I know, but having him in will just take up space of other characters who have a valid reason of appearing in this game, such as Rose & Sakura. At least Guile has a valid reason to appear due to Nash.

We already had characters like Dhalsim & Zangief; Characters that have no valid reason of appearing in this game other than popularity. Some of us doesn't want another SF game to be filled with the entire SF II cast again, like with Alpha 3 & the SF IV series.

Yes, because some people think that it's a choice between Gief and Sim and their favorite character.

Hint: Your character almost certainly plays nothing like Gief and Sim, and if you want them to play like Sim (say, like Necro), then what's the damn point? Why force somebody into an archetype to cover a character we already have over doing something true to that character for this system.

Sim and Gief are popular and have unique playstyles. Storywise they make more sense than Necro or Hugo/T Hawk based on what we know about the story so far and how they i teract with the other characters in the game.
R. mika's only link to most of the cast is Gief. Sim lets you tie in some 3S and Alpha characters such as Oro and Karin. Plus, he can serve as a magic/mystic expert who can tie into Necali.

The starters were decided by committee; they just listed who they wanted, and they wanted the Alpha 3 peeps. Or are you gonna tell me there was a demand for Birdie?

Alex I could give you, but he must have been in production for a long time. There's no way they decided to make him at the point Laura was revealed when Alex was shown in the background.

Agreed. Guile's theme is too iconic to replace.

You can't replace the theme that goes with everything. I would love to see Capcom go all out with an over the top rendition but I'm sure that would piss a lot of people off.

Joe Schmoe asks, "is Guile in the game? What about Blanka or Honda?" At least that has been my experience with all the Joe Schmoes I know from when I mentioned the game to them.

You know some (relatively) old Joes . If the target audience is 30+ then that works, if you are targeting 25 and under at all (and that's a major demographic) then who the heck is Guile and why would I want to play as a boring looking fat guy. New demo, they are gonna like different characters, and I'd actually argue that a bunch of the outcry for Alex came from younger gamers who might not have ever played SF3.

Seeing Gief get kicked in that pic makes me hope they eventually give him an alt with a beanie, though he already has one of the greatest alts of all time. Oh yeah.

Pretty sure I will main him if he's a pure charge character.

That version was supposed to show the stage before Bison found Sagat's replacement. Having F.A.N.G's statue in Sagat's place truly shows that Sagat has moved past Shadaloo & became a better person.

And mainly, compared to Boxer, Claw & Dictator, Sagat isn't exactly as evil as he appears. The only reason he joined Shadaloo & participated in the SF II tournament was to try to find & locate Ryu so that he could have a rematch against him, but he didn't get it in the end.

Ever since the fall of Shadaloo after SF II, Sagat's moved on & is starting life anew.
