Enter The Gungeon |OT| Praise the gun

I don't understand jail cell keys. It has been 4 times now that I couldn't find any on the same floor as a cell. Explored everywhere and shit.

Can they appear in secret rooms or something? Or are they in random background objects?

I've gotten them as drops from the chamber boss before.

I find the Marine to be the most reliable by far. He starts with armor, has a great starting weapon, and he shoots more accurately than the other characters.

+ he reloads faster too. Passive game too strong.

Oh wow, look what I got as my first chest in the first chamber. Got two extra hearts out of that and 3 great weapons (the Cobalt Hammer, a 1 shot kill railgun and a rainbow crossbow which shoots charged shots that explode in a mass of bullets). This was my loadout after the first chamber. That crossbow was insanely good and cleared rooms and bosses super quick. Got to the floor 3 boss but died because I lost a lot off hearts trying to get across a room with invisible minecart tracks... I thought there would be a key there for a guy that was locked up, but there wasn't... Guess the boss got it. Ugh I could have gotten so far with this roll.

Oh, well I'm never attempting that mine cart room again lol

The worst is that it wasn't even that difficult... You just have to dodge roll from cart to cart, but by the time I knew it was to late and I lost 3 hearts :p. I thought you had to exit the cart and jump from the invisible tracks into the next cart. Ended up getting some random item that I don't even know what it did and walked into the boss room with 1 heart left :(. And I nearly beat him too, sigh. I'll miss my rainbow crossbow :'-(

God damnit, got two horrible guns and I was doing so well. Chest gives me flare gun and then a molotov gun ugh. I´ve had a great run earlier using the Ghostbusters weapons, amazing gun.

The developers have said they are concentrating on PS4/PC for now, but they may create a Vita version later on (which unfortunately would require lots of reprogramming).

Just like Spelunky, Binding of Isaac, Necrodancer, Nuclear Throne and Rogue Legacy are fantastic on Vita, Gungeon would be a perfect fit. Hope it happens.

FOr some reason, when I tried to dodge out, it wouldn't. Unless I've been mistaken and I was hitting X to exit lol.

Oh yeah, (shortcut NPC question)
I gave a master round and 3 blanks to the NPC that makes the shortcut for chamber 2 but he still needed more stuff. Do I have to give those things to him again now that I died or only the stuff I didn't give him yet? I'm assuming I don't need to give him the stuff I already brought him again since that would be pretty insane, but you never know.

Played this with my brother in co-op for a few hours today, great fun...

My new favorite gun is
the Earthworm Jim blaster
, so much destruction :)

We even found a fought a mimic chest...

But I also think the bosses are a bit toooo bullet spongy...

There is no way they playtested the tank boss and thought "Yep, that seems fair", right? Absolute nonsense boss fight unless you get a OP weapon.

You only need to give it to him onces so you're good. Good luck with the 3 keys and 120 bullets though, tried to farm for it 30 runs straight but those damned key droprates.

So does everyone have a favorite character so far?

I thought I liked the Pilot for lockpicking but I had a few runs back to back where he kept breaking the locks which was very frustrating. I just gave up and went back to Marine who has very good passive bonuses.

I've only played with the Pilot and Hunter so far - of the two I prefer the Hunter. The crossbow is just too useful in the first chamber, although I still have no idea what the dog does.

Great, thanks. And yeah, those will be hard... I actually got an item on my last run that gave a chance for a key drop after clearing a room. Got like 4 leftover keys at the end of chamber 3 but not enough money and I couldn't return to chamber 2 anyway.

I like the Hunter, since she has a dog! Crossbow helps out in early game, and her reload animation with her starting revolver is cool.

For those who want to know what the dog does:

Follows the player around and occasionally digs up a pickup upon completing a room.
Identifies Mimics.

Ya, Tank was way more difficult than any other boss I've fought. I haven't actually beat the Tank, yet...

I think all the bosses have too much HP, in general, but the tank seemed to move so fast I couldn't even dodge the tank itself, let alone the bullets.

I'd like to think so, but the official wiki doesn't mention anything about rarity. Going by MMO standards, I'd say Brown<Green<Blue.

I thought so too at first, but then I came across black and red chests. I don't know. I'm not sure the color matters.

Anyway, bouncing bullets, machine gun (shoots a lot of bullets), against the Bullet King... The screen was so full of bullets going everywhere, I couldn't tell which were mine and which were his. :)

Edit: What does the Crutch do? It sounds like something I would need. :)

The thing with the bosses is, they go into like an "Overdrive" mode with way more aggressive attacks when their health gets down to about 1/3, but the first 2/3 feel like a real waste of time with how much HP they have.

It feels like you're just waiting around for the "real boss fight" to begin, when they get low on health. I don't like that 2/3 of each boss fight is pretty much a walk in the park, only for it to turn to madness right before you actually defeat them. It doesn't feel smooth.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but the Disintegrator cannon is fucking OP as hell vs bosses. Had it both times I fought the tank and it was a complete walk in the park.

Junk sells for a decent amount if you can't find a key at least. Maybe. Sold one it gave me like a gold bullet and some copper ones. So like 13-15 I guess?

12 or 13 deaths so far and I've yet to get any of these insane guns you people keep mentioning and I've found tons. All weapons seem to do relatively the same amount of damage to bosses but that could be because of their high health.

Not really complaining just an observation. Game is awesome.

Wondering about one of the people I've unlocked from a cell, as they're the only one that hasn't shown up in the breach or anywhere else in the game since I opened there sell. I let out a girl/woman with (If I remember right) green hair. All she said was she had to get back to her quest.

I've freed a few people that haven't shown up in the breach. Not quite sure what they're about. Maybe they'll have a random room or show up in the store sometimes, but I haven't seen any of them yet.

What are you supposed to give the little guy in the sewer in the corner of the shop? How do I even give it?

What does the currency do that drops from bosses? (The stuff you view in the top right of the screen at the Breach)

Just had a fun gun run with the judge weapon. I think it was called that, last shot has a different effect like an explosive round, ice round, etc.

What a dope gun, definitely looks like the gun from Judge Dredd. I really want to get my hands on the proton pack so bad.

You can spend it once you
unlock the girl and her giant robot from the jail cell. Their shop will be located immediately to the left of the entrance to the Gungeon
.

In the store there is a grate (doesn't seem to always be there) if you walk up to it a thing will pop out and talk to you, equip the gun you don't want and hold triangle, that'll sell it to him.

So how do you sell Junk then since it doesn't seem to be an equipable item?

The Judge is one of my favorites. I just had a deep run with it as my primary weapon, and banana as my secondary. The rate of fire and reload speed make it so fun to use.

I used the Hunter and the dog found three keys on one floor. That's the first time he found anything. It was nice to be able to open all the chests. I ended up with a pretty awesome build by the end. The speed boost passive makes boss fights so much easier.

What does this mean? I genuinely have no idea, maybe I just haven't played enough yet.

you get items called 'chambers' by beating bosses without getting hit. or maybe the whole Chamber, not sure

when he dies two item 'podiums' show up, one with a Chamber, and it gives you an extra heart

Wow I just won another setup with like the most broken setup ever.
Tablefliping Blanks + Extra Damage when a Blank is used + Poison Blanks meant any room with a table was basically instantly cleared of enemies, and I had a ton of great weapons to back me up when needed.

Also has anyone else reached the final floor? I ask because I'm having trouble
finding two of the items you're supposed to give to the blacksmith.

Nope. I got to floor 4 a couple of times and to the boss once and died. Im really curious to see what the hunters that give you qyests do, do we know yet? I was away all day only played a bit this morning.

They made it sound like you get oermanent upgrades, first thing they want is to kill 200 bullet men. Anyone did it?

can confirm game has unlockeable skins for every character, like Nuclear Throne.

rather than accomplishing specific stuff like in that game, tho, you just gotta "kill your past" in this one ie beat it

That's really cool, the amount of detail they put into that kind of stuff is really impressive. I wouldn't normally expect a game of this type to reward you for something like that.

If you mean the
vampire looking lady
she shows up randomly in the store to sell rare items ar low prices.

If you mean
Link
(thats right), he will show up in a random room and give you a quest to map out the whole dungeon (aka go to every room of that floor which I always do anyway) and give you a item for it. Its awesome because its basically a free item.

I think it's just beating the boss without getting hit. I'm pretty sure I've taken damage in a chamber and still gotten the Chamber Master item by rocking the boss unscathed. I could be mistaken though.

thatd be better since its way more accomplishable and helps you further down

yellow alien dude you rescue speaks in the alien language from Futurama. you can translate it

p.cool
This game is just bursting from the seams with cool references like that

Do the skins change your loadout or anything, or it's just cosmetic?
