Based on this, the short seems to be about 15 mins

Would imagine 11-12

What the heck?! This looks sublime!! After seeing several titles Nintendo has done this for in the past few years I'm really hoping they decide to do a few anime series in the near future.

Damn, that art style could work really nicely for future games.

I really hope SFZ sells well enough to warrant a sequel.

Wow, didn't see that coming, and yet it makes a lot of sense, too. Will watch, sounds fun.

Nintendo is trying pretty hard to make Star Fox a thing again. I kind of like that, it's a somewhat unique franchise in the grand scheme of things, so it's good to see it given a fair shake.

After so many people were writing the game off as a quick-and-dirty low budget project, it really does feel like they're pushing hard on it. It must be a big-time passion project for Miyamoto.

From the credits thread a while back, I think it was determined this is basically the first game he's directed himself since the N64 era.

The Pikmin and Kid Icarus animated shorts were pretty great. I wish they would go all out and make a show out of it though.

I dunno, I feel like the quality would go down if they were turned into a series, though I guess a 1 or 2 cour show wouldn't be so bad

That's a good point to be made. Just the other day I was talking about animation on twitter that the higher quality stuff is usually in shorts, commercials and OP/EDs because cost of animation. Even looking back to 90's cartoons in the west, most full 30 minute cartoons were a series of shorts with fluid, elastic and highly expressive animation.
