Pokémon Sun and Moon Starters Revealed. Releases November 18th 2016.

If I can only get one, it's gonna be Sun for that lion.

Glad Europes getting punished after leaking it last time.

We already have seals and cat. There are soooo many water choices they could've gone but noooooo. I'm going for the owl most likely. I usually choose grass anyway except for piplup gen.
We already had birds too. Oh no!

Thought these were cute:

WHERE YOU AT DAD!?

I hope guys get more clothing and hair options this game. It was a travesty I couldn't rock long hair in the last one.

I love Rowlet, too bad it has that typing :/
Surprised I haven't heard any "Litten belong in the litterbox" jokes. I like it, cats are good, cats are life.

I mean....ice beam is more or less all you need when ALL water types and a few others can can learn it lol.

No lies, but if the Rowlett line is a fast physical attacker, you're not getting off an Ice Beam before you get worked.

Hopefully Rowlett is balanced for that. I see its evo being fast but knowing GF, they gonna make it some lumbering hefty bird.

Wow, they got rid of the chibi proportions to the characters. The areas shown so far look really good, and different enough from X/Y and OR/AS to pique my interest.

The starters though?

Grass - Rowlet is kind of dull looking, or maybe it's just my indifference towards owls in general peeking through.

Fire - Litten is, IMO, the best looking one of the bunch. Its design holds the most promise to become something awesome looking, or at the very least, it's unlikely to veer into something hideous.

Water - Popplio... Oh boy. Ever since I was a kid I would pick the water starter for my first run of a pokemon game. However, Oshawott burned me so hard I almost passed up Froakie in gen 6. I was never sold on Oshawott's design (again, a little seal with clown design elements) and his look got more and more awkward as it evolved. I'm not taking my chances with this one, as I've disliked every single aquatic mammal pokemon Gamefreak has created to date.

The legendaries look better than the previous gen's efforts, and probably the strongest box art designs since Giratina's Origin form. The sun one especially has managed to hook me, even though it looks like a Pyroar's mega form. I also like how it fits into its cover better than its counterpart.

This trailer has accomplished its job. It's piqued my interest, got me talking, and left me hungry for more.

If all three starters go with a circus motif I can see that. Rowlet and it's evos would be the ringleader, Popplio and it's evos would be the clown/animal performer, and Litten and it's evos would be the fire breather/swallower.

That's super clever. I hadn't thought of that at all but I think you could be right for sure.

After thinking about the trailers for a moment, I think my biggest gripe is actually with running animation.
I could give or take the clown seal, but overall all starters look fine. Region looks nice and sunny. Legendaries are a little all over the place design-wise, but whatever. Overall I'm hyped enough to wait one extra week for Europe release.

Greninja's pretty fast... Blizzard's another option.

#TeamSun - the lion legend looks awesome!

Not sure about these starters. I'll have to see their evolutions before I make a decision.

I'm so happy that we can choose our SKIN TONE AGAIN! and Hawaii is a good region choice.

Day one for Moon. Tradition dictates I pick Water for my starter, but man... that owl and cat are vastly superior looking. Hopefully the lil' seal has a beastly final evolution to sway me back to the right path.

Regular/Protean greninja or starmie will likely ohko this thing in one hit lol.

Fantastic world, ugly starters, nice character models and wonky framerate. But what's up with the audio? Sound is compressed as fuck, played some music on my computer and its not from it.

Anyway, will buy the 2 versions, as always.

The framerate looked perfectly fine, there was a single very shorter stutter when all three starters where brought out and then a drop when the moon legendary used a move.

What? That is like one of the best new features of recent times. Pokémon tries to tell us this is our adventure so why not allow us to try and make our trainer look the way we want them to look. Just need to allow us to get to the barbers to change our hairstyle asap.

Instead of focusing on one great design they do multiple mediocre or shitty designs for the hair, the shirt and the pants. It clearly lacks inspiration and the possibilities are so reduced that yeah, I miss the good old designs that don't change but were so cool and you felt unique. Here the boy hero is just a random young trainer that you find on Road 2.

Changing the color of the skin and of the hair is ok since it doesn't interfere with the general design.

Overworld looks interesting and pretty detailed. However the graphics have me hoping there will be some formidable NX version (if the system even has portable elements that is). The starters are certainly different, I'm feeling the Owl and Kitten but not so much the Seal.
