Well, this was certainly an unexpected piece of news to wake up to. And I don't want to sound mean, but where's my DQ8 and FF12 PC ports, SquareEnix?

It's cool that it's coming to Steam and all, there's a PS4 version out already. If it's cheaper than the current PS4 version I might take it under consideration.

Just don't pull a Tales of-like screw up.

HOLY SHIT

I want to congratulate GhostTrick, who predicted accurately back in January 4th that work on FFX/FFX-2 had been completed already, but Squeenix was sitting on it, waiting to release FFIX first.

I've been checking SteamDB and more specifically some of the leaked games. And Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD caught my attention.

It seems that the work on the game started 9 months ago and stopped 4 months ago... basically, 5 months of work, which is basically the time you'd expect for a port. But since 4 months, the game hasn't been updated on the database. Could they be sitting on it, waiting for IX to be released first ? Did they just cancelled it ? (well technically, you can't cancel what hasn't been announced :p ) Or maybe they haven't finished it ! And are now taking time ?

I really find these leaks interesting in the sense that it basically shows when devs are working on a game and when they made progress significant enough to upload changes.

Really? Especially after the Database leak of Steam's that showed it being there wayyy before this announcement?

He's joking. It was widely assumed that the PS2 Final Fantasy games never moved beyond Sony platforms because Sony was involved with development/publishing to some degree, even though there was no evidence to support this beyond the games' absences.

First, FF is not episodic. Second, no PC is still missing I, II, and XII for mainline titles.

xii , always forget this one. (because it is a massive deception imo)
but i'm surprised i,ii,ii are not released.

And sorry for my bad english. was entry a better choice of word ?

Was thinking about getting it for Vita. Is it worth it for handheld?

Yes.

I own this on PS3, Vita, and PS4; the Vita version is still by far the one I play the most. Being able to suspend/resume is godly for both X and X-2, as is the Vita-exclusive quick heal menu. It looks and runs great, and you can play it anywhere.

I wonder if cross/cloud saving will be a feature. I'll still working through my console copy. In for sure if that's the case.
Steam Cloud is confirmed, but cross-save with PS3/V/4 versions is highly unlikely. If you're lucky, someone will make a save-import tool, but don't count on it.

I want this. as its my fav final fantasy game and I have on vita, ps3 and ps4. and I would rather play it on pc but.. . I really don't want to pay 30$ for it ( not showing the price for me for some reason )

Does the remaster fixes the 'no exp for party members not taking any action in battle' quirk?
I recall having to switch all of them for a single turn every single battle when I played the PS2 Int edition... Got old really fast.

That's not a quirk...if you wanted to be pedantic about it you could point out it'd make little sense for people who didn't fight in combat to gain experience from it. Regardless I don't think it changed the game like that. Once you get strong enough it's not like any battle really requires you to switch out so everyone appears. I think.

I've never played a Final Fantasy game before. Might give this a shot later on when we're going through a dry spell of no new games.

Quad dipping for sure.

Some people have problems with the updated faces, some people have problems with the remastered OST, I honestly think Virtuos did a great job on the remaster.

Crazy we now finally live in a world where PC is the platform of choice for Final Fantasy fans.

This is excellent news! I hope all pc bros who's never played X enjoys it. Hopefully all these re-releases will eventually lead up to Square Enix greenlighting X-0 or X-3.

Probably not. But you don't really need like... 80% of the party.

Just use Meg Ryan, Auron, and maybe (mayyyyyyyyyyyyyyybe) Lulu if you need Black Magic. Otherwise use Wakka for Overdrive or Yuna if you want the (useless in the base version) Summons.

Otherwise Meg Ryan and Auron broke the game, especially Auron if you just leveled him and went through others stats.

Wakka is probably the most broken character in the game. Has the potential to easily deal the most damage with his last overdrive. It's insane.

I just got the Platinum in X last month so I'll wait on this for a while but I'll get it for the original voices and songs.

And i just bought the PS4 version 3 months ago (still unplayed). I wonder how it will run. At 60 fps it could justify purchasing it again, but given what little time I have left for gaming, I see myself using the built-in cheats.

Immediate purchase for me, like all FF ports on Steam. Hopefully we get word of I and II before long, considering they are just Android ports.
