From Software is developing future games for 2017+ on PS4, PSVR, Xbox One and PC.

I'm expecting a

"We've finished working on Souls titles for the time being, we want to try something new.

So we've created a new IP, that plays exactly like Souls but with minor differences"

It says "2017 -" so in that context they are not promising 2017 release date for anything.

Also "Next Title" doesn't necessarily mean new IP.

I believe that there's a mistake in interpreting that video.

It's not talking about one specific game. "title" is the usual mistake when translating from Japanese. Japanese doesn't have plural and singular. It probably means "titleS"
"2017-" means "2017 and beyond." (notice the "-")

"PS4, Xbox One, PC, Playstation Vr..." (notice the "...").

Means that they will develop for those platforms and possibly more.

The correct interpretation should be that in the future they're gonna develop for PS4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation VR and more (so yeah, possibly also NX).

IE: it doesn't say anything specific about a specific game, but more about their general intentions for the next few years.
That actually makes more sense. Having a title hit all those platforms AND Playstation VR would be a headscratcher. I would assume a PSVR title would either be a Sony codeveloped exclusive, or it would also be hitting Oculus as well as a VR only game.

VR with FROM level art design sounds amazing, VR with FROM level technical competence not so much. I'm also not convinced how good it will be given that it's not VR centric, it would have to be a cockpit game for that to work so mechas inbound I guess.

Bloodborne 2 will be made all the sweeter given the long wait. It should benefit from them taking a break anyway.

I look forward to whatever they produce.

We know they are developing a new IP, though. And their output in the last few years has been a release every year. I would say it's very possible they will release another game next year at some point.

Would make sense considering they've been releasing a game every year in March/April for 3 years in a row.

Man how the hell do they release a game every year.

DS3 was amazing for being made in such a short time if that's true, I hope they can keep up that quality (and don't instead shit out another dark souls 2 *shudder*)

FROM has multiple teams. Dark Souls III wasn't made in a year.

That makes sense then, it seems way too polished (art, world, voice acting, gameplay, assets) for being made in that little time:p

So I guess the 2017 will be by another team again then? I wonder what the ds3 team will make next

I think the main reason to doubt Bloodborne 2 is that Miyazaki has spent about nine months now talking about how he wants From to focus on things that aren't like Dark Souls for the next ~5 years or so even if it's a bad business decision, because he feels it's good for the company creatively.

Team Ninja rubbin their hands.

Yes! This has to be rebooted Armoured Core or a new mecha-Souls IP. Sucks that we're not getting Bloodborne 2 but I'm still happy either way.

Incidentally, we also already knew that they were on board with PlayStation VR, it was announced in the developer list at GDC.

Otogi 3 let's go

Didn't FROM say they Nintendo consoles don't appeal to them because of the demographics or something? Can't see them making anything for NX
They did make a sequel to Lost Kingdoms Gamecube though, but you're probably right as they stopped making games like that.

Don't think this really means anything. Does anyone really doubt From will make another multiplatform game? They are a multiple project studio. The better question is if the Verendus rumor about the deal with Sony bring got 3 games is true.

Here's the comment made by the director of Dark Souls 2:
Wii U never came up, and we never doubted that (decision) either. It was more of a company decision, so I wasn’t the one that decided this, but I think the audience for the Wii U is a lot different from the audience for Dark Souls.

So isn't going to be surprise when From Software turns out to have nothing planned for NX either.

Just give me my god damn Armored Core VR! I do not care that somehow simulating my eyes traveling at 1000 km/h might make me throw up! GIVE IT TO ME!!

Has any Verendus rumor ever come to fruition? Honest question.

Metal Wolf. Metal Wolf. Metal Wolf. Metal Wolf.

i wonder if their development for PSVR precludes anything coming to rift/vive. i have a feeling their next sony exclusive is PSVR focused

I don't see why'd throw the elipses on there if whatever this is isn't coming to something else. Maybe they'll do PS4K/XB1.2 versions, but From doesn't strike me as a company that'd do that. Especially if it had an online element like the Souls games.

Actually, now that I look at it, this means nothing. It says "2017 onwards" so there's no indication that their next game will be on all of those platforms. It has also been known for a while that FromSoft has been working on a PSVR game or at least one with support.

don't forget the best part of that interview:
Asked whether From Software and Namco ever considered a Wii U port, Miyazoe bluntly replies: “No.” When asked why, he explodes with laughter. “
