Batman v Superman Spoiler Thread: Don't believe everything you read, Son

I kinda hope they don't go Darkseid since people are already gonna get lots of Thanos and Apocalypse before hand. I rather them go Legion of Doom first, and leverage all the DC villains. Then have them team up later to oppose Darkseid and/or Brainiac. And, they won't, so we'll keep getting annoying comparisons.

Anyway, this thread has made the next 66 hrs of my life feel much longer.

A Legion of Doom movie would be interesting. For instance, MoS is the launching pad for the DCEU, BvS is the launching pad for Justice League, and what if Suicide Squad was the launching pad for Legion of Doom with both groups meeting in one film against the other? It might not work, but it would be different. Darkseid could then come and BOTH groups have to take him on to preserve both their interests.

isn't Justice Leage part 1 before Infinity War part 1?

I don't mind Darkseid being first. The great thing about the DC Universe, thanks to their most popular heroes being so powerful, is they have no shortage of Justice League level Earth destroying villains.

I want to see Darkseid, Cyborg Superman. Mongul, Anti-Monitor, (Heck you can even do someone like Spectre) etc. Most of all though, I want an adaptation of Mageddon and the JLA: World War 3 Arc by Grant Morrison.

Reading some of the spoilers at SHH and seeing the Gotham trailer, taking so much inspiration from TDKReturns is probably going to be the movie's biggest mistake, and possibly one of the reasons why fans will be so polarized.

Just got back.

Fucking hell, there was so much stuff in this movie. Way too much.

People are going to be super pissed because Batman clearly kills a shitload of people in this, for one. I dunno.

Give us alllllll the details.

Was the concern about being "overstuffed" justified?

Do they actually do a decent job of introducing characters like Wonder Woman? Or is it a glorified cameo and "you'll learn more about her later!" deal?

99% of the time you don't see a body. It's, you know Bale iced people that way. Then there's a scene ripped from TDKReturns, made more violent by Batman burning a fool. He's more along the lines of Keaton bats.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

lol There is going to be a shit ton of "not mah Batman/Superman" with this movie. It's inevitable with these characters.

I think the truth is, everyone does this with religious figures and deities. That's why every major religion has different sects and denominations.

The thing is, by the end of the movie rolls around, both character arcs wrap In a way to form a more traditional character of each party.

So how's the action? How's the Batman action? As Arkham-esque as the trailers imply?

Does Batman actually blow up those vehicles, or is it Alfred when he's remote controlling the Batplane?

The endgame never matters to people who want to say something louder than someone else. If Superman or Batman does something in the movie that goes against their idea of either character that's it. It doesn't matter if it all comes around by the end.

Alright, big infodump incoming since we're safe now.

I fucking hated the first act. Nobody does anything. The best part is Lex just trolling the shit out of everybody and setting all of his plans into motion, completely unchecked.

But I can put up with that shit because the Batman/Superman fight was fun fun fun fun fun and they were able to get away with not spoiling every single damn moment in the trailer. Bats beat his ass like he owes him money, that shit was gooooooood

Wonder Woman is around for most of the movie, doing her thing in the background. She shows up at the end to help with Doomsday and that's it. The rest of the Justice League characters are cameos, introduced in surveillance footage of their powers.

You get ONE Batman Arkham setpiece. You get ONE Wonder Woman fight and it's with Doomsday.

Oh and Superman is superdead. But oh wait Snyder did an Inception on you, oooooooo

Batman essentially does murder people, it's only really justified when he's saving Martha Kent though (mom feels justify anything). The film also opens up with him essentially torturing a dude and uses Clark to see him as a very dangerous and threatening person. This is Dark Knight Returns Bruce in full form.

Sounds like it's more Superman-centric than some might have guessed

I'd love to hear about the Flash's cameo in this. Apologies if if has been covered but I haven't read any spoilers dealing with it yet.

Yeah, Batman isn't fucking around in this. They keep mentioning how he's been doing this for 20+ years, so that no kill rule has come and gone. He has no time for that shit. Get out of the way or die.

He's the main driver of the plot. They straight up 9/11 his fight with Zod. Bruce is there trying to save his employees in the Wayne Enterprises building, but it's too late.

So the "spoiler" about Superman getting the Mass Effect 3 ending treatment is true?

He gets a Kryptonite spear that Bruce made (and was like 3 seconds from stabbing Superman with in the fight before Lois stops him), stabs Doomsday with it, and Doomsday stabs him with his sword arm thing. Both of them die.

It's probably the worst cameo. Though I may be biased because his suit is so god damn awful and disgusting. Bruce has the knightmare sequence, and The Flash is part of it and warns Bruce about the possible future.

He's blows them up. He blows up cars in the batmobile, as well. He knocks a grenade back into a room with the guys who tossed it. Batman isn't shooting people with guns, but his actions murder people. Won't shoot you, but he'll blow up your car with you inside.

Even in the spoiler thread I don't want to spoil it. It's a big WTF moment.

I'm almost afraid to ask what you think of Grant's suit.

Grants costume is a master piece compared to this
Is the Flash costume really based on the Injustice Flash costume?
I'm pretty sure someone looked at Injustice and thought "The Flash needs even MORE armor". Though they could easily excuse it by the armor being there from fighting Parademons in the future or something.

Not only is this movie gonna have to deal with the comparisons to Civil War once that's out, but I guarantee someone's going to write a thinkpiece on how emotionally hollow this film is compared to the Iron Giant, whose ending it will be accused of shamelessly ripping off. "For years people have said Iron Giant was the best Superman movie, and now this Superman movie tries to do it with Superman, and guess what: Zack Snyder is a meathead idiot who can't even beat a cartoon at being a Superman movie, and he's actually got Superman! Bharlarha harlaha halrhg"
.

Actually, the Iron Giant ripped off the ending episode of Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot which was made in the 60's. A t.v. series about a boy who befriends a top secret organization's(Unicorn) agent and comes into the ownership of a wristwatch that commands a giant robot.

Giant Robot comes to life after seemingly running out of energy in the last episode and disobeys Johnny's commands and fights Emperor Guillotine(big baddy off the series ie: the boss character....whose body is made of nuclear material and if destroyed, would blow up the entire planet).

He grabs Guillotine and flies into outer space and flies into an asteroid with Emperor Guillotine, sacrificing himself for Johnny and humanity.

Now as a kids show, this ending was a major bummer and while this video has a remix music track(probably to avoid a takedown) the original music and scene was very emotional for a kid.

So while the Iron Giant was a great movie and had a sad ending, I couldn't help it when I saw the ending and said "wow, they just ripped off the ending of Johnny Sokko". Guess I'm showing my age here, I'm 44. :)
