Trump wants to surveillance all mosques, and ban Muslims from entering the US.

And you think Cruz doesn't???

He actually tried to pass religious test legislation.
Cruz is Trump + religion.
Makes his convictions that much more deluded and harder to shake.

Trump is a goddamn genius. How did so many of his businesses fail?

He is good at marketing his name and getting attention. Running an actual business? Not really

I don't know how americans react to news like this.
Is this good for Cruz or bad, do people care about these things or not?

It's very bad for any politician. It's worse for Cruz because the only people that like him are evangelicals.

Cruz is trying to downplay it by pinning it on Trump, but it's undoubtedly going to be a running joke for the rest of his campaign, and if there's any smidgen of truth to it then his career is over.

Can Trump have a "It's RUBIO!" moment with Ted Cruz if this is true?
Just take a picture with 5 women for example.

I'm so delighted that he's done for. Allies and enemies alike are banding together to sink him. True unity.

He could try eating a booger on live television.

Don't listen to the smears. 90% of all businesses fail in the first 5 years. Trump has hundreds of successful ventures (including Trump Steaks, Trump Wine, Trump Vodka, Trump Hotel, and Trump Tower). He only had 4 businesses declare bankruptcy, during economic downturns, and to be honest he didn't need to, he could have covered the debts with his enormous wealth, but he did it to take advantage of bankruptcy laws and save himself millions. Trump is just as much of a business genius as he is a media genius. If you don't believe me, just read his best-seller "Art of the Deal." It explains everything.

Lol I wish I knew how to avatar quote. Can't tell if this is parody or not.

So how is the repercussion of this? I'm not american.

Is this damaging Cruz's campaign?

It is certainly a distraction...
There is too much fire at the moment to dismiss it outright as a rumor, so we kinda have to wait to see if anything becomes substantiated or it fades away.

Man, if this is a lie Id be so pissed if I were Cruz haha.

Trump: At the end of the day, we can't have people dying in the streets.
Cruz: Why not?

I remember something to this effect.

Cruz's response was actually "Is the government going to pay for it?"

It was disgusting.

Which isn't going to fly because Cruz just used the excuse that he had nothing to do with the SuperPAC decision to run the ad featuring Trump's wife.

Cruz's "I didn't know anything about that" denial is perfect cover for Trump to deny any knowledge or involvement with this rumor/leak/etc. Cruz has already established that "unknown supporters" will do things without the permission of knowledge of a candidate.

Trump is a goddamn genius. How did so many of his businesses fail?

He's actually not that bad. But he lets his ego get in the way and I think a general stock index would have beaten his personal performance. Still not incompetent.

Stock index beats him if you start at an arbitrary date and assume Trump wouldn't spend lavishly like he normally does.

Not sure if I'm ready to jump on the National Enquirer scoops...

erm, hed be worth like 5x his current value if he had invested his inheritance in index funds

Has Cruz made any mention of a lawsuit against the NE? He's a lawyer and a pretty good one at that. I would have thought he'd make it known he was suing if the allegations were categorically false.

What's so hard to believe?

Lawsuits are for Democrats. Ted will ask voters to look into their hearts and cast judgment.

Not a parody. Trump has a stellar business record. He gets attacked by politicians who, frankly, don't know anything about how businesses work. I should also mention that Trump went to Wharton, the top business school in America. Don't let his colloquialisms fool you, that's just to add to his populist appeal. I'm sure he knows a lot of big words he just don't use them in his speeches.

Yet another lie used by the media. I looked this up: Trump inherited his father's real estate business (which Trump himself helped build), which was worth about $40 million. At one point in the 80s it was worth about $200 million. Then some dishonest article claimed if he had put the $200 million in an index fund at that point in time, it would be worth more today. Okay sure, if you cherry-pick the point in Trump's life where his net worth was the highest, then put it in an index fund (which isn't even possible because his assets aren't liquid but that's beside the point). Anyway, the point is don't listen to the dishonest media, they don't know what they're talking about.

No need to Trumpsplain to me. I'm well aware of Trump's past and his business record. Yep he's just foolin me by not using his full vocabulary!

And holy shit, are you being paid by Trump? "Don't take my word for it, read his best selling book!" You sound like a broken record.

Because he's not really a genius but rather the people around him.

Spoken like someone with zero CEO experience. One of the hardest things to do in business is to recruit good people and put them in the right positions. Trump has a natural talent for finding the best people and recruiting the best talents. If he were elected I have no doubts his cabinet would have the best people.

This is one of the biggest secrets of his business success. Again if you don't believe me, go read his best-selling book "The Art of the Deal."

Donald Trump's unfavorables are so bad, even (or especially) in comparison to Ted Cruz's. Mormons, women, degreed individuals, black folks, Latino/a folks, etc. all have made up their mind on him already. Nothing is really going to change that.

Nothing will change Donald Trump's favorability once he pivots to a GE in comparison to Ted Cruz? I'm not talking Kasich or Hillary here. Favorability data can be a useful reference for 2 GE candidates late in a presidential race. I don't think Ted Cruz will put out better results vs. Hillary Clinton because of his current favorables or has an opportunity to win that Trump can't match.

I also, at the risk of someone claiming "hindsight is 20/20," don't see Trump's success as very surprising. The party had primed their voters for this sort of thing by stoking racial and gender animus for fifty years and pairing it with Reagonomics. The GOP was giving signs that it was weak as far back as 2008 when guys like Mike Huckabee were winning caucuses, and it was definitely a warning sign in 2012 when establishment favorite Mitt Romney had to fend off people like Gingrich, Cain, and Bachmann.

The mistake everyone made was thinking that the Republican Party was strong enough to smooth over the friction within its own base.

I rationalize the unexpected too..in fact I think I've said similar things in the ^ quote like I knew it all along because x, y, and z...but c'mon you didn't really predict Trump would be in his current position given what you knew before the fact? Did you?

I give Donald Trump all the credit in the world for being politically savvy enough to exploit the weakness of the GOP, but getting 35% of 47% of all voters in a primary season where you have to rush to the right to capture the hearts and minds of the True Believers is absolutely nothing like having to win 49% of 100% of the voting public in a general election.

Reminds of me the argument when Lyin' Ted Cruz brags about winning states vs. Trump. He can't do either one so what does that say about his candidacy for POTUS?

This shit is insane #thething. Lmao. Reminds me of my work. Some ugly ass dude banged bunch of girls at work. None of the girls were ugly, and none would admit banging the guy lol.

It's something I never understood with politicians. The ones who praise good family and Christian values are always the ones to be caught.

I think it's great that Cruz tried to use Trumps Wife as an excuse not to vote for Trump and it backfired spectacularly.

Trump has never gone on about being faithful, and as far as I am aware he always has been a good family man but clearly doesn't need to use it for political point scoring.

Trump will win the candidacy, he is very clever, untouchable, and has the come backs for great sound bites.

Cruz needs to be careful as this could be his whole career down the drain if this is true.

We're never going to hear about this because who would admit to having sex with Ted Cruz? Were they in some sort of sex desert and the only way to survive was the equivalent of cutting the camel open? A slimey guy with a melting, punchable face pulling women like that. Feels bad man.

Ted Cruz is actually a really funny guy. I appreciate his sense of humor.
