So two years ago, we had a pretty neat thread based on all the awesome Splatoon art that started to pop up all over. Overwatch seems to have similarly taken off...we're like just a week away from release and the internet is practically littered with the stuff!

The OT fanart is pretty amazing. But 99% of the stuff that gets thrown around in OW threads (and even threads that have nothing to do with OW) puts the overwatch fan base in the running for "creepiest fanbase of the decade" category.

I don't think I've ever seen a fanbase revolve around this stuff so fast. It's like Sonic fans + tumblr + twitch chat + my little pony + a 13 year old girl's notebook had a baby.

Lmao, I'm not a fan either, but given how what pops up in other Overwatch threads, that's kind of what I expect this thread to tilt towards.

I made the thread because I'd like to actually see some fan-art of the dudes or dudes with girls rather than just girls and girls with girls. It seems hard to find

Ahmed is a super talented artist I follow him on youtube and he does some great tutorial videos with some really useful information. This is a super cool video, I'd love to actually use something like tilt brush.

That's when you ask money for commissions. There are many people out there who really appreciate art, so they ask an artist to draw a really artistic image featuring their favorite characters doing artistic things. Makes pretty good money I've heard.

Aside from the fanart done just because they enjoy the subject matter, fanart of established properties is one of the best ways to build visibility, recognition and a persistent following - and if they're running a patreon or something to monetise their work, that's essential.
