Weekend results are slowly starting to trickle out.

Hardcore Henry dropped 71% to $1.4M. The film is still playing in over 3k theatres, so the PTA average failed to break $500 this weekend.

HH already had the fifth worst opening of all time for a film debuting in more than 3k venues. It's second weekend is the worst of all time for a film still in 3k+ theatres.

Expect another 80%+ drop next week as it challenges Meet Dave for the long standing largest theatre drop of all time.

The records don't stop coming in 2016.

I want to see Hardcore Henry but haven't had time. Probably be out of the theatres soon with that kind of drop. Well the movie will more than likely do better on DVD and Blu-ray release.

I hope the BvS R-rated cut gets a thetrical release, I think it will improve everyone's opinion on the movie.

Sorry man there is zero chance I go see those movie again in the theater.

I mean, I'd see it in theaters because this kind of film greatly benefits from a big screen and sound system and I'm keen to see what they can salvage, but hardly anyone that hated it first time round will want to go again.

Some more weekend studio estimates

The Barbershop: Next Cut - $20.2M

Batman v Superman - $9.01M (-61.5%) - $311M total

Criminal - $5.85M

BvS enjoys its final week in the top 5.

Why do people think a longer BvS cut would change anyone's minds? As poor as the editing feels, most editors are not in fact total idiots. The things that get cut first often have less relevance to the movie instead of more.

Like, I understand a bit more of the Africa scene was cut (Jimmy introducing himself by name, probably more context) but I doubt that'd make Lois's subplot any better. Maybe a little more coherent, but more useful? More interesting?

It's a treat for those who already love the movie and want more of it. Maybe the dream sequences are longer. Or maybe it is just incidental dialogue that is implied that the rest of the scenes. I am actually of the idea that more needed to be trimmed from the movie already, but I understand you can't just excise all of Amy Adams's screen time like that.

But like I said, improve anyone's opinion? Yeah... I really doubt that. I think a lot of the problems were there from the script phase. But no doubt the narrative will be: "it is so much better now" or something along those lines.

Hardcore Henry is such a complicated movie to recommend.

Like the novelty is there, but the plot and structure reminded me so much of a video game. Go here, kill some folks, get new mission, go there, kill some folks, rinse and repeat.

With some sub-bosses along the way.

I think Warcraft's only path to decent success is going to be good word of mouth from Europe (they get the film 2 weeks early), but even then it might fail because "warcraft," which is a shame.

The marketing seems to be doing big things in China, so hopefully it will pick up the pace.

Hardcore Henry seems like the kind of film that would fare better on the DVD/Blu-Ray market. Or at least rentals and streaming services.

I still can't believe that a Batman/Superman movie earned less domestically than Deadpool. That right there is a good example of what word of mouth does.

Asia, WoW has always been biggest there and they eat shit up like it.

I put Warcraft at ~400 million WW, and that last <$100m domestic estimate kinda supports that a bit. I can see it doing 150 million+ in China but I imagine Europe will be cold on it.

Chinese Market updates:

The Jungle Book opened to about $49M over 3 days

After 2 weekends, London Has Fallen is up to $45M in China

Zootopia is at $236M, and is now the third highest grossing Hollywood flick of all time in China, behind Age of Extinction and Furious 7. Its run is pretty much done though.

Batman v Superman is also done in China. Final gross was ~$95M

Weekend Studio Estimates:

1) The Jungle Book - $103.6M

4) Batman v Superman - $9.0M - $311M total

Ya know, I loved BvS, but that list is absurd box-office wise.
