I mean along the lines of

Flash, Shazam, etc.

I just want to know what to be looking out for, I need some more hype to get me through the week.

All that Justice League / Darkseid / dream / Flash stuff is probably going way over the heads of the general audience. Into the realm of nonsense or "what in the hell was that!?" It nearly went over my head and I definitely know a lot more than the average person.

The imagery was very Darkseid/Apokolips oriented, but at the end I actually thought the same thing about the Anti-Monitor.

I'm wagering that the Knightmare is the result of some kind of future tech mind transferral stuff, probably linked to Barry's powers/suit somehow, sending warnings back to the past. That'll be how they connect this stuff and lead up to the Darkseid reveal. We might get a similar sequence in Wondy and maybe even Squad, if so.

Or you know, Barry ran back through time as a warning.

Honestly, while I definitely prefer a nonkilling Batman, I'm not hugely upset about it. So long as they keep him well clear of Punisher territory (deliberately going out of his way to kill instead of incapacitate), I'm pretty happy.

Not for the most part, outside of some really early stuff and Miller stories. He'll let people die, but he'll very rarely use lethal force on regular people. Even a lot of his stuff for superhumans is non-lethal.

But, if BvS is taking cues from Miller's stuff, almost murderer Batman is part of it.

I loved the tone of the first, say 30 minutes and from there it was bloated and self important. It felt like they tried to cram 2 movies worth of content into one.

It was ok but not great. I think it will be very polarizing for people with a few of the narrative/tone choices.

I was amazed at how much I loved Eisenberg's Lex. Tops of the movie by far.

I have to agree-it's his major character trait. I realize this is a "Version" of Batman, but for the official DC Cinematic Universe we finally get, I feel bad that this is the version we're getting. Otherwise why does he even bother putting Joker and Two-Face in Arkham? Just kill 'em right?

These are all fictional characters. If none of the dudes he punched ever dropped into a coma and died, then none of them did. Can't create the circumstances without seeing them on panel or on screen.

I will say I gave a laugh at the end of the warehouse scene. That final throw straight into a wall, breaking the wall was just... something else. The whole scene was nuts, really. I think Batman even took a straight execution style bullet to the back of his head. I guess his cowl is bullet proof.

Guess it depends on "which" Batman is your source. I've never really read comics (no interest sorry) but I find elements of films based on comics interesting. If you've only seen Batman in film you actually expect him to use lethal force if necessary (or for the lol like Keaton's take).

TBH in films they've been pretty lazy with that including Nolan films. It might be casual or even comic relief but he's clearly killed folks from first Keaton film onward.

Same thing for Superman even though it's only a couple of examples: like what happen to Zod and crew when they fell in Superman 2.

Snyder to be fair is clearly going after a much darker, Frank Miller tone where the killing is apparent and there's little sense it's just the odd bit of fun with disposable henchmen so I get why people really don't like that vs the winking at the audience joke killings in say Batman Returns.

Kinda surprised that the spoiler thread turned into a treatise on Batman's one rule.

I more or less figured he'd be killing some folks in this, being as a) he's based heavily on Miller's Batman, who more or less kills folks, and b) Batman on film has only NOT killed someone once: Batman & Robin.

Every other movie, he kills. The movie that not only rejuvenated the character, and revived the notion of the superhero film as viable entertainment (1989's Batman) featured a Batman who not only gave no fucks about killing, but entertained an audience that didn't seem to give turd #1 about whether he did or not, so long as he beat the Joker.

What's more interesting to me is whether or not the emotional punch Snyder's obviously trying to go for here (a punch I don't think he's honestly managed to land, not even in Dawn of the Dead, which was as close as he ever got to it) managed to somewhat find its mark.

I'm going to wait for the context of the movie before criticizing Batman killing, even as someone pretty staunchly against the death penalty and the current American prison complex in general.

Self-defense, heat of the battle stuff doesn't get me, executions would.

Now if I watch the movie and feel that Batman could've approached a situation differently to minimize the possibility that there would be deaths, then that's something I will call out.

Hell no you didn't spoil anyone with your quick-fast impressions post, but people are so scared that every possible moment of their pristine first-viewing could possibly be sullied that even the thought of you scuffing up their shoes like that has them kicking out like Triple H.
