Pokémon Sun and Moon Starters Revealed. Releases November 18th 2016.

Well, since the 3DS is essentially their only major revenue stream this year, the Friday before Thanksgiving in the US is probably a good idea for launching.

I mean Litten won't be Fire/Fighting this time I think by the end of it's Evolutionary chain.

However, it's going to just be a Fire/Dark Cat, not dog, Houndoom isn't it? Going by just color schemes anyway.

Wasn't expecting Hawaii hopefully if surfing is prevalent like in Gen 3 they include some variety of Pokemon you see when surfing or really just have a lot of pokemon in the regional dex in general like in Gen 6. Gonna go Moon and probably go Rowlet for starter. Of the three starters Litten feels kinda generic, but maybe its evolutions will be amazing.

All the whining about bad looking starters. Hyperbole ahoy.

Gen 7's handily beat Gen 2, 5 and 6's. The owl and dark cat are awesome and the water sealion is allright.

Gen 7 starters >>>> Gen 5. Definitely agree.

Rowlet is better looking than Chespin, but Froakie and Fennekin have Litten and Popplio beat.

I think Rowlet is also a better design that Chikorita, but again, I think Litten and Popplio are inferior designs to Totadile and Cyndaquil.

Rowlet and Litten are actually quite cool. I didn't like Popplio too much though... I hope all their evolution looks good!

About the legendaries I think I likes Sun a bit more. Still, need to check the batch of "exclusive" Pokémon in each version to decide!

The world and graphics are really cool! Pretty refreshing for me at least, that has only played ORAS on 3DS.

Have I complained about Sugimori not drawing the cover legends in this thread yet? Because it bothers me. The shading is way too flat, it looks like promotional art for the anime.

The game itself looks amazing. I hated all the starters 5 minutes ago, but now I love the grass and water ones. Cat is bad. I see potential in all three for the final stages. Legendaries are okay.

I'm happy.

I love the flavor Litten has as an exploding kitten. It better learn self destruct.

Rowlet is my favorite. Love the bowtie <3.

Popplio has lots of personality.

The new starters designs don't look hot.

You're right. They're

Seriously, best set since Gen 3.

My first thought when I saw them was, "I can't place why, but those look like something out of Yo-Kai Watch." Second thought was, "Welp, gotta go with the fire cat, no question."

So mad the Sun legendary is a lion, though. I was all set for Moon because I always favor moon when the solar/lunar dichotomy is used. But I'm also a huge cat person so lion >>> weird-moon-bat. Saw a deviantart picture guessing the Moon legendary would be a wolf, and now I'm sad it's not a wolf. :(

Sure I just need time to warm up, but all the new guys seriously look like Fakemon. I can't even put my finger on why, there's just something different about the proportions or... Something.

The bat legendary for Moon looks awesome. That's probably the version I'll get now. I'm team owl, too. Torn between Rowlet and Popplio. Will probably end up going Rowlet, though. I've wanted an owl starter for a while.

Popplio just looks goofy as hell but of course it'll probably get the best final form.

Or it ends up like Chesnaught.

I'll tell you what, 3rd stage should not be a hefty Walrien. They should do a different design.

I have really warmed up to all three starters. All three of them seem to have personality.

Question. Does the Sun/Moon anime start before the release of the games. Maybe Ill follow it this time. Never really done that before.

Sure I just need time to warm up, but all the new guys seriously look like Fakemon. I can't even put my finger on why, there's just something different about the proportions or... Something.

I legit thought they were Fakemon while looking at them on the thumbnail for the trailer on the official Pokemon channel. My brain was instantly like "these can't be real"

Popplio just really, really needs to get a secondary typing. I'm already kind of worried just because the animal used is calling Samurott to mind, which was the only water starter to disappoint me. So yeah, please Gamefreak, just don't give me a plain water type final evolution again...

Oh, and my personal thing that first came to mind for the Sun legendary, since we seem to be sharing:

(Though to be fair I misremembered it as having Falzar's color scheme, which probably would've made it a bit closer)

There are dolphins in the waters around Hawaii right?

A dolphin Pokemon has to be there.
