Litten is not the first pokemon to be 1 letter off from a regular word, they've been doing this since gen 1.

We don't know. It could be a side-story in SM, the stories of Gen 6 and 7 could be related, it could be completely forgotten or it could even still get it's own Gen 7 game. No way to tell atm.

Plenty of speculation that Zygarde will have some part to play here (the colors on the Perfect Form match up with Xerneas, Yveltal, and the two new mascot legendaries.) Of course, it could all just be rampant reaching in hopes that Gamefreak wouldn't just forget about Zygarde.

Interesting to note, in the trailer, some people believe that behind the sun lion, there's an X, and behind the moon bat, there's a Y.

What if, when you start up a Sun/Moon game, you get the ability to download 'Episode Z' for X/Y and the 'Battle Frontier' for ORAS?

Very unlikely.

With Sun and Moon being launched at the end o this year, it looks like that the third edition of Gen 6 won't be launching. Does that mean that Zygarde's story with the mini blobs ends here? And what's going to happen to Thousand arrows/waves?

Zygarde's story has been put into the animé, so I don't think that Zygarde will take a big focus of the story and will probably get an episode Z like thing in the post game or just end up being forgotten.

Either way I don't want Zygarde's story getting in the way of gen 7, it was bad enough that X and Y had the gen 1 pandering getting in the way.

Gen 1 had Tauros and gave the legendary birds Spanish numbering as part of their name.

Litten is a fine name and is better than Charmander's Japanese name which is Hitokage which translate to Fire lizard.

Yes, that's the popular theory. Would certainly wrap up X and Y's story in an interesting and new way. More speculation being that the eight islands in few from the Sundial in Anistar are actually a look where the fabled moondial would be located. (And given that Alola is an island chain foreseeably.)

That'd be really nice! Would certainly make sense. A more recent character I think might make an appearance/name drop is Olympia.
