Steak > Pizza > Fried Chicken > Cheeseburger
my site gave it 9.9/10,
but i often giving score as joke.
Maybe we should Start a metacrit for every ranking.Yeah, and hardly anyone cares how other people rank stuff.
I dont see how anyone can put Dark Souls 2 over Bloodborne or Des.. It doesnt make much sense to me.
Polygon killing that average. This game is even reviewing well among mainstream sites like IGN.
Hmm, I expected it to get good reviews, but it seems to appear as though many feel it's a step down from Bloodborne, and perhaps shares some of the problems with DSII. I'm not reading many of the reviews myself as I want to go in as blind as possible, but I do still feel somewhat cautious, even if I know it's going to be a good game.
Part of me is thinking I should wait until they release the GOTY edition with all the DLC, but another part of me wants to play along with the community. I'll very probably buy it at launch, anyway.
Think From will pull another Scholar of the first Sin and release another DS3 version with rearranged enemies and all DLC in one? >.>
Too low a score or not, the Polygon review does make it sound like my biggest fear is true though, namely that the world is not really as diverse (visually) as the previous Souls games but instead more unified in its look like Bloodborne. That would be a shame for me as it would greatly hamper my sense of adventure and journeying.
In most terms: level design, size, bosses, world design, build variety, etc..the game is as good or better than BB.
Most people impressions in the OT is that is an excellent game on the level of DS1.
You don't want to miss this with the community trust me.

They also complain about bonfires and shortcuts sometimes being placed almost non-sensically,
Did the Gaffers and other reviews (who I have not read yet) who have been so positive about the game simply value others things more instead of the world design (which Is no.1 for me on my priority list), things like the combat, bosses, PvP system etc., or is Polygon simply being too negative here?

My ranking:
DS1> DeS> DS2> Bloodborne
DS3 (?)
Well, I'm sure I'll like it more than Bloodborne.
Good, very good. And I hear it has an OST on par or better than Bloodborne, the game with the best soundtrack up to this point. Can you confirm?

Cant wait for Dark Souls 3 though.

Maybe because they're on PC and don't run like absolute horrid shit.
Soundtrack is amazing

So, those who have played 3, is it true what Polygon says? Mostly linear? just.. level after level? (not asking about the levels themselves, pls no spoilers).
I'm at roughly 30hrs and have the last 2 bosses to finish and I completely disagree with the Polygon review. I respect Phil's opinion, but outside of his mentioning the technical issues (which are true) I don't agree with his view of the world and the story it creates. The areas are larger and far more intricate than the previous souls games. There are plenty of secrets to discover and I definitely had a few "oh shit" moments exploring the world. The environments are steeped with lore and nods to the previous entries, tying it all together.

Yes, this was my greatest hope coming off of Dks2.The comments about a lack off physical labyrinthine design are disappointing.

They also complain about bonfires and shortcuts sometimes being placed almost non-sensically, i.e. too close to each other in the case of the former, or with minimum benefits / keys right next to a locked door in case of the latter. This, also, would be unfortunate if true.

I think the goals from DkS1 were far different from what the rest of the series wanted. DkS1 never felt like I was journeying through a kingdom, just a city that's unfortunately stacked. It was definitely a cool feeling and added to the eldritch-badness of it (this place is built on top of some dire shit. Dig too deep, etc, etc), but I enjoy the epic journey that DkS3 invokes. You're searching, and what you're searching for is far-spread.Yes, this was my greatest hope coming off of Dks2.
Fack, was really hoping they would go for a dks1 world again.
Game branches in a few points, including secret areas. I think he clearly missed them. BB was more linear.
