give themselves -more- work just to sneak a cameo of a TV character in when they don't have to? When they feel there is a real benefit to doing so, they'll do it.

Wide shot, Thanos is standing on top of a pile of superhero bodies, with Captain America's broken shield in the foreground

Thanos: I have beaten all of the mortals! The universe is mine!

Wolverine: Not quite, bub

[ISNIKT and the screen says TO BE CONTINUED IN INFINITY WAR PART 2 [/I]
I mean, I'm not a Wolverine fanboy, but this
would be boss. I would also take this
because that's hilarious.
I'm pretty sure we're going to get a long ass one shot of every single superhero in the MCU wrecking shit in Infinity War Part 2

Like, that's the billion dollar payoff
I'm crying at the very thought
Just give us this in Infinity War.

DAAAAAAAMN

You just threw Bluebird, the Robin teen army and in a way, Batwoman under the bus.

:O
Also forgot about Batwing.
Most people did

When Bendis made him Kingpin it was pretty cool.

I mean Peter and Miles do have really good interactions.

They could adapt it though, make it better than the source material. Civil War is a crappy story but it's fair to say the film is a loose adaptation of the comic. What if instead of Matt going all dark side, the show is about Matt infiltrating the Hand as a double agent?

It lasted for a fucking decade too.

God what an awful run. Making him a demon was a fucking upgrade at that point it was SO DARK. It's why the first thing Waid did when he got control was have Matt get into a fucking snowball fight with a bunch of orphans to get the stank of "OH MY GOD SO EDGE" out of everybodies mouths.

I really hope they don't do Shadowland, it's not even something they should be thinking about attempting.

That's the website! I've been wracking my brain trying to remember what that site was that had cheap trades.

I like the idea of the story a lot. Obviously it needed some work, but I do genuinely enjoy it. I wouldn't mind either that being adapted or using Bendis' arc where he becomes Kingpin.

They can write out Agents of Shield from exisistence for all I care, but the Netflix shows NEED to cross over.

Honestly, I don't know how they would get as many hero characters that they've said will be in IW without having the Netflix and AoS crossovers. I've read there will be 65+ heroes during those movies. Why wouldn't they pull from established shows that people will know? They don't want to bog the film down with the audience constantly saying "who's that?".

Just because the Russo's aren't familiar with AoS now (or they just said they weren't) doesn't mean they won't familiarize themselves when they need to. There just hasn't been a reason for them to care yet because Civil War doesn't involve the street level guys.

I would expect a few more antagonists and secondary characters, new and old, from each respective solo film to make an appearance e.g. Tom Hiddleston is confirmed for Infinity War, but I agree, there is no way they're planning to introduce characters like Daredevil and Iron Fist into the universe, only to keep them restricted to totally unrelated side stories.

Plus, it's in Charlie Cox's contract at the least:

It’s in my contract that if they want me to do it, I’m there, and I would love that.
