I like what I see, I just hope that the city is at least a great size. Exploration and trying to improve your times looks to be as fun as expected. Getting XP for the skill tree comes very quickly it seems. I might rewatch the archive to catch the bits that I missed since I missed a bit of the last 30 minutes and the beginning.
I suspected as much with Battlefield 4 being 60fps 2 years ago with 64 players. Good to know.

Dont get me wrong, the game/engine looks heavily improved and nice. But its still running with the same Res and fps on XboxOne and probably on PS4 too.. It looks like 720p sadly on XboxOne.
Btw there is a FoV Slider too on Consoles.
Didn't they already say it's 1080 on PS4, 900 on XBO?
60fps is great news regardless though.
Wait, ps4 version is 1080p 60fps? If so thats quite a jump from previous frostbite games. But it should be running on the latest version of Frostbite and when 1 extra core free up on Ps4. If you look at the PC spec, the CPU requirements is indeed a bit higher than battlefront 3.

I don't understand how this could be 1080p60 on PS4. I was expecting 900p60 if it was going to be 60 at all.
Regardless, I'd much rather have 60 in this game than 30 so I don't mind either way.

Nope they didnt. Something like this never gets announced about DICE games.
I get the vibe that the skill tree is in place as a 'tutorial system' first and foremost.
It's there to gate the player's progress just a little bit, so that they learn more advanced techniques when they are ready, rather than being overwhelmed from the word 'go'.

You can get a Key from some DICE/EA people over twitter.
And yeah i asked around again and you are allowed to share infos etc about the Beta.

Seems more like 40-50ish FPS to me, but I'll take that over 30. I'm torn between PS4 and PC for this; I'll probably wait for some impressions of the PC version to see that it isn't a total disaster. I'd rather have mouse and keyboard controls, but my old 670 doesn't have the power to brute force a bad PC port these days and I'm only planning to upgrade when the new Nvidia cards hit. Might be safer to go for the PS4 version and then double dip on PC somewhere down the line during a sale.

Sins when did DICE developed game had a bad PC port? it's practically their main platform.

There's always a first time. Remedy developed nothing but stellar PC ports until Quantum Break. Better safe than sorry; I take nothing for granted these days.

I think that it's a little harsh comparing the two studios, one of the games had PC as the base platform and the other was developed mainly for Xbox one and I would guess that the PC version was rushed because maybe Remedy wasn't informed sooner that they would release it at the same date as the XOne, you know what dunno I'm just speculating.
As if we didn't have enough of it already

I hope for XBO diehards that Microsoft will release a beefed up console because otherwise the Xbox One is going to be seen as the very last platform you would want to play multiplats on.

I noticed that too. It really doesn't look as good as on trailers and gameplay trailer that they released earlier.
I noticed some blurry textures, and characters don't look that good in game. (Not talking about cutscenes).
But maybe they played it on medium settings for better and more stable fps?
Codes will be going out tomorrow. But today you can ask for code on twitter, some streamers got them to giveaway i think.

I asked around, multiple Dice people confirmed to me that we are allowed to share. The official Mirrors Edge Twitter confirmed that too.
Even the GameDVR on XboxOne is activated. If sharing wouldnt be allowed this wouldnt work.

No, it doesn't afaik.
Not sure really. The lighting is nice but it has a soft look for some reason where i really expected to see a very crisp game combined with the world its in.

The PC gameplay I've seen looks superb, much better than the Xbox One version, according to Nvidia a 970 suffices for max settings at 60fps.
The reveal was a vertical slice we all know that.
I did not envision the PC version as equal to that in normal circumstances.
What we have on PC however is still a very significant jump, hardware permitting, over the pitiful display on Xbox One.
I mean the IQ is dreadful.

The IQ on Xbox doesn't look too hot based on those shots but ME was always significantly better to play on PC because of the higher framerate which just made the game feel buttery smooth and incredibly responsive, so I'm willing to bet it's solely to keep that 60fps as close to locked as possible.
Still looks gorgeous regardless, but like ME, I'll be on PC.

Who am I kidding, I'm triple dipping Day One.
The colors blend better now, the previous visual style was more "cut out" and heavy on constrast.
I think it looks better as a whole in spite of things like reflections having been toned down.
Why all have to be open world this gen?
The first Mirror's Edge should have been open world, IMO.

For a game entirely about traversal, open world actually makes sense here. It still can have "courses," within that world.Why all have to be open world this gen?
