Dark Souls III [Import OT] Kindle the fire, one last time

For those that can remember what lvl were you at for the
abyss watchers battle.
I'm only lvl 24 and my vit is 19 and I just feel so squishy.

I'm tempted to go back and farm a bit so I can get my vit up.

I might be confused, because I see the boss in three phases. 1st as alone, then the other guys show up, then his flame sword stage.

To the other guy:

In the flame sword stage I dunno, I just rolled around him and smacked him in the back in between recovery frames.

Just run by them. There's a ledge under the bridgeway that you can fall down to in order to get into the castle. Same for the next step, but I had to homeward bone back to the bonfire because once they spew flame the floor is lava >.>

I tried that couldn't find a way forward. Just a random
Ice Knight

Look at this jump you can make early in the game to get access to some stuff early.

early game spoil obviously

I actually found this on my own!

(late game spoiler)

except I did it in the other one :(

How easy is it to cheese the game with leveling? I'm "replaying" SotFS for the first time since I did a normal DS2 run, and I'm just tearing through everything with NPC summons and a shitload of health/strength.

Note, I like to play this way. I like the atmosphere, loot and the sense of exploration. I don't really care for the challenge.

None of the souls games are insusceptible to this.

I was 30 but my vit was only at 14. What armor/rings/weapons are you using? That might make a difference.

I was probably around 25 with around 12 vit, but I summoned help for that boss fight.

There's a Nashandra picture in Anor Londo
And there's a picture of Zelda U in Twilight Princess HD! Like that's a reference, and one that doesn't really make sense in the context of the game at that. That actually makes no sense if you think of it as anything more than a fun little Easter egg because they had to put in a DS2 reference somewhere.

I just did that and was 36 though my vigor was 20.

I am finally getting wrecked by a boss.

Aldritch is just destroying me after he gets more aggressive and starts really spamming magic.

How do you get the item at the top of firelink shrine? I already bought/used the tower key but didn't see a way to get to that.

Edit: As usual asking here makes me find it immediately ingame.

Anyone know how to use the
Dragon form
? I have three parts but I can't use them.

So, I'm having a gander at what
the crow trades for
.

So far,
lorettas bone and proof of a concord kept give rings but I have no idea what because button queuing made me back step off the path twice in a row and the items dissappeared.

4.
Look into or find the Mound Maker Covenant before defeating the boss in the second main area, beating the boss will lock you out of the covenant if you've not discovered it by that time.

Aww rip, I locked myself out of that. I guess that's the price you pay for playing a souls game blind

Wait....There's a
crow as like sparkles that you can trade with?

Where is this?

WoG sucks, rip Faith builds.

the problem is that it takes too long to cast, even with the ring. unless high Dex makes the cast much faster (is that even confirmed?) it's just awful for pvp. the damage isn't even very high.
even if Dex makes casting faster there are too many stat points needed for it to be an actual decent build.

Wait nooo noooooo FUCK. Why would they do this? Are we talking Ds2 levels of slow WoG?

This completely kills my Str/Faith build as I was hoping that WoG would at least be good. I can deal with Low damage but to nerf the cast speed too is ridiculous. The weapon I want to use requires 50 Str and 30 Faith plus it probably weighs an ass ton so Ill have to up my Vitality too. No way I can up Dex as well and expect to be anywhere near the PvP meta. siiiiigh

If you feel better believing that.

I mean, makes totally sense comparing a nod to an upcoming game on a remaster done by an entirely different team than a direct reference to a prequel in a sequel of a game who takes very seriously every visual element introduced in the game as a storytelling form.

I unfortunately can't summon as im on the xb1 version that's offline :(

I'm pleased I got hold of
havels ring earlier

That actually sounds so wrong lol.

If you were willing to do some farming, there's a pretty good spot close to you. Right after the closest bonfire to the boss you're at, there are two darkwraith dudes coming up the hill. I farmed those for a bit. They are 2.5K souls each (2.75K if you have the silver serpent ring). They also drop loads of armor and dark swords. I added a few levels pretty quickly this way.

this allows access to
the crow, an estus flask upgrade shard, and the serpent ring
right at the very start of the game without buying any $20,000 key. Only took a few tries honestly though maybe I got lucky.

SlipperyLazyGadwall.gif

Ahh holy shit, I was literally just about to buy that key! Souls saved, awesome.

Fast board

Again, how are graphics and difficulty compared to BB?

Also are there any game breakly good builds yet ?

Graphics are pretty damn good overall, imo. The artistic direction and design is awesome. It does use the same/slightly tweaked engine as Bloodborne, and there are similar assets used so it feels familiar, but it doesn't feel like you're playing Bloodborne pt.2 if that makes sense. It looks like a Souls game, and in my opinion I think it looks better than Bloodborne.

Difficulty-wise it feels harder than Bloodborne to me, in that the 'regular' enemies are a lot harder and can f you up easily. There's lots of ambush moments and some tough mini-bosses. The actual bosses aren't too hard early on(although I did die 4 times to the second boss), but I'm expecting that to ramp up from what people have been saying here.

I'm on the Storm King... how the hell do you avoid the move where the dragon flies up and breathes fire down? I have gotten hit by that every single time in all of my 10+ attempts... first boss that's been a brickwall for me.

I'm in this area and it took me forever to find it. Let me know if you need help.

On that note, does anyone know where the second bonfire is in this area? I need one closer to the boss.

I might have missed one but I just found the boss and the fire I'm at isn't too far away.
It's by one of those rolling skeleton balls on the other side of the gate you see when you come down the big staircase.

Also, more proof that the Giants (like Yorm in the intro) aren't a DS2 reference (kinda huge spoilers for DS3)

You find the corpse of the giant (or "really tall person" as some have found the need to dub him lol) blacksmith in Anor Londo. He's the same kind of giant as you see in the courtyard below and in the Cathedral. It's hard to see because of the mask, but this dude has a hole in his face just like Yorm.

So I don't want to hear any more of this "what do you mean this game doesn't celebrate DS2 lore, there's a giant!" nonsense. There have always been giants. The main antagonist (?) of DS1 was a giant, and he had even gianter giants do his work for him.

Wow, just made it with a quarter health and no estus... that is no joke of a path. And I'm certain I saw rolling skeletons on the floor below fml.

PvE mages suck dick in this game unfortunately. They didn't design the game around it.

The enemies are extremely aggressive in this game, yet spells still cost a shit ton of STAMINA (which is their way of fixing spells in slow ass games like DkS2). But it doesn't fit this game at all because enemies EASILY avoids your spells, and you can't do shit about it.

How to fix PvE casters in this game, FROM:

- either make spells cost A LOT less stam, or nothing at all
or
- let the character cancel out the spells

Moronic decisions.

Dude,

There's a DS2 giant corpse in the firelink shrine, like the ones you found in DS2 that transports you to the giant memories

Yeah, that doesn't really do anything though. I'm also willing to bet that's just
a corpse of one of the giants that actually appear in the game, like Yorm
.

I have one unresolved exploration thing left in I
rithyll
, and would appreciate help finding the right way.

Going from the C
entral
I
rithyll
bonfire in this direction:
screenshot-originalaiuki.png

The first side path to the left has a gate that opens from the other side:
screenshot-original12zuz1.png

How do I get to the area behind this gate? I went through a large part of the area trying to look for hidden walls, drop down points and so on, but I have not been successful getting there.

Please gaf, help me with this.

Please gaf, help me with this.

Head back from the third bonfire in Irythill to the area with two guys with big sticks shooting fire (and heaps of other enemies). Hug the right wall to get to a small overlook. Hit the railing on the right side to reveal the hidden path.
