Mythical Pokemon being distributed throughout 2016

So, uh, anyone still got a Mew? I asked on the previous page and no response and then people are saying they've still got Mew on the new page. :/

I don't s'pos anyone has a spare Mew code that they'd like to PM me do they? Only just heard about this and my son has been after a Mew forever 😄

stuff like this encourages homebrew use and makes people delve into that realm out of necessity.

pro tip for gamefreak: stop doing these store events. it only makes people want to hack the game to obtaint hings they can't obtain because they're being punished for not being born in first world countries.

I must agree... If wasn't for homebrew, plus the new Mystery Machine method (not sure if I can link it here), my chances of obtaining Darkrai next month would be near to zero, due to living in a third-world country without official Nintendo representatives since January '15...

Now I'll get Darkrai, also I'll be helping some close friends to obtain it , and I can give away the Pokémon Newsletter code for one HA Kanto Bird when I receive it (since I can get the three birds through the same method).

Sucks I use the serebii page to find out about pokemon distribution events made no mention of a deadline to sign up. Am I out of options?

Mostly, yes. There is a small possibility you'll get it anyway. Otherwise your only chance to get them legitimately is to hope someone gives out some codes or to trade/buy them. There could be another distribution but that is very unlikely.

Also, one of the only things Serebii is inferior to others at is its coverage of events. Use Bulbapedia/Bulbanews or Reddit instead.

Where are you getting the locations from?

Various sources. The new ones I added today were from the German, British, French and Spanish official websites which had all updated today. I got yesterday's European locations from Bulbapedia (which had links to primary sources to back it up), Canada's location from EB Games Canada's twitter and the US location from the American official site a few months back.

let's see if I can grab a Darkrai at EB. I wasn't there for Mew, but I wonder how fast that went. Gimme a couple days for a buffer >:(

You can catch Thundurus, Landorus and Tornadus if you have both OR and AS, have Castform in your party when you fly around with Latias or Latios and they will appear.

Oh! I did not know this, thanks very much. I know what I'm doing this weekend...

yeah Omega Ruby has Tornadus, Alpha Sapphire has Thundurus. Then to get Landorus you need to have both tornadus and thundurus on your team while flying in the sky. Pokemon bank or knowing somebody to trade with helps you get most of the legendary trios in these games.

I resent that. I post the news when they come. I post when they start. I post when they're about to end. I don't miss that, thank you very much.

From my news post about this:
For those of you in the US, it has been confirmed that the Legendary Birds of Articuno, Zapdos & Moltres are to be given with their Hidden Abilities of Snow Cloak, Static and Flame Body will be distributed through the Pokémon Trainer Club Newsletter during May. This is the only way to get these birds. You need to sign up for it on the official site by April 22nd to receive the newsletter

It did mention it.

Korean events? And quite a few of the SEA, Hong Kong and Taiwan events too. They are a significant proportion of events and you don't post them. I don't intend to be mean and I like the way that your event database is easily sortable, and would therefore use it over others, but it is missing a significant proportion of all events.

An example would be here where you've listed the Japanese XYZ Zygarde but have not listed either of the two Korean XYZ Zygarde events.

I just recently started to play Pokemon Y again to continue filling the pokedex and luckily got just in time to get a jirachi, and saw that I have already missed mew and celebi, now I already have a celebi from the start of pokemon bank, so I don't care that I missed it, but if anyone still have an extra mew code I would be happy and/or a darkrai when the distribution starts, I live in mexico and I'm sure we won't get codes for them.
Anyway thanks.

Obviously people think your coverage on events is lacking Joe - don't bite back its just honest criticism.
In all Honestly, how many of Serebii's reader or people on Neogaf actually care about Korean events and distributions? Im pretty sure they are a very small percent of his reader/ traffic.

That's why they think it's lacking. I guess you agree with them, it focus on the major market; US, Japan, and EU. I guess the criticism of the other guy is that it's lacking or missing some information. Which is understandable since the one looking or interested in those info are "very small percent of his reader/ traffic". It would be nice to have all of them but it's a lot of work and I guess not worth it. In a region there are differences between countries which is a good information to have. On the top of my head, the previous distribution of Hoopa via the Mcdonalds wifi. It was available in the US but not in Canada. It's nothing major but it's good to know. Most of the time it's written as US and most people assume that it's also available in the Canada but not always, I guess they have similar events likes 90-99% of the time. Another example on why each country in a region is nice to have is when they distributed a HK legendary (I can't remember what it was but it was through Nintendo HK's facebook), even though it's a HK distro it works on the Japanese ORAS.

I'm not saying that serebii does or doesn't have those information, I'm just giving an example why it's good to show the difference in each country/market.

Yeah, I had a hard time finding info on how to get Hoopa in Canada. There wasn't much info on that anywhere. Had to use a workaround I found on reddit eventually, but I would have appreciated knowing off the bat if the thing was coming to Canada at all, as usually we get some equivalent to the US.

How does this work with Pokemon from stores? Do I just go to a Gamestop and ask for a Pokemon-Code? Or do I have to buy something there?
I only got the free ones that were distributed online so far.

I'm retroactively working on Korean events, don't fret :) Got Gen VI ones sorted, going to do Gen V then go live, then do Gen IV when I get a chance.

I do post the SEA, HK and Taiwan ones in the database though. I just don't publically because of how they're done and how the western fandom just jump in and get all the codes without giving the intended audience a chance.

It's more saying I'm a bad place. Just because the Korean events aren't on it doesn't mean that I'm bad for it, especially given the context of the statement. That's what I took issue with

Yep, you just go to a store and ask for a code. You don't have to buy anything. However a few rare stores ignore the rules and ask you to buy something. That is rare though and shouldn't happen.

That's great news. :) When you've finished that, your database will be the best there is.

I never said you were a bad place. I merely said that you were not as good a place as a few others in the specific context of events. (And in fact I implied that you were the best place for just about everything else). I may not have adequately expressed that though.
