From Software is developing future games for 2017+ on PS4, PSVR, Xbox One and PC.

It seems From likes the early year launch schedule. If they are keeping up with their pace, I think we can expect a new game from them in the early months of 2017. And if people think releasing a game and a DLC pack around the same time is a problem, they released Scholar of the First Sin only like a month before Bloodborne.

If they DO have a release planned for early 2017, then I think we can expect their game to show up at E3.

Well, that video means nothing really lol

They are just saying, yes we are starting this new chapter here with the company, will develop for these platforms, 3 of which we have been developing already for like 3 years

This is what dreams are made of.

What would a modern King's Field even be?

It was basically a first person Souls type game with Morrowind tier combat.

Give me Otogi 3 or give me death. (Does MS own that IP?)

I will be one with the armored core.

Honestly, if they do a VR thing, might be better to ease into it. Do another Chromehounds-esque, and then ramp it up toward AC3 speeds.

Meanwhile, us players who are, quite simply, superior, will eagerly await fA speeds in VR.

Kings Field VR

Just like how the series debuted in the original PlayStation, itd be cool to see the series be an entry in this new medium.

And to the people remarking on the technical difficulties FROM has with their games, VR development is definitely more stringent when it comes to framerate. So I can see them developing to a standard instead of trying to push the engine.

I think the main reason to doubt Bloodborne 2 is that Miyazaki has spent about nine months now talking about how he wants From to focus on things that aren't like Dark Souls for the next ~5 years or so even if it's a bad business decision, because he feels it's good for the company creatively.

Sci-fi FPS with VR support

Well yeah, game companies make games.

I doubt they'll do another console exclusive ever again, too much money left on the table.

Their next or one of their next games is rumored to be a Sony published exclusive PS4 title. Bloodborne did pretty well for an exclusive.

Not unless Sony puts money on the table for them (or development resources). Bloodborne did pretty well too, so it's not like they were facing issues in sales either.

If MS owns Otogi IP they should do a spiritual successor ala Demons Souls ---> Dark Souls

Both of those games were seriously amazing.

Probably another thing to consider is that Sony having Japan Studio assist with development is probably a big reason they are able to juggle games like DS3 and Bloodborne at the same time. Probably sweetens the deal on the From end quite a bit.

Exactly. Bloodborne has higher production values than any other "Souls" game and that's because of Sony and Japan Studio. I wouldn't be surprised if we get another collaboration like that this generation.

Armored Core Steam, please. That's all I want from From in a post-Souls world at this point.

FROM has multiple teams. Dark Souls III wasn't made in a year.

Yup, at least two main teams (the Dark Souls 1/Bloodborne team and the Dark Souls 2/3 team) and probably a couple of smaller teams working on small projects (like the Monster Hunter Diary 3DS port) and prototypes.

Otogi is From's IP, and Microsoft had nothing to do with it, SEGA was the publisher for the western version.

People bring this up a fair amount but I do have to wonder, what did Japan Studio do in Bloodborne? In the credits the majority of Sony's roles seemed to be Producers, QA, Marketing etc.

FROM and PSVR is gonna be interesting. Armored Core and Kings Field would work really well but I'd like to see a new IP.

Does it count as port begging for a future console? 'Cos I think From on NX would do Nintendo a million favours. Personally I'm indifferent, but yeah.
Lol no it wouldn't.

What does the platform list on the title mean? Will it be a Playstation VR exclusive game? No Rift or Vive? Will there be a non VR version of the game as it'll be on Xbox as well?

I imagine a theoretical Kings Field taking difficulty cues from the Souls series. Imagine walking down some dark corridor, in the VR environment, only to have a large knight charge at you off in the distance. No idea whether you can take him or not.

This studio has a nice grasp on atmosphere so they're very well suitednfor VR. I just hope the game isn't totally grimdark like the Souls games. The environments in Kings Field were more balanced towards beautifully melancholic.

People loves the Souls games around here, so I know better than to say exactly what I want. So instead I'll just say; I hope it is something different. They've done that style for quite a while now, time they do something else.

I would buy PSVR to try out Kings Field VR.

Also that Bloodborne snub in the 2006-2016 section. haha

Fromsoft dont own the IP. There is no snub.
