Batman v Superman Spoiler Thread: Don't believe everything you read, Son

- We know from the interviews that Mercy Graves has a fight scene (I think)

Actually I saw an interview (could be the AOL one) with the actress and she said she didn't have any scenes that required her to be physical, just stand around looking mean. Thats what made me suspicious of the reports of her having a fight scene with Wonder Woman. Of course she could be lying to avoid spoilers.

Where's Verendus?

I know he doesn't want to spoil the movie but I hope he confirms whether or not that summary is true, or if any of the ones out there are. I'm getting sick of all these different plot descriptions. Has there ever been a movie before that inspired so much imagination? Verendus pls.

The weird thing: I would be perfectly fine with letting Goyer get away with all this. If he actually had anything of real substance to say.

The only thing I am willing to give him credit for is the portrayal of the Kents.
Please. The film says, "Superman's an alien!" so loud and clear it's carrying into a second film, which is a substantive confrontation to the culture.

At this point, I genuinely think this run through is correct.

The plot just sounds so cohesive with all the materiel we actually have.

If so, It sounds incredible really.

Yeah. Sounds pretty awesome...imo.

It also sounds quite tight instead of lots of meandering all over the place with nothing happening. As for Batman setting a guy on fire, or at least not helping him put it out (:P) and the Batwing blowing up cars near bad guys...for the cars I suppose you could excuse the fact unless the explosions are videogame-y they might survive but with injuries....etc.

I love that Batman actually sounds a bit unhinged and insane, since being so motivated by his parents death is...tragically insane.

I think I'll opt not to read it, but I do like the idea of Clark Kent dying because I've felt Clark has been done enough and I want more intergalactic Superman than earth bound shenanigans.

The destruction comments sound weird to me.

Why would they suddenly tone it down when they've got n villain who is even more hell-bent on destruction that Zod?

Either verendus or these leaks are lying because leaks say that knight mare is one scene, but he states it's spread out.

Well the leak suggests the proper fight takes place on Stryker's Island?> If i read it right...and if it's abandoned I suppose it's basically a way of ensuring little to no civilian casualties.

The part where they head back to Gotham (I think) is what I was referring to. Although reading that again, it seems even that fight takes place in an abandoned part of the city.

Does the leak mention KGBeast at all? I'm pretty sure
he dies to doomsday.

I'd heard a rumor that bit had been cut out and would be in the Director's Cut...no idea if true though.

Ah, ok. It makes sense for Gotham to have some more run down and quasi-abandoned parts of the city, so I don't really mind it. If it was Metropolis in MoS, that city was presented as much more of a well developed and populated and prosperous city so in BvS i don't think it'll come across as "Oh, how convenient there's no-one in this multiple block radius" etc.

I'd like to believe the former. If the Knightmare scene spans across the whole movie...then wow...that sounds amazing.

It would. I love the way it seems to set up the wider movie universe...

Also someone correct me if I'm wrong but the way I understand it from the leak is that an alien ship crashes on the African Coast and it's loaded with kryptonite and all sortsa tech Lex would love to get his hands on...so through backdoor shenanigans he has it shipped to the US...and some of the data Bruce analyzes, specifically the part that triggers his Knightmare sequence(s) is from this ship too? Which would imply the ship...traveled through time, from an apokolyptic future....ahhh man I think that sounds really good.

Probably understanding it wrong though.

I can't believe it took me this long to put two and two together than the Lex Luthor Asian assistant lady was Mercy Graves. I mean, DUH, but I guess I'm just dumb.

It's still stupid to me to kill Superman and waste Doomsday in the second outing. I like all the Batman stuff so far though.

It is fucking stupid and blowing your load waaaaay too early.

So exactly what we already thought of the movie. Still going to watch it and hopefully enjoy it, though

Not sure that I believe that post.

Also, he replied to someone saying that the "Knightmare" is one scene and Verendus already said that it's not.

I'm pretty sure Batman killing somebody is just tradition in movies, even when he says its not.

"Remember how much people hated how Superman killed? Let's make Batman do it too"

I can't imagine Terrio doing that. From what we've seen so far, it looks like this movie addresses a lot of complaints from MoS (Metropolis collateral damage), I doubt they want to repeat that.

Plus it doesn't really make much sense with Croc and Joker walking around.

Justice League movie is going to revolve around Darkseid arriving on earth and looking for Supermans body. JL is going to try and stop him but just when he's leaving with the body the exposure to the sun revives Superman.

This movie writing craic is easy. Maybe I'll become a troll on reddit

He's already branding/torturing people, Batman setting off a bunch of explosions that inadvertently kill people is like, tradition, b. Batman blowing up the ACME factory in '89, Batman grinning and giving that clown his bomb back in Returns, Bruce Wayne saying, "I won't kill....but let me blow up this ninja fortress causing untold amount of causalities including killing fake Ra's al ghul".

It happens.

The review buts a large emphasis on shit like the Khandaq bullets (which was in a clip released this week) but then goes foggy when its plugging the holes that haven't been revealed. None of them really touch on this image either, which doesn't read to me like a simple robbery scene

It's like poetry...

Eh, I think it makes sense that Lexcorp guys tried to shoot Batman with AK's. I say the summary is true, as Lawrence Fishburne commented on how emotional the scene between Batman and Martha was.

the Pa Kent dream sequence sounds so weird when you have Ma(rtha) Kent right there to give supporting speeches. Especially if you're gonna use her later as a chess piece in the contrived Batman vs Superman battle.

Doomsday is a giant plot device in bicycle shorts made for the specific purpose to kill Superman. This is pretty much the extent of his "character arc".

but even if it's true, Superman doesn't die and Doomsday is not a character with a long arc.

It's dumb to even imply/fake his death. Like yea we all know he's coming back. And while I realize Doomsday exists strictly to kill Superman, there's no weight to it in the second film.

Like imagine Marvel killing Cap in Avengers. It wouldn't work in the slightest. Now they might do it Civil War, which is four movies of knowing Cap, and it works.

ON the one hand - it sounds truthy
ON the other hand - it sounds like it's just a rewrite of the other rumor.
ON the third hand - it's yet another messageboard plot summary, which have a success rate lower than 5%
ON the back hand - We know the film is getting screenings.
