Modern Warfare Remastered won't be sold separately

This news sucks, but yet it was expected. I'll see if I can get someone's code for MW, assuming it isn't tied into the infinite warfare game.

Lol. They need MWRemastered to sell Infinite Warfare. There's no way it doesn't get sold separately later down the line.
 
It fucking sucks, but I'm preeetty sure Activision is smart enough to know that MWR will cannibalize sales of IW if they release at the same time separately
 
Nobody seriously thinks they will skip selling this to all the people who don't buy modern CoD anymore right? Are you all forgetting the remaster trilogy Amazon listing the MW1 remaster was first found with? I think by January we'll have it in that bundle. It may never be sold separately, but they won't be stupid enough to permanently tie it to a now divisive new title

why would it be stupid you wouldnt trade in IW so it would kill the trade in market if u wanted to play cod4 remastered.

They could have easily done it for $20 and had some cool unlocks for IW if you buy the remaster beforehand.

History provides enough judgment material. Unless IW suddenly throws away all of the cluttered nonsense that fills up the CoD franchise currently, then they might actually have a truly great game again.

Infinite Warfare will sell just fine with or without MW:Remastered. It's not like the games are struggling to finish towards the top of the sales charts yearly.

Packing in MW:Remastered will only make sales even better.
 
Are we getting MW2 remaster in 3 years?

Anyone who thought otherwise was just using wishful thinking. Activision wasn't going to compete against themselves.

I have a bad feeling that this might be the case. Activision is not so stupid that it will allow people to keep MW and sell IW. They want every single one of you to buy the expensive edition.

This. I expect it to be paired with Infinite Warfare for a few months and then it'll be available by itself in Feb/March/April. Somewhere around there. I wouldn't be surprised if they released DLC maps for MW:R at the same time the map packs release for IW. A lot of people will be understandably pissed off by this though. But they aren't going to leave extra money on the table. This is Activision we're talking about here. Look at what they're doing with microtransactions in these games now. They want every last penny.

And people can say "if you don't like, just vote with your wallet and don't give them your money" but it's not that simple in situations like this. I'm one of the many people who would pay a good $100 just to get a nice remastered version of SOCOM II on the current consoles. I'm sure there are tons of people who feel the same way about Modern Warfare.
 
Activision after mega launch profits "With great consumer response, we've decided to release MW Remastered separately".......for 40 bucks and if you want more maps, the IF season pass is available but if you would like to save money and get a great new COD, buy Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition.

it's not about cannibalizing, it's about boosting Infinite Warfare. More infinite warfare buyers, more potential microtransaction and season pass buyers.
 
Give it 3 months once sales dry up for IW and they'll sell it seperate.

Of course they weren't going to sell it seperate from day 1, anyone who expected them too is crazy. It's a seriously smart marketing move to shift copies.

I don't think we'll get any more MW:R maps. This is a clever way of limiting play time on MW:R as they will ever hoping people get burnt out on the 10 and go play IW.
 
What does it say about the Call of Duty franchise if Activision fear the new version of their flagship franchise is threatened by an incomplete remaster of a game that came out nine years earlier?
 
Was there this much backlash when it was announced that Bayonetta 1 came as a pack-in only with Bayonetta 2 for Wii U? Not sure it was sold separately digitally.

No one wants to buy another shitty IW CoD game tho. we just want the last good one released.

They're already in bad standing with the community. Pile that one to the fact that it's only 10 MP maps, really??

Hopefully the average consumer doesn't fall for this crap and it falls flat on its face.

But then again we're talking about the average CoD consumer so...

And have less people potentially buy and try IW? No.

They want you to buy the Legacy Edition so that you could try out IW while boosting its sales sky high.
 
So is the version of IW that comes with COD4 $60 or is it costing more due to the pack in?

If it's normal COD price then I'll buy it but if it's inflated they can bolt.
 
I'm sure that deep within the bowels of Activision there's a team of data scientists who have determined that they'll make more money by doing it this way. Because there's literally no other reason to. Releasing the remaster at all is a really confusing move.
 
Cool, I guess I'll be waiting until it is. Infinite Warfare looks zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I have Titanfall 2, the new Battlefield and Black Ops 3 to tide me over until then.
