Thanks.

Also I can't believe it took me until this movie to realise Batman and Superman's (adopted) mother name is Martha. Didn't DC way back when think it was a bit silly for them to both have the same name?

You're talking about the same company that very nearly had a character named Harvey Kent being a Batman supervillain, before it was changed by one letter at the last minute.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I'm not sure if it was the last minute or not. Maybe Slayven would know?

I really, really loved Man of Steel. I'm a sucker for comic movies, so I going to be alright?

I think you will. As I said last night, it's a good movie but it has some pacing and editing issues. There are some thing that could've been better, a couple of weird decisions...but overall is not as terrible as critics are saying. It seems that despite it's flaws, most of the people around here who has seen it has enjoyed it.

It's close.

The editing issues might be fixed with blu-Ray extended cut. It one those films like the final LoTR film where you can see the edits and cuts sometimes

It's just so weird, days ago casuals were going crazy about it and now critics are panning the living hell out of it. I'm still hyped though, the Man of Steel fights were pretty mind blowing and if we something of the same caliber in BvS I'm gonna leave that theater very satisfied.

Just arriving from seeing at a movie theater.

It was good. I agree with a friend that said that it should've been epic, but overall I liked it a lot. I was even biased that it'd suck based on the reviews but I'm glad it didn't.

It's not the best super hero movie, but at least it's leaps and bounds better than the snore fest that was Age of Ultron last year. Just my 2 cents.

Yep.

And they hated MoS because they wanted a different film than Snyder and Nolan wanted to do. I personally like the dark and grim take on superheroes. It's a perfect contrast from what Marvel is doing, which I also like. not liking the direction of MoS is cool. But it wasn't a bad film.

BvS feels like a natural progression from MoS, so the internet was all in on the hate parade early. First they raged that Affleck was a terrible choice. But even the worst reviews are praising his work. Then Gordot was a terrible choice for Wonder woman, and lo and behold, she's getting praise, too.

Now we are left with the internet crying about too many heroes, too dark of a tone, and obvious launching pad for a new franchise. It was going to be something.

Lets hold off on the Gadot praise a bit. I thought she did well enough as Diana, and WW kicked ass, but
Gadot if we're lucky gets 15-20 lines of dialogue in the entire film, normally in short bursts (although that's partly due to the shoddy jumpy editing and scene jumping) and regrettably like most of the cast she's got a number of clunkers in there, of course some of the dialogue is so bad it's hard to tell if she clunked a couple of lines or if there was no saving them. I was enthused by her performance in that they retained enough mystery about both Diana and WW that you're keen to see more of her. And frankly she's a welcome distraction from the endless bro fight setup in the first act, and the film perks up whenever she appears, but the sample size is still far too small to make any definitive idea of how she'd hold up having to carry and entire movie.

Reviews are dumb, I think this one was actually better than MoS, though it really had some boring parts.

I didn't really like it, but it was indeed better than MoS. I get the sense that the director's cut will be a significant improvement. It's just so disjointed, and some of the most interesting scenes seem like they were very obviously cut short. For most of the runtime it feels like a Batman movie with only brief appearances by Superman.

I will definitely watch it again once it gets a home release.

The movie is pretty good, I still can't believe reviewers are giving it such low scores. "it will make you wonder if there was such a thing as a hero anyway"? Did they actually watch the movie?

Said it in the review thread but this morning's midnight screening was awesome. Great film and loved every minute of it. Snyder definitely needs to either be replaced or redirected but I would hate for them to just follow the Marvel formula because that would mean we don't get grim dark scenarios that question whether a superhero is truly a hero.

I can't wait for Suicide Squad though. The cinema was alive and cheering when they played the Queen trailer.

The bold doesn't seem to compute with the italic.

I didn't mind AoU.

Its biggest flaw is its completely pointless, and that's a big one. It feels like a move on a chess board rather than something organic and natural.

But its amusing, it has good actors who know their characters performing well, and its never offensively bad. It's boring in a few places. But it isn't outright bad at any points that I can remember (save the twins' accents I suppose).

Its a solid 5 or 6 out of 10, like every other Marvel movie save one or two.

My friends and I have all seen the movie now.

General consensus among all of us is it's the most inconsistent thing we've ever seen, and as big Batman, Superman and Flash fans it left us disappointed in Superman, disgusted in Flash and down to see an Affleck directed Batman. Sold on Wonder Woman too.

I'm really looking forward to watching this tomorrow morning and even the reviews (Faraci's a writer I really like but his savage review won't faze me) aren't going to dampen my enthusiasm one iota.

Don't care about the haters but me and my son loved the movie !

I suspect the majority of posts from people who actually go and see the film will be like this.

I saw BvS Monday, I really liked it to be honest. Much better than Man of Steel which I liked, but wasnt a huge fan of and have seen it a couple times.

Having a bit of knowledge of the DC universe going in definitely helps.

If you guys have any questions feel free to ask.

I would recommend going if you are at all a comic fan or want an entertaining movie.

eBay Rating: ++++++++++++++AAAAAAAAAAAA Would watch 2.5hr -3hr again

I just got back from it.

I really, really loved man of steel as well.

And i hated this movie.

There's lots to like and there is fun to be had but overall it's an incoherent mess of a movie.

I think there might be enough to have a streamlined film but as it is it's pretty terrible.

just saw it.

was expecting something terrible but it was pretty enjoyable! i liked it :>

there was problems with cramming future contents in its plot but overall i'd say it was better than Man of Steel was... Wonder Woman was great, Superman was feels and Batman was brooding, and Alfred could carry his own superbutler movie if he wanted to :D

I'd say maybe the movie suffers from over-poignancy of its director's style at parts, but that was about it, if you can overlook that, you're in for a good ride !!!

I know I wont be in the majority, but I think the director got Superman more than he did Batman. I sort of came out of the theatre fangirling on Supes' side ^____^

oh and the trailers were all upcoming superhero titles for me. i was literally in comicbookmovieheaven :D

You right, they didn't give much thought to names back then

Can anyone seriously try and claim the editing is tolerable in this? I am surprised how amateur the transitions are.

I think the same thing every time I watch any Star Wars movie. Those fucking screen wipe transitions just scream "I'm 12 and I just started learning powerpoint".

Well I finally saw it tonight.

I didn't like MoS and I didn't really like this either, although I probably don't hate it as much as MoS. I don't feel the need to ever see it again though.
Also the scene when WW scanned the other meta human data felt really shoehorned in and people in the cinema actually laughed at Aquaman.

That Aquaman part looked really weird, he stared like 1 min into screen and then just left lol

Plan to see it this weekend. Not deterred by the negative reviews, people weren't a fan of MoS and I still liked it. Will probably see it alone since none of my family is big on DC movies.

Disgusted in Flash? lol I thought he only has a glorified bit cameo...you have me intrigued. I'm really looking forward to seeing this on Sunday.

The Star Wars transitions are garbage and I've never liked them, but they're a franchise staple at this point. Getting rid of them would just make people mad

They are meant to cheesy. Star Wars would not work without them. It would just look and feel wrong.

The cameos were a bit weird.
I think there was no need to show the clips. They could've left only the logos and cut when Wonder Woman was about to open the files. That would've saved a couple of minutes and left people intrigued

I must say that there are many shots that look like comic book panels brought to life.

The screen wipes in Star Wars are a visual homage to Flash Gordon (well, they were; now they're just an homage to older Star Wars :lol).

Yup, taking my kids on Saturday. Pretty sure we will all geek out hard. My kids are also well-versed in DC lore, so it will be interesting to see how they relate the movie to the comics.

Well to get you excited, there's (sort of) a very brief cameo appearance of a c-tier batman villain, somewhere in the middle of the movie.
