Dark Souls III [Import OT] Kindle the fire, one last time

Okay I'm getting a bit frustrated now.

I beat the big old tree. The only place I can think to go next is down the lift where you meet onion knight. The only problem is that dog thing is fucking insanely strong and I can't kill it. Is that really where I'm supposed to go next?

Holy crap at the performance in
the graveyard after the Crystal Sage
, it's even worse than Blighttown
edit-
oh wait, you mean the poison swamp. that's pretty bad but eh, I wouldn't go that far.

Get the
worm
between yourself and the
ballista
, and watch it getting hit by bolts, it will be down in no time. I think it dropped a
miracle
and that miracle is complete utter shit, I've yet to find WoG so this Faith build is still so damn useless, going to respec soon.

You need to use the upright with legs crossed sitting emote next to that stone dragon in the tower of latria looking area with those weird women wearing branding irons
.
where exactly is that
stone dragon?
I don't recall finding it.

Yup!

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this but: is amazon the best website to buy Japanese psn cards?

Fuck it I'm double dipping this I don't think I can wait two more weeks.

I just
equipped my bow and picked it off from the roof as the onion knight attacked it. That area there leads to a dead end. I never found a way past it so used a bone back to the last bonfire.

You guys seriously didn't have performance issues in
the area before the big cathedral? With all the infinitely spawning white corpses.
Maybe my game is having issues because I'm offline then, even though I set it to offline in the menu.

I haven't seen any videos of people using magic.

Does it just suck in this game?

I initially started as a sorcerer, but the damage just wasn't that impressive compared to what you give up in terms of mobility. It'll probably be stronger later on, but eh.

Damn it. Maybe I'll just go with a pure dex build then.

Or str/dex so I can use any weapon I want. Some of the great swords are pretty fucking cool.

Probably slightly LTTP with this particular boss (located in C
athedral of the Deep)
but D
eacons of the Deep with Pontiff's left eye ring on = easy mode

So I beat D
eacons
O
f
T
he
D
eep
but I heard there's another boss in this area. Any idea where to go at this point?

Aww yeah found a new Katana
Black Blade, also found a chaos gem in the same area.

Also really liking the curved greatsword, love the moveset, it's fast and does good damage.

end-game area
Lothric Castle
is so damn good. looks great, top-notch design and it was a clear reminder of 1-3/1-4 from Demon's. probably the best one so far.
I have no idea how I killed
the 2 dragons, I mean, I killed the thing in their hand and then they just die? Uh.

you can tell Miyazaki-sama handcrafted the area himself and the B-team had nothing to do with it. :^)
I'm joking, however there is some staggering difference between some locations in both design and looks. they go from crap / average at best to amazing.

The first few times I went through, it was OK but now for me it's runs in slow motion.

Daaaang. Is there a bonfire closer than the
bridge?
It's kind of a pain to run all that way.
Nope, sorry. There's one right after though! He's not to hard, just use a shield.

Never once, that's really weird.

Hello!

If I already modified a weapon to have fire damage, and I use another stone to modify it to something else, I won't be getting back that fire modifier stone, right?

Just want to make sure.

I have hit my skill ceiling with the Gr
and
Arc
hieves
boss
the prince
, so I would appreciate advice on any optional path that I have missed:

The bosses I have killed are
Vordt, Rotted Greatwood, Crystal Sage, Deacons of the Deep, Abyss Watchers, High Lord Wolmir, Pontiff Sulyvahn, Yhorm, Aldrich, Dancer, Consumed Oceiros, Champion Gundyr, Dragonslayer Armour

I have one lead that I never resolved: in the catacombs
there is a lake with some items visible just before the Wolmir boss fight. How do I get there?

Cut the bridge and then wait a bit. Then use the destroyed bridge as a ladder.
Have fun with the new big areas.

God this game feels way bigger than Dark Souls 1 doesn't it? There are so many branches and shit to explore and different ways when you fight which boss. Absolutely crazy and I love it. Enemy designs are awesome and fuck invisble enemies.

Pyromancy scales from both fth and int, right?

Yes, that is also why Pyromancy does a ton of damage in comparisson to miracles and sorcery (and also hexs)

Yes

(6-7 boss fight)
Just beat Wolnir, what an amazing fight, when you walk to the treasure and that big think just appears out fucking nowhere with the music...chills man

God bless you From, never stop making such amazing games.

It doesn't help that you give up health estus for mana estus either, atleast if you want to consistently use your magic on non-bosses. (You decide the ratio health <> mana estus yourself, so if you're melee you can just get away with going full health estus)

I'd expect Pyromancy to be great for PvE but awful for PvP, as usual.
talking about offensive spells^, there might be buffs worth using for PvP.

No other items around that replenish mp other than the mana estus?

Hmm. I wonder if assigning points evenly between int, fth and dex would be spreading them too thin and damage output would be super low later in the game. Int/fth/dex/str would be dumb at least, I'd imagine.

My guess is like in DS2 after 30/30 you'll see minimal benefits.

Okay, done for today. 8 bosses down!
By the way, when I sort trophies by rarity, I'm missing one between (boss spoilers)
Abyss Watcher
and
those funky fireball throwing skeletons
. If I missed a boss, could someone tell me how to get to the area with it?

~75-90 levels spent between damage boosting stats alone sounds a bit hardcore to me.

I have to admit, there are some positives to the game getting released so much earlier in Japan. Namely, I'll probably know what kind of build I want to go for by the 12th.

Just saw that scrolling message saying their servers are receiving malicious attacks and there may be sudden disconnects as a result :/

Is there some DDOS "squad" that's all mad because the game didn't have a simultaneous release or something?

Not to my knowledge, but ofcourse I don't know everything there is to know about the game.

Angry Namco employees trying to get back at people buying the game directly from From. :P

Am I missing something at the end of C
athedral
of
Deep
? I beat the boss but doesn't seem there is anything to do or anywhere else to go. Is that whole area actually optional?

OMFG that
dragon rider boss
. the visuals, design and animations. From outdone themselves

is this really DS3 or GOW3? best boss ever..

It's not optional. You got an item that will allow you to access a new area.

Anyone know where to get Titanite Slabs? I found one, but would like to find another to try out another weapon.

That's what I've been wondering too, I really hope that most of the damage still comes from upgrading the pyromancy flame. I might just get intelligence and faith to 20 and leave it at that.

Has anyone done any testing as to how much impact dexterity has on casting speed? DS2 had numbers visible on the stats screen, but for some reason they've decided to make it hidden again. If it scales very well then dexterity caster builds are going to have a huge advantage over strength.

Mid game NPC question:
Where is Horus in the Catacombs? I found a tough as nails NPC with a greatsword in the optional area but i'm sure that wasn't him.

hes in a cave in izalith. It's around the perimeter of the water where the ballista shoots at you.

This game has engrossed me in the same way the original Dark Souls and Bloodborne did. When I'm not playing it, I'm thinking about it constantly.

I never double dip, but think I'll make the exception here. Caved and bought the Xbox version to play it early, but still want it on PS4 since that's where I usually play the Souls games, plus the fact it seems the unpatched version is supposedly easier than the updated one means I'll want to play from the very beginning pretty soon anyway.
