Cars already looks better IMO.
Yes but everything else will take a hit .
Even more so when they start adding things like weather .
Also racing tracks are boring looking so that going to matter .

I'm getting it day 1. I have faith in Kaz and PD. I love everything shown so far. But I also agree that they need to improve car sounds and have better crash/collision physics. Can people refrain from posting any positives about the game, you're being apologists. Can we not discuss anything and just talk shit about info we know nothing about. And, if you've pre-ordered the game or out like that, cancel it - because you're being an apologist.
GT Sport so far has failed to exceed or even meet standards that were set in this genre an entire generation ago. All of this while still maintaining issues that have plagued the series for multiple releases. Go back an look at what Prologue offers us one year into PS3. That's nine years ago! If anything, GT has the biggest group of apologists and excuse makers of any other racing game. They are coasting on their name alone. The need a massive kick up the ass and wake up call.
Just to be sure I understand this, GT Sport is race cars only, right?

No they'll have all kinds of cars, slow mass production cars, expensive sport cars, GT cars, LMP, fantasy GT-vision cars... all of it. Just not a lot overall compared to what GT fans have gotten used to (but that's a positive in my opinion, as long as what's there is awesomely detailed and simulates all the tech too).
So why isn't this called GT7? Is something different from usual?
It is GT7 they basically said as much.So why isn't this called GT7? Is something different from usual?
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/05/19/gran-turismo-sport-launches-on-ps4-november-15th-2016/GT Sport is the worlds first racing experience to be built from the ground up to bring global, online competitions sanctioned by the highest governing body of international motorsports, the FIA (Federation International Automobile). Create your legacy as you represent and compete for your home country or favorite manufacturer through multiple race classes, including GT3, Prototype, Rally, and more.

Is it not early to be saying this .
I agree that sound \collision physics should be fix but we don't really have much info on the game .

Oh ok my mistake then lol. They didn't say anything like that. People read into that tweet too much. It's funny, really.
Seems a lot of people's bubbles were burst last night. Shame Kaz's wasn't included. I really do wonder if he is totally unaware of what Turn 10, SMS, Kunos and SimBin have produced recently.
It's a mix of race cars, road cars, and Vision GT cars. But here are some of the road cars

The Eurogamer guy went on to say Kaz stated this could have been called GT7.

Divergence from your topic, but I have misgivings about so many backgrounds being photographs for those travel shots. It feels...tacky? I don't know. Forza 4 did something similar with full 360-degree garage spaces which were basically indistinguishable, but even there I wish the elements were 3D models.
Of course final judgments are to be reserved when the game is released but lets not ignore two major aspects of what we have seen so far. There are six months left for developments, and this is PD who's track record of under delivering is concerning at best. There is no way the physics engine is getting a ground up rebuild between now and release, and what we saw yesterday was GT6 physics. In six months they are going to undo all of the legacy garbage things in GT games like lifeless transmissions, over grippy slick tires and arcadey slip angles? These were all front and center to see if people stopped caring about trees and bushes. I dont thing any of their physics, tire model, sound design, etc was overhauled nearly to the extent it should have been. Again, these are impressions, but this is also what they showed us during a big live stream event six months out. PD's track record during the PS3 era does not leave me optomistic. But those who are, more power to you.

The sound here is much better. I'd actually say everything is much better. Why didn't they show this last night?
It's not perfect but it's much better than the shit they showed yesterday.

Just being honest, when I saw it, I thought the graphics were really mehhh and did not get me excited. I expected better.
This doesn't look good either - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-05-19-gt-sport-preview
why does the name of the game matter?
I'm cool with it because the purpose of the Photo Travel photography has always been on the cars. So they just found a method that allows them to have a bunch of backgrounds while the car is still the star.
Still bothered by those 2d tree sprites. Ewww
The sense of speed is great tho.
Is that Tokyo track fictional? Would be strange but if that distinctive skyscraper with the curved sides is the Sompo Japan Building, it doesn't seem to fit the surrounding buildings pefectly and doesn't really have an expressway alongside.
Full TOD progression, dynamic weather, would be two things that I'd expect to see.
Proper race sessions, qualifying, flag rules.
It's supposed to be part of the C1 Loop on the Shuto Expressway.
Common man, the sound is still terrible. Assetto Corsa and Forza are on the low end of sound (AMS and R3E have far better sound), but they both sound a million times better than your clip. Your clip still sounds like GT6 as far as I can tell from the noisy off-screen recording.Ok this was posted in the other thread:

Is that stuff confirmed for offline against Ai play?GT5 did that 6 years ago.
GTS is doing the second line: flag rules, safety car, qualifying (even GT5 had this), classed racing etc.
Its like some of you don't even play these games.
I can understand the reasoning behind excuses in pretty much everything for GT Sport - some are good reasons, but not in sound. They knew, they had time, they had money. No excuses.
My thoughts are it would not be acceptable to bring GT7 with less cars/possibly tracks than GT6.
So spin off the franchise and cut all the crap from the past GT games like those standard cars and go from there with FIA as the spin.
Damn.I remember when the GT series was the leading franchise in the racing genre (Including graphics and sound).Common man, the sound is still terrible. A lot of the 2d foliage that was in the trailer are actually gone from this buiild, so I'm actually pretty hopeful by final release they'll have eliminated all (or nearly all of them).

I was speculating that perhaps those 400 cars will still need some work done to be brought into this engine like textures, materials (maybe even sounds) which once done, gets them to super premium level, and they didn't want a discrepancy between car models this time around, hence only included the super premiums they have so far in this release.if you cut all the standard cars from GT6 you still have 400 premiums. No reason they couldn't be used
