Idk why people would keep saying its Atlus, if anything based on their output they would want to keep most things in
Of course its on NOA
Even NOA wanted to make it clear that it's on NOA.

Again, I'm just bummed I won't get to experience the content in the game as it was originally developed by Atlus because of unclear reasons. I'd feel better if the reason for changes weren't so nebulous, but all it looks to me right now is unnecessary and misguided.
If Atlus were publishing this, I guarantee you these changes wouldn't be made.
I can't wait for Nintendo to announce that, instead of having the swimsuit DLC outfits, we get Zelda/Zero Suit Samus-themed ones! Hey, it worked for Fatal Frame V, right!?
Seriously, Nintendo and their recent edits have me seriously re-considering that NX purchase. I know I'll probably purchase one anyway, for the Nintendo-exclusive titles (Mario, Zelda, etc.), but I'm not happy about it. :/

Well, one less game to worry about in June.
Expectations for swimsuit DLC = 0.Better shot:

Assuming the NX is region-free (unless you plan to import a Japanese console instead).NX is going to be imports only if I get one. I'm done waiting for prerelease info on whether or not their releases are going to gutted when they make it over here. Although I'm getting the feeling that their output from inception are going to be designed to pander to western twitter types so I may just skip things all together.
I agree that replacing lost content with something is better than nothing at all, I still don't agree with them purposely removing something that's so harmless.I would be fine with this. Actually replacing lost content with something else is much better than just having the content erased, with no alternative.
Spoken like someone that doesn't know what the original intent was.it's cartoon pictures of clothes on cartoon people.
Atlus's, yes.do you have the email addresses on hand? I'll send an email also to both, as much of a waste of time as it will be.
Atlus's, yes.

NoA is a bit trickier. You'd have to email via their website.

I suppose this could be put under Corporate Questions->Corporate Social Responsibility, although honestly there isn't an email specifically for these sorts of complaints so I'd recommend just picking whichever you think is the best option for messaging NoA. Either way, if you're really doing this, thank you so much! That's kind of awesome. Most people just complain about things and then move on without ever actually trying to do anything about it or letting companies know how they feel.
Again, this is what I don't get. Fine, let's say they're going to cut it, are they going to now market the shit out of it and really push it to the FE and SMT crowds?Amazing that NoA is going out of their way to cut up a game they're going to send out to die and not even market.
It's a miracle we got Bayonetta 2 as is.

One positive news is Maiko is unaltered, for now.

I doubt it.
What really bothers me about stuff like this is how much time, effort and money theyre wasting on censoring things when they could have used it to do other stuff... like dubbing the game.
Nothing about this really surprises me, Nintendo continue to be the most anti-consumer company in the bunch.
What shocks me is how popular they are here, and why people even care about the NX.
Which is hilarious, since that's exactly what they're doing.I personally think it's just one of those games they technically made and promised a while back, so they feel they need to release it since they've already shown it off before. That said, they don't want to waste resources on it, so no dub, and localizing is outsourced. They certainly don't want to get controversy or have the game put on news, so they still do the work to make sure to cut out parts that could be considered too bad in their opinion.
Essentially, it feels like they're just pushing it out because they feel they have to rather than because they want to.
I agree with CJ. The games are great, but Nintendo's popularity as a corporation is surprising. The stupid nonsense they do, like oh, not designing hardware with ethernet ports, or region locking their consoles puts their name in the shitter for me.Of course they're popular, most of their games are good and fun.
Which doesn't excuse them from this garbage, seriously. At least i can spend my money on something else.

Censoring the things that they are is likely a laughable cost compared to dubbing it. Then again if they did dub it, it would be to appeal to a wider audience, which they'd then likely censor it anyway because of that.

The second that the NX is announced and has no ethernet port, and it almost assuredly will NOT have one, I am going to walk upstairs to my kitchen, open the sliding glass door and go out on my deck, look up at the sky and yell: FUCK! Then I'm going to walk back down here and put on the most relaxing and chill show that I can find, like Shirayuki or Flying Witch.
I feel like Nintendo and Nintendo of America in particular seem to have fell down in popularity a lot. I remember back when a lot of people seemed to love Reggie (or at least love using him in memes), but now most posts relating to him seem to talk about him reminding them of used car salesmen.

Thanks, I'll be doing this too. I'll be sure to mention the other Nintendo games that I haven't picked up because of it as well.

I was shocked when I bought my Wii U. Shame on me for not doing my due diligence with research.Wait, wait? Sheesh, I didn't think they were that far back. (Though to be fair, I never noticed with the Wii.)
I think that most hate NoA gets is pretty unfair though. It's not like they have any power in that corporate system. I'm conflicted, I have a preorder for this game because I heard good things about it, but I'm not sure if I want to support Nintendo's questionable editing. It seems extremely prude of Nintendo to edit something that's not even that suggestive to begin with. Its not like this game has mass market appeal, especially with only Japanese audio.
are you me?
nice anime choice
For what it's worth, that tweet is saying that it's up to Nintendo on whether or not they'd ever document the changes made during localization. Even if Nintendo enforcing the changes is probably the case, that's not remotely what he's saying there and it doesn't do anybody good to start throwing it around as proof.
One positive news is Maiko is unaltered, for now.
Probably Atlus. They're more likely to actually do something with the feedback and care, considering they don't do this with their normal games. NoA does this with basically everything recently, even M rated titles, and don't really seem to give a shit.I know there's little hope that anything can be done to change things now, but nothing wrong with trying i guess. Who exactly would be better to contact in this situation though? I'm guessing Nintendo since they're the ones who most likely imposed the changes.
