You do know that cats have whiskers, right?

Gamefreak sure doesn't.

Much like how people complained about Greninja's "lack of bubble scarf", people miss the idea of Chesnaught's design. He is wearing armor with the ripened chestnut motif. No that is not his bare body - he is literally wearing armor, not just the backshield, and said colors match the chestnut colors which is admittedly bland.

The brown parts of Quilladin/Chespin are inside the armor, much like how the insides of a ripened chestnut is brown. It's one of those "themes that makes sense when you realize how it came from", just like why Altaria's typing is like that.

But "realizing where it came from" doesn't validate or make the design "good". That's why it's not a chestnut, they are inspired by something but they have liberties over the motifs they add to the pokemon.

IMO it's really detrimental to the overall design that they took the color "literally" from the source. They could've done something better.

I almost always picked the Water starter in previous gens but I have to have the surly kitten.

Also won't Rowlett be weak to both of the starters? It'll be 4X weak to Popplio once it learns ice moves.

GameXplain analysis will be wonderful & the discussion they will surely have for sure

I'm going for Pokemon Sun the legend looks awesome

Does it have feet how does it rest unless it's floats?

Lion Legend Fire?
Lord Zubat Psychic/ and either dark ghost fairy

Eh, I disagree on that. Some designs start bad but when you realize what it made them, suddenly they click. Like how at first I thought Doublade was lazy, but then after looking at motifs of sword crests, it doesn't look bad.

And well, they could have, but they were at least consistent. Many people miss the fact that Chesnaught is wearing armor for instance, and think only the green area is the armor.

GameFreak is aware of this... Thats how I know Rowlet will have some ace maneuver in its back pocket.

Wether it's type changes, or it has uber stats.

I think it just comes from the fact that most people don't remember Gen II Pokemon and think most of them were introduced in Gen III.
When I was a kid, I always thought Corsola, Skarmory, Lanturn and a few others were Hoenn Pokemon.

Woah, didn't expect the switch to full 3D. It is full 3D now right? I thought I saw the camera move but I guess the character was just going down a slope and the camera moved with him.

Empoleon was weak to both other starters' secondary types and had no resistances to either starters' primary types.

One starter not quite being even isn't out of the ordinary.

Watching through the trailer again, they do a much better job of diversifying night and day in SM too. Gen 6 you could barely tell when the time of day changed, it was always so goddamn bright.

RSE didn't have Eevee.

BW was weird.

Not in RSE or BW?

But yeah the odds that they don't make it accessible are pretty slim.

A main game in each region, as in at least one.

I forgot it wasn't in Emerald though, whoops.

Starter history:
Gen I: Charmander
Gen II: Totodile (Best starter)
Gen III: Treeko
Gen IV: Turtwig
Gen V: Snivy
Gen VI: (I haven't played X/Y but I did breed one of its starters for when I restarted for an OR/AS playthrough a few months ago) Froakie
Gen VII: Litten*

*If it turns into another badly designed bipedal or Fire/Fighting, i'm switching to Rowlet. I doubt it since given the carnival theme it's going to end up as a tiger or lion (leaning more towards tiger since we have a box art and just got Pyroar a few years ago) but I remember Tepig and how it...changed so i'm not going to be that surprised if it happens.

I think this is the first time I've felt no hype at all from a Pokemon game trailer. It's just a big 'meh' from me. Not a massive fan of the starters, and until they reveal gameplay info in the coming months I don't really see anything appealing from the tidbits we got in this trailer.

I mean I'll definitely play them at some point, but I was still hoping for a much more radical change to the series at this point.
