Damn..UWP is up to such a great start. Every single big game out on it has been a pure mess![]()
I think that might be a tad hyperbolic.
Wasn't that just a feature? That's better than FF XIII on Steam where pressing ESC would instantly quit the game without warning.
the game's so good, one would never want to quit it
i would say pretty laggy unless you have flawless optic connectiomI am curious how the supposed streaming in 4K (no option to download) of the TV series will work when multiple people start doing it on release.
Is it? Tomb Raider sucking compared to Steam version, Gears being shoddy port with insane hardware requirements, KI with the hilarious refresh rate bug and now this.
Bassicaly every single big release has some big problems. It's almost to a point already where the "UWP= mess" stigma will become permanent.
Damn..UWP is up to such a great start. Every single big game out on it has been a pure mess![]()
But UWP is just a sandbox, there is nothing inherently wrong with it.
I bought Tomb Raider on it and it's totally fine.
Not.I bought Tomb Raider on it and it's totally fine.
Sub 30 on LOW kinda sounds like VSynch/Display Refresh rate issues. I mean this can't possibly be THAT bad a port.
Not.
http://www.howtogeek.com/243012/why...er-and-other-pc-games-from-the-windows-store/
The only people I know that bought it on the Windows store did it because it was cheaper on the Ukrainian or Indian one, so they paid like 10 bucks on release. You too?
You must be lying because NeoGAF says it's bad so it must be bad.paid full price on the australian store and its is indeed fine....have had no issues with any of the windows 10 store games for that matter (with the exception of a contacting server issue at gears launch but thats not a uwa prob)
If you don't like the look of the game and don't want it then i completely understand but to not play a game you might have loved solely because you don't like the way it's being delivered is just missing something which could be special.
The comment had nothing to do with MS defense force or PC gamer mentality but gaming in general. We are always jumping through various hoops to play games we think might be interesting or enjoy. Be it saving money for ages, buying a console for just one game, going through various import cartridges to find one that worked on Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the snes.. Playing those games was far more important than how it was delivered and you did what ever it took to play it.
We are now in a time when games are immediately available and we can be picky because there is so much choice but to rule out games solely because you don't want a company to succeed in something is far worse for gaming longevity then anything MS can do.
What if Remedy go bust because not enough people played the PC game due to this ? A company which has solidly put out games for years and still has many great stories to tell in the future. We would lose that because people didn't like a digital game delivery method.
I don't mean to rant and it's certainly not to defend MS but more that I find it sad that people are willing to be so stubborn to play something which could turn into their favorite game ever. You never know
It's sad now to see thast people are fans of corporations rather then the gaming content.

Can't install where you want. CAN
Can't use mods. COMING though to what extent?
Can't access vsync. COMING
Can't run without running the shitty store. nothing wrong with the store
Can't run on windowed CAN or fullscreen mode. COMING I THINK?
You must be lying because NeoGAF says it's bad so it must be bad.
1: There is an overabundance of good games releasing, faster than I can possibly play them. It's a buyer's market and I have absolutely no reason to negotiate or compromise or lower my standards for any single game being held hostage by a publisher.
2: some things about the pc platform are just more important to me than instant gratification.
If my supporting quantum break on windows 10 helps UWA's chances on pc then that means I will just skip it.
I like remedy and their games but I'm not a child and can do without a particular toy. The world will not end if I don't play quantum break.
The platform I use for my hobby will be ruined if people support UWP though.
Not even the worst part apparently.

Honestly, I'm not fussed EVER about having the controller as the prime option. It is my main input method. Skyrim felt better with controller, the likes of Bioshock and Deus Ex HR were absolutely fantastic.
I just don't get this inherent disdain about reaching for a bit of plastic.
KB&M hasn't been in my house for years now and I feel none the worse. In fact, everything is better for my front room gaming fest, especially since I upgraded to the XB1 pad.

I have seen Steam games with no quit option.
Is it good, no. Is it related to UWP, no.
Quantum Break is probably a bad port that will require a few patches before stabilizing. Let us calm down before drawing conclusions.
You can hate UWP if it is putting limitation where it should not be. I do. Unnecessary trolling do not help our cause.
You're right. I'll throw my keyboard and mouse in the rubbsh immediately.Honestly, I'm not fussed EVER about having the controller as the prime option. It is my main input method. Skyrim felt better with controller, the likes of Bioshock and Deus Ex HR were absolutely fantastic.

OH LORD... you hover your mouse at the top of the screen and then click the X.. FOR EVERY UWA GAME!
You now know how to 'quit' the game... Is it really that big of a damn deal?
nothing wrong with the store
With these Windows 10 ports it's almost like they want you to buy an Xbox One or something.![]()
What if I am sitting on my couch playing with a controller?
Then you're going to get up and walk to your PC (which you were likely gonna do anyway after quiting the game) and close it with the mouse.
Or, you could have your wireless mouse beside you and quit it from your comfy couch.
Well some people like having the option to play games using the input devices that are native to their platform of choice. It might even be their preference. A PC game with bad KB&M support is like a console game with bad controller support.
No. Just no.
Stop defending things that you don't fully understand. We've been through all this within this very thread already.
Is this a joke? Most PC gamers don't use/own controllers. And I don't care which is your favorite input method, a controller should never at any circumstances perform better than kb/m.
You must be lying because NeoGAF says it's bad so it must be bad.
The PC is about choice. People should be able to enjoy the game on a keyboard and mouse and there is no reason for a third person shooter like this to control poorly using such an input method.Honestly, I'm not fussed EVER about having the controller as the prime option. The primary reason of concern here is that Quantum Break was supposed to be the flagship UWP XB1 port in some circles. If MS does not care to the level of skipping the quit button, it really shows that the whole effort is either just a case of them not caring at all and watching the reactions, or being completely out of touch with current state of PC gaming. I mean, seriously, you cannot blame UWP on lack of quit button, but again what can you blame on lack of quit button? "Security"? "Business logic"?
