Bernie got predictably spanked. Will be fun to see the maths get even more bizarre on Reddit
One of the top posts right now is something like "before yesterday we needed 56% of the remaining delegates, now we only need 58%!"

The Young Turks movement was split up in 2 sides though, one did participate in the genocide and the other did not iircConsidering that the Young Turks were the leaders of Turkey during the Armenian Genocide, and his site/channel/whatever is named for them, this seems unlikely...
The name of the show has always been my #1 reason for never wanting to watch them. There is no acceptable reason to use THAT for your name, not with what the namesakes did to one of their countries' largest minorities!
Basically we can say today that the United States has its first woman president. It's a pretty big deal that got lost in this circus.
Cenk's position on the Armenian genocide hasn't publicly changed as far as I'm aware. Of course, since I imagine he still has ties to family in Turkey and it's a crime to mention the Armenian genocide there, I doubt he'd ever actually admit changing his position in public.
I'm a Bernie guy, but I'll definitely vote for Hillary if she's the nom.
This is what has lost me about some Bernie supporters. Iirc, Bernie himself has pointed out in debates that Hillary is loads better than any Republican candidate, yet certain Bernie supporters seem adamant about equivocating Hillary with the GOP opposition. Why??
Potentially, but it's best not to count chickens before they hatch. As they say, "don't get cocky, kid".

People who point to Hillary or Obama as reasons to not vote for future women or minority candidates had no intention for voting for them anyway. It's a big deal, but if she fucks up, then she's going to set back future female candidates.
Margaret Thatcher was our first female prime minister, but some of her decisions ended up fucking the Working Class.

He was an anti-abortion, anti-gay conservative when this was published, but has since evolved on these positions, hopefully on acknowledging the Armenian genocide too.
Even when he changed his positions to more liberal ones 10 years ago, he was hugely transphobic, but has also now evolved in that view too.
Why would Clinton target white independents?
To paraphrase Sun Tzu, don't attack where your enemy is strong, attack where he's weak. Julian Castro has been floated as one of the more likely VO picks to target Hispanics.
Sanders got biznanked in New York, it is so beyond over that it's sad now. At least his supporters can stop pretending now since there is literally no shot failing Hillary Clinton dying in a fire.
Good try, Sanders.
Why do you say this like sanders is a bad guy?Sanders got biznanked in New York, it is so beyond over that it's sad now. At least his supporters can stop pretending now since there is literally no shot failing Hillary Clinton dying in a fire.

Ugh, so much negatively towards Bernie around here these days. I don't care what anybody says, I LOVE his vision for the country so he has my vote next week.

I think this is one of the major disconnects with a fair amount of Bernie supporters. I love his vision too. But I have no faith in him being able to do anything meaningful to move us there.Ugh, so much negatively towards Bernie around here these days. Every county scrubs voter rolls after few months: people moving in, moving out, deaths, births, etc. Brooklyn fell way behind in scrubbing its rolls and did it all in one take, resulting in that big number. However DeBlasio wants to confirm if this is what really happened.Whats this talking about purged votes?
Cnn is reporting purged votes and de blasio is asking the election committee to count them.
It's a big deal, but if she fucks up, then she's going to set back future female candidates.

This will never not be funny to me.

Yup pretty much why I don't vote for white men. Reagan really fucked that up for future white men.
He had no vision. That is where the negativity comes from. Free healthcare and free tuition aren't things Bernie dreamed up and brought down from the mountaintop to share with all of us. Those ideas have been around for far longer than Sanders. His proposals on how to achieve them are what mattered. They were entirely too vague on the specifics that constitute good policy, like basically everything else Sanders has ever proposed.
He's an idea guy peddling preexisting ideas with nothing new of merit attached to them, but doing so at a time when there is a large subset of the American populous who so fundamentally misunderstand their own government as to think his ideas are 1. new and 2. not completely impossible in their proposed execution.
Well, look on the plus side, America. You may not get Sanders, but Hillary is a much better president than Cameron as our Prime Minister.
We have fucking Cameron and Osbourne. You can't sink any lower than us!
I looked up that article, and it's probably not nearly as big of a deal as people think it is.Whats this talking about purged votes?

If you refuse to vote for another woman due to Thatcher, you are a sexist piece of shit.Except of course, that white men are the majority in power. So what I'm saying is that if she doesn't leave behind a good legacy or worse, have a terrible legacy, it can set women back. I'm not saying or supporting that women make bad political leaders, but Margaret Thatcher is an example of one that left behind a terrible legacy that screwed over the working class and made some questionable calls regarding Falklands, giving the perception of 'females making bad leaderships'.
I know it's a different time now, but everyone going to judge the first president of a kind and honestly, I wouldn't want Hillary Clinton to be the first representative for female presidency. But I rather have her over Trump anyway, so fuck it.

We all hear your reasoning and it overemphasizes the logical nature of sexists. No, 'setting back women' is just a sexist's way of explaining their nature.
Maybe, unlike some other unnamed sites on the internet, /r/politics or whatever is cool with... wait for it...
Freedom of expression
That's just a theory.

If I were to start Bernie-ing on /r/Hillary do you not think the exact same thing would happen?

depends. are you gonna go in acting like a hostile dick with a persecution complex?
Maybe you're more likely to consider someone a 'dick' if they're saying something that starkly contrasts with your own political ideals? I dunno, that seems pretty likely to me.
I just think its funny that NeofuckingGAF of all places is waving its finger at reddit for being anti-freedom of expression. I mean, really? Reddit? Lolwhat?
You express yourself in how you vote too. An upvote shows support, a downvote shows critique. That's part of expression. On the other hand, here, we literally take away people's ability to continue the discourse if we don't like what they're saying. Don't get me wrong. It's done for good reason and contributes, for the most part, to a better atmosphere of discourse. But let's not fool ourselves into thinkings ours is the high-road of freedom.
Maybe you're more likely to consider someone a 'dick' if they're saying something that starkly contrasts with your own political ideals?
Sure, valid argument there, but wait:I make my vote based on how much their views align with mine. I'm just explaining that western nations is still sexist towards female political leaders and people in the UK still use Margaret Thatcher as an example.
I'm explaining their thought process, not justifying it dear.
Get the fuck out of here with this shit.I just think of Hillary as a necessary evil at this point now and I still feel people should swallow their pride and vote for her in the swing states.
