War Machine looks so badass.

Seriously those batons of Black Widow are low-tier as fuck. Compared to Mockingbird and Daredevil their nothing. I wonder which batons Sharon Carter is equipped with.

I really like Rhodey party scene in Age of Ultron when he tried to impress people with his story. Lol
Thor and Tony staring at him during this story is still funny.

"Screw you guys, it's a good story!"

Rhodey got several laughs out of me. Him shooting down Ultron units, yucking it up, being a bit cocky and then he sees Vision ripping through Ultrons and goes "wait what"

No "mask" for Zemo could be a ruse? Maybe he is wearing that mask thing Black Widow was using in winter soldier? Maybe impersonating Gen. Ross?

Third act could be cap and Bucky vs iron man fight in the prison.

Tony made a specific armour for him, the War Machine Mk II, which he used in IM3 and AoU. This seems to be War Machine Mk III. Tony took the Mk II back. I'm guessing Tony has a deal with the US government that he supplies them with the War Machine armour (and upkeep after IM3, since A.I.M. used to do it then) as long as it's used by Rhodes and not replicated. Basically, hey I'll give you an armour if you shut up.
As of AOU isn't War Machine a proper Avenger now? The MKIII would have been made without any need to involve the US.

I bet they're pissed about losing Iron Patriot.

I know it'll never happen but one can dream to see Tony pull of the proton cannon attack in a MCU film.

On topic, Black Panther looks great. I hope he flexes on team cap.

The really need to start going in to how these armors are functionally different.
But.. they've been doing that from the start and it's actually one of the stronger throughlines of the MCU?

How do you even arrive at this statement having watched movies in the MCU lol They introduce new, significant capabilities in every movie.

Really, I feel like IM2 was bad about that with its final armor.

It's mostly just that film tbh 3 had the chart.

Iron Man 2 was actually pretty good about the power increase. They gave him the one off after all. Age of Ultron was the worst about the armor though. There was no justification, outside of toy merchandise sales, for him to upgrade his armor. That was really when I thought they jumped the Iron Man armor shark. Iron Man 3 came close to pushing it though, where a lot of the armors were functionally similar but aesthetically different.

Mk III is still the best Iron Man armor ever.

Sure, not as complex or versatile as the new ones, but damn, just look at that.

Never got better than the mark 3. It actually looked like a suit, a believable suit, worn by a man. A suit that can protect and enhance said man. It looks chunky and bulky and like a man can fit inside it. I don't believe any of the latest suits. They don't look large enough to fit Tony to me. They also look too busy, design wise. There has been a general awesomification in the armours which I don't like. It was cool already it doesn't need to look 'anime cool'. The final suit from Ultron and the new one in Civil War are very 'anime' to me.

I had this same thought. Pushing the Avengers towards registration to keep them away from his plans.

"It looks like you're using an illegal version of STARK INDUSTRIES™ IRON MAN™ suit. Please enter your 25 character code that came with your purchase"

Rhodey: TONY, IT'S NOT FUNNY ANYMORE.

lol that would actually be a funny joke, but I don't see an sceneario where it'd make sense to put it.

Again, I think these criticisms are all flat out wrong.

Age of Ultron's biggest change to the armor is that it could interface with a larger exoskeleton, the Hulkbuster suit. And that's not something small or just for the toys.

Iron Man 3's armors were explicitly made for different functions. Some could sustain space flight, some dismembered quicker, some of extra lightweight, heavy load bearing, provided greater mobility underwater, the list goes on and on. It's not the most apparent because the house party sequence is too dark to see what's going on and most of them are just used as goons, but it's disingenuous to say otherwise. Those are about as significant changes as you see armor-to-armor in the movies otherwise.

The fact that Marvel has extended the innovations into the Avengers or adjacent series' alone is beyond the call of duty already, TBH.

When I'm talking about the AoU armor change, I'm not talking about the Mark 43. I'm talking about the Mark 45. That was the armor change that felt completely extraneous.

And while the Iron Man 3 armors have an extensive backstory, inside the actual film, a lot of them were functionally identical.

Iron Man 3 even uses that at a story level. All the suits represent all the threats Tony wants to be prepared for. At the same time, he's splitting himself too thin. During the final battle he's jumping in between all these aspects of himself and they barely get the job done, they are blown up one by one.

The Mk 43 is a humpty dumpty of an armor that literally breaks into pieces at his feet the moment the battle seems lost, then barely puts itself together to try and save the day. It works at a visual and thematic level. And to sell many toys.

Iron Man 3 is good. Too bad we won't have another Iron Man movie where these things can be explored more. I can't wait for a "space" armor tho. I hope they do that and do it justice.
