I'll only say one thing about this here, but man does this drive home the fucking stupidity of my states gun laws.

Where a car is an extension of the home and therefore something like a handgun is perfectly legal to keep loaded on the front seat of a car. Just in case a bout of road rage creates a moment of loss of control and you need to shoot someone you rear ended.

Now i have no idea how this whole thing transpired but it just drives home how goddamn stupid our laws are for a state that has gun death rates that rival Brazil and is challenging Columbia. And if lax gun laws prevent gun violence, why the fuck is one of the laxest states having one of the highest gun death rates in the country year over year?? We keep laxing them up and the crime keeps happening. So whats up?

According to the ESPN article, Smith was shot "multiple" times and his wife was shot twice in the leg. It's unclear how many shots were fired, and this is an absolute tragedy, but at least only her limb was injured and that Pierre Thomas wasn't caught in the altercation either.

OT: RIP. This got me thinking though, about road rage and confrontation in general. It's why I try to stay come and avoid confrontation where I can, because you really can't account for the amount of nutjobs out there that are ready to kill a person over minor things.

I remember when I was a kid, in McDonald's with my family and a guy came in and accidentally rolled over someone's foot with his kid's pushchair. A pure accident. The guy who's foot he rolled over proceeded to reveal a concealed knife and chased the guy through the shopping mall. If the police and security weren't as responsive as they were, I have no doubt he would have been stabbed, and at the very worst, killed. All over accidentally rolling over someone's foot with a pushchair.
