So the island is based on Oahu. The southern volcano is Diamond Head, the city is Honolulu/Pearl Harbor, and the mountain with the waterfall is Sacred Falls.

Obviously this island is too small to be the entire region. How many islands will it be? Obviously they have to have the main island.

This is always a silly counter-point. Voltorb was a gimmick Pokémon built on the fact that overworld items were designed to look like Pokéballs. It was a gameplay inspired player trap.

More like they designed those traps after designing Voltorb since art in games are usually finalized before they start world building.

This is such a non issue. By the time it starts to matter if you haven't picked up a counterrible typing for your rival's starter you have fucked up.

All three starters + legendaries + Hawaii region + new trainers and professor look amazing!

I think I'm most partial to the seal starter and lion legendary at the moment.

Most refreshing design is definitely Litten, though. Really unique design.

Well theres a difference between implementing the attributes in the design of pokemon without getting ridiculous with colors and shapes and just laziness with with make a cat red and black or slap a leaf infront of the owl.

Maybe the evos look much better but the starters look lame and uninspired.
