...why is there a Batsignal if the cops want him dead & he is just murdering people?

Shouldn't the police should have just shot him during his Doomsday fight?

Whyyyyyyyyyy
I know you know the answer to this

why make up dumb questions you know the answer to

Batman doesn't light the signal for himself. The signal is lit by someone, Batman shows up. Superman told Batman not to show up next time it was lit. Did Batman think Superman would waste time spying on whether or not he did?

As it was, Batman waited for a long time, staring at the sky.

Yeah I think he was waiting there motionlessly staring up into the sky for like 27 in-universe minutes or something.

Also a lot of things wouldn't have worked in this movie if Superman had used his x-ray vision like at all.

Another absolutely mind-numbing post.

Yes, the police are going to say, "look, that vigilante we don't all love is trying to fight that 30 foot monster, let's shoot him while he isn't looking!"

Are you fucking kidding me?

Lex to Supes:

I honestly feel this Superman is still getting to grip with his powers (it sounds flimsy I know.)

He could have easily scanned Gotham with X-ray vision for Martha, unless Lead was involved.

He can move at amazing speeds, he could have probably contained some of the blast from the courtroom explosion.

Look, I get it, he's as powerful in the moment as the plot needs him to be, but it seems wildly inconsistent.

I was hoping the floating would then lead to a shot of the funeral goers lifting him out of the hole with a winch or something.

But nope...actual floating.
But, you realize he didn't ACTUALLY float, right? He even says, "In the dream..." right after the shot. I was cringing too when it started to happen, but then as soon as he states it's just a version of the dream he has about it, I was like, "ok, so it's not literal".

After that, he said that in his dream, he flied. That wasn't shocking with this sentence
I know he said it was a dream. I'm saying it didn't need to be. You literally do not need that shot. You can end that sequence with Bruce looking up and no longer afraid, and you're golden.

Instead, I heard nothing but fucking laughter at the ridiculousness of it.

THE BELLS HAVE BEEN RUNG!
What does that even mean? That he somehow knew of Darkseid and somehow knew he would notice earth once we detonated a nuclear warhead in space? Or Doomsdays explosion thing? And he intended this somehow?

I get this batman, I get this superman, I don't get this lex at all.

No. I guess the military gave up to...sooo

Still doesn't answer the signal question. So, no its not mind numbing.

Even in Nolan's movies they still had a Batsignal when the cops were chasing him. There's a Batsignal cause he's Batman.

You do need that shot. It fits thematically with Batman's religious conflict. He keeps seeing Superman in his dreams as either an angel or a demon.

I'd love for you to ask this question of the general public who doesn't know of Darkseid.

Love to hear what they come up with.

I mean, that's what they did with Superman. As soon as Superman was far enough away, they fucking nuked him. The general had to remind the president or whatever that Superman was an innocent that was going to die if they fired it, which all but explicitly shows how much the Gov values Superman's life.

If this was Snyder saying that, I would just assume he's about to commit genocide on all of Aquaman's supporting cast.

It'd be the same fucking thing as in Batman Begins.
And? They're redoing the fucking origin. You're inherently asking for redundancy. His parents also got shot, and pearls, and sad kid Bruce. You don't need to distinguish it with such hilariously on-the-nose imagery like "Yeah man, the bats lift him from the darkness! But like... literally. No like they are literally carrying him out of the darkness."

I think thats maybe a reference to Mother Box pinging?

Anyway interesting stuff I never though of from EW article:

Batman v Superman begins with a funeral — young Bruce Wayne attending the burial of his parents — and it ends with one, too.

Shouldn't the police should have just shot him during his Doomsday fight?

Whyyyyyyyyyy

He's been in Gotham for decades and the police have been working with him, like when they just let him into Lex's cell. If they were actually trying to catch him then they've been doing a really shitty job.

and you don't kill somebody while they are fighting a giant monster.

We don't exactly know what the situation with Batman is. Best guess is that there's a new Gotham City Commisioner who doesn't approve of Batman, thus him becoming the 'bat-vigilante' once again, but that seems strange after 20 years of continued Batman activity.

? We're talking about Bruce's origin montage, before the Metropolis destruction scene. You could literally cut the last 30 seconds of that intro, and you wouldn't end an otherwise great sequence with a fucking dumb image of Bruce literally being carried out of the cave by bats.

I wonder if the legless guy knew he was sitting on explosives? Also why did they waste Mercy like that?
I assumed he knew. But yeah, it was a waste of Mercy. I wanted her to bust out her robot arm or something. "She got fucked up in the Metropolis incident too, and I turned her into a goddamn cyborg."

That's largely my point. There is plenty of time to tell a Batman story. All I left with is A. Parents Are dead. And B. Wants to kill Supes.

what was up with the random title card at the beginning?

METROPOLIS

MANKIND IS INTRODUCED TO THE SUPERMAN

I thought for sure they would continue that convention throughout the movie and use chapter titles similar to something Tarantino would do

but no, of course they didn't

I don't even know what this movie is anymore

The scene where Batman and Superman make up is already on YT

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09YCRuAmpeU

oh my goooooooooooooooood

All of Batman's dreams have Superman imagery on it, or straight up Superman. Bruce being lifted up by the bats on a movie where he has a traumatic experience by an alien who can fly and is equated to a god. GEEE WHY WONDER IF WE SHOULD KEEP THIS SCENE

lol i totally forgot about that

That's the best time!

What was the point of doosmday having luthor's dna?
Doomsday without Luthors DNA would had been a Kriptonian, the machine warned that Kripton council baned any sort of cross species breading as it brought mutations, Doomsday looked and act like he was in the movie because of the combination of Kriptonian DNA and Human DNA.....I would love to see Clark and Lois kids.

The guy in the wheelchair who tagged the Superman statue, all pissed about the loss of his legs. He was given a new chair by Lex.

He wasn't pissed about losing his legs. Didn't you see the pictures of his wife and kids? He lost his family. Life sucked. He was getting help from the Wayne corporation, but then Lex started intercepting his checks, so then he even felt neglected and forgotten by his hero that saved his life. He was bitter and living in squalor (again, because of Lex), and then Lex shows up with a fancy, explosive wheelchair.

He didn't know the chair was explosive, he just wanted his day in court to face the man responsible for losing his legs, family, and means of taking care of himself.

If you already knew this, there are a dozen of other posters who do not, so i apologize for the tonw, but it is almost like people are deliberately trying to hate on parts of this movie for no reason.
