have you seen the movie?Just can't do Ben Affleck as Batman. Just can't do it...
Maybe I saw a different movie because I went expecting to hate it and by the end, I kind of liked it overall.
This is the last day of reviews summed up. It became a contest of who can say the most outlandish shit judgment.people hate movies they haven't seen just because someone else hate it already, the lack of opinion is tremendous nowadays
It's pretty obvious he hates Superman for what he is and stands for and also hates to see anyone more powerful than him.Lex was... ok. That's not the lex luthor i have in my mind. But i didn't mind his weirdness and manneirisms. And i don't get his master plan. What's his end goal?
I'd rank BvS slightly below MoS.
Lex Luthor in this is trying to break down the notion of a hero, and show the world that even the god they worship (being Superman) can be broken. It's what I got out of the movie as a whole, that heroes aren't always heroes because they are called that and that they do hurt those they are trying to save. It's pretty obvious he hates Superman for what he is and stands for and also hates to see anyone more powerful than him.
I just don't get the whole argument from reviewers that it has no humour like Marvel. Sure it isn't as "lel look at me being funny" but it does have quips from the characters, especially Alfred. Going into the cinemas with reviewers stating there was no humour and then having humour just made realise even more that these reviews are trash (in my opinion of course) and just rushed to get that negativity circlejerk.I've just seen it - I don't get the overwhelming negativity surrounding this movie. It feels very different that the past Batman Trilogy and the Marvel movies which comes at no surprise. It's more in line with Man of Steel (duh) and has some problems.
Batman v Superman was a really bad idea to begin with in my opinion. Before this movie, DC should have made a complete reboot of all the characters. It is like if Marvel wanted to start with the Avangers before making the Iron Man, Thor, Captain America movies. It just wouldn't work. Another thing that I really hate about DC is that they separate their TV Shows from their Movies. So the fact that they decided to use a complete different actor for Flash was a HUGE mistake. Anyway, I'm not at all surprised by the bad reviews because it was doomed to flop since the beggining.

BUT it's by no means worse than most of the Marvel movies. It handles Batman well, Superman okay, has kinda interesting themes, has a weird Lex Luthor with no clear agenda - a standard superhero movie last third. It falls into the same trap many Marvel movies fall into. A very interesting setup, a good second act watered down by a not completely thought out or faceless villain followed by a firework of explosions.
All of that amounts to a solid superhero movie. Not great, not bad.
I liked some things a lot. Some people are complaining about the beginning - it was a really interesting way to start the movie and to portray everyone's motivations. I also liked the slow setup. The music was pretty great - especially the Wonder Woman theme. The cinematography was pretty well done too most of the time.
Thesequence was weird, but if you can roll with it, it was very interesting. I'd love a whole movie like that.Batman vision/nightmare
People going in expecting the best thing ever or something as good as the Dark Knight won't find it here. People who go in looking for every little piece to complain about, will find plenty - but you can find stuff like this in most movies. Especially Superhero movies.
If you watch this movie with adjusted expectations you're gonna have a good time - I guess. Depends on how you roll.
I enjoyed it more than Man of Steel, a lot more than The Dark Knight Rises and possibly Age of Ultron. And I'm excited for the extended cut and whatever they do next with this universe.
P.S. Alfred was great!
This from a cancelled WW show or something?
You mean will. It's coming this October, and yes, I think it's easily salvageable by a good cut, because the story is good. For those who have already seen it, do you think a better cut could've saved it?

It would definitely have helped with some of the quirks, but not everything. For those who have already seen it, do you think a better cut could've saved it?

Failed experiment gone wrong basically. He had his intentions but like every failed experiment it becomes clear he was wrong, in that aspect. Doesn't mean he'll stop though in trying to prove that heroes aren't heroic.Ok. I get that.
But his plan could have ultimately killed everyone.
I think his motivations makes sense. But not his actions.
Thatwas Barry doing what Barry does best, fucking with the timeline. Seems like the closest to a live-action Flashpoint Paradox we'll ever get.
Ah, yes, absolutely and definitely agree on that.Yes, it's not weird in the way what it's portraying, but in the way they incorporated it into the movie. It is pretty important for Bruce's motivations to end Superman, but the way it's randomly thrown into the mix and accepted by Batman is just weird. Everyone I went with who isn't into comic books at all and just watches the movies and the tv-shows had no idea what the hell that was. It's weird having the Flash directly speaking to Batman without knowing who he is and what his powers are. And it will be interesting what Story beats and designs they revisit in the coming years. Will Louis die anyway? Will the Aliens look like that?
For those who have already seen it, do you think a better cut could've saved it?
Yeah, the Adrienne Palicki pilot (David E. Kelley?) that never got picked up to series.
Seen it, solid 7 out of 10. Entertaining but not the big step up from MoS that I'd hoped for. The big problem is it it doesn't deliver the way that say, the Avengers did. It's not ok for The Batman V Superman to end up as a decent popcorn flick. I was never wowed. The fact that it didn't live up to expectations is why it's getting exaggerated as a terrible film. It's better than Batman forever by far, yet has reviewed worse. That's just dumb.
Batfleck was great though, I'm officially sold on him. Gal Gadot also performed well, i'm certain her solo film is going to work. Supes is just alright.
Ben Affleck as Batman was pretty much praised by everyone, so he definitely wasn't the problem (from the reviews I've read). I'll see it sometime this weekend to pass final judgement unless something comes up.Saw it, enjoyed it. I don't really get all the hate. Affleck is the best Bat in my book. But opinions and such.
I have to say this is probably the second worst modern superhero movie yet (since iron man). Fantastic 4 still holds the crown though.

Surprise surprise. People I trust and share common tastes with really enjoyed it and that's very encouraging.Very divisive here, people either hate it, or think it's ok and much better than reviews say.
