Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Has Made Certain Bosses And NPCs Unkillable Following Backlash In China

This is the double edged sword of fandom...where some of your fans are just retarded.

People are so sensitive these days they can't even separate fiction from reality without it giving them butthurt.

2025 has showen us that our friends in Japan and China are just like us in the West l, a bunch of woke soyboys.

1.It's a video game.
2.That's less exp for me to farm.
3.Fighting Honglan is still awful.
It's never a videogame with China. With Qing Dynasty you can shit on them as much as you want, but not with the Ming, these are useful as part of China's glorious "5000 years of history".

Changing the game's content (in a negative way) after people have bought it is always a shitty move. In a better world there would be a toggle for immortal characters and bosses, active by default in the Chinese version and an option for other regions. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure the pressure isn't coming only from the Chinese players and no one wants to piss off the ruling party.

My guess is it's a cultural thing. China values honoring your ancestors more than America, additionally they're not used to free speech. If there was a game that had you fighting and killing the American founding fathers, there would be backlash here too from conservative news outlets, but most people would chalk it up to the first amendment and disengage.

China isn't used to that. Change takes time.

We can all agree these changes make the actual game less fun to play though.

Yeah this is a huge L for these devs who've been doing pretty great work with post-launch updates otherwise.

Chinese are so thin skinned, and it comes from the top. Ccp is always whining about being offended by something and having their feelings hurt.

Imagine beating Sword Saint Isshin in Sekiro and he says "nice job, good fight" and walks away into the sunset, lmao.

Dunno. But the Chinese are whiny little bitches, just like everyone else in the world. It's just other kinds of bullshit they whine about.
Steam reviews are rather amusing since they like to whine about any game that doesn't have great Mouse and Keyboard support.

I guess it's a good thing we can just roll back to 1.4 on PC. Since these changes completely destroy the worldbuilding.

I think they forgot about the games kill on sight towards anyone with Feathering and the Madness the disease inflicts on everyone.

I remember them whining (and review bombing) a smaller game on Steam because it mentioned Taiwan or something.

Ah yes I remember Marvel Rivals and they don't allow you to type in anything related to Taiwan or anything they don't agree with or certain historical figures they do not like or want to remember.

Oh here we go

Not per se, but since they're into changing narrative and\or censorship, and nerfing enemies because of reasons, it can be called
Right. But in an overarching perspective it's kinda historically inaccurate. I mean, censoring is conservative Christians in a nutshell, they've been infamously trying to censor videogames (and music/TV/movies) for four decades. Then in some recent years some extremes on the "woke" side did their failed attempt at it. It's a sinus curve of stupid.

When it comes to China, they've become somewhat of a superpower, and with that they've gained a lot of national pride and patriotism in recent years, and now they're testing the limits of the cultural waters so-to-speak.

Edit: Removed some inflammatory language

PeteBull PeteBull and GymWolf GymWolf , here is a crazy level of wokeness interfering with a popular game, and you both are nowhere to be seen.

I commend Kacho Kacho for being consistent and making comments in this thread.
Sorry bro, didnt watch trailer/gameplay for this game(not to mention buying/playing it) so got nothing of value to say, i will chime in when/if i care but for now i somehow dont :P

You can still chime in and give your opinion on how some woke devs are ruining gaming. No need to have watched the trailer, the topic headline and the OP is enough context.

Because, this is a crazy case of really changing a game.

Wait, it's not even actually released in China and likely won't release in China?

Wtf are they even responding to chinese player complaints then?

Boycott devs that push censorship, they don't deserve to succeed as a business.

What bothers me is censoring the game that players have already paid for. It removes an individual's choice on whether to support censorship and is a bad precedent. I haven't bought this game and won't now and I'll avoid any games in the future from them - because, whatever the reason, I don't want to financially support censorship.

Sorry, dont care enough, im not informed enough if it was anything woke in there or just ppl with very traditional culture views getting offended and putting preasure on the devs, once again 0 input from me, u guys go ahead tho :)

I don't understand, why only just now did they decide to make this change? Game has been out for several months.

Never mind, I'm a dumbass, I was thinking of Wukong lol.

The dev themselves are Chinese/located in China so I doubt Chinese nationalists whining in steam reviews was the only pressure they were getting. We'll never know though.
