There you go, bonus.

Wow, it's a nice attention to details to feature the selected car in the tracks selection screenshots (starting at the 5:50 mark).
Kazunori told me new builds were coming in from Japan every 8 hours.
Crazy.Jordan from GTPlanet:
The game evolved before my eyes since I first saw it on Wednesday. I noticed a lot of screen tearing and frame rate issues at first, which were significantly improved by the end of the day on Friday. Kazunori told me new builds were coming in from Japan every 8 hours.

So they only actually started working on it this week?

Nothing about Polyphony Digital seems efficient at all.
It's very common to continually update builds for gaming shows.
That explains alot.Jordan from GTPlanet:

I was speaking to @SlipZtrEm via PM last night and both of us expressed concerns regarding the weird movement from the streams, this seems to be an issue with the code being used in the spectator mode, as its certainly has nothing to do with the actual handling of the cars and is not present at all in the replays from single player races or time trials.
Build systems are automated nowadays, so it's no surprise they build three releases a day.I fully admit I don't know how PD operate with development but how do they go about iterating builds every 8 hours if a gold master takes 3 months?
I understand to the extent that a gold master is a consumer ready "bug free" complete game but how can so many issues be fixed/improved so much every 8 hours?
Did anyone ask about weather? The damage question was great, at first the only reply was "Yeah, we'll have damage". Still not sure if that's cosmetic or actual damage, surely if it's only cosmetic that'll affect how people drive online? We'll see about that I guess.
It's very common to continually update builds for gaming shows.
Are there any videos of someone going from the menus to a full race?

Yeah that's easily noticeable. Good to have confirmation though. Nice.Kaz confirmed the cars are tessellated. Makes sense the majority of GT6 400 premiums had to be dropped, I think there were less than 100 premiums that supported tessellation.

Poor google translation
- Super-premium car is roughly What polygon?
Yamauchi said: if there is a place you have not recently much aware of that the number of polygons count, because, I think I do not say I what polygon because they are to be tessellated to adaptive.

Scaff said:Yesterday he actually said it was at 50% of the quality they were aiming for rather than 50% complete.
There will be dynamic TOD, but weather won't
I have angered you. I am sorry for criticising PD and GT Sport. Both are obviously without reproach.
I don't actually remember accusing PD of 'lying and incompetency' about the beta, but I'm sure that if I did, you have a quote to hand.
And whether you like it or not, the announcement of the beta last year was Very Big News. A lot of casual and hardcore gamers were looking forward to it, and a lot of people will be upset when they finally find out that it's been quietly cancelled. Just because you have a crystal ball and somehow knew it was never going to happen doesn't mean that everyone else did, and even if you frequent GT Sport threads on gaming forums then you might not even learn it's no longer happening.
Edit: and you do hopefully realise that YOU just accused PD of lying by saying "I never banked on any beta. That was all bollocks from the start".
Physician, heal thyself.
Yeah makes sense.Just for clarification, the game isn't 50% complete. It's just the quality level is 50% of what they want it to be.

AgreedLooks beautiful and really solid, but my God, the engine noise and tyre squeals. Awful. Truly awful.
Placeholders, hopefully.

Build systems are automated nowadays, so it's no surprise they build three releases a day.
Also, since it's still WIP, developers have probably included lots of debugging traces along with their code, to check how it behaves and fix issues.
Simply disabling some of these debugging traces may be sufficient to recover some performance, and be able to fix tearing issues, for example.
it only looks half decent when the video is on mute.
I think we are holding onto good memories here and we dont want GT to fade.
if this was some random racing game shown from some random developer I would be hard pressed to find anyone interested in this. These cars are arguably the most exciting to drive in a racing game and it looks like a bore.
Just for a comparison, here is PCars same track on ps4

Actually this looks worse to me than GTS footage. GTS feels more realistic.it only looks half decent when the video is on mute.

I posted those quotes from GT6 impressions (a few of them from the same sites praising GTS in a familiar way) because we've done this dance before. From gameplay impressions all the way up to the point where the game is in our hands we are told either A) so much has changed and improved B) we are not seeing or hearing things correctly. It is a bad pair of head phones, the wrong surround sound settings, or C) the real big changes are just around the corner. In the form of a new build, a new patch , of an entirely new release, the next GT will not only fix these issues, but knock it out of the park.
This notion that any new GT footage has to be viewed off the reflection of swamp gas to somehow see or hear these supposed massive changes is tiresome and I have personally fell for it before. A few outlets have GT die hards who are more than happy to be an extension of the PD and Kaz PR smoke and mirrors game. So many people are willing to make excuses for PD and Kaz over and over.
If PD never releases a revolutionary GT game again, I'll live. There are so many good racing sims now. However, I genuinely want GT to return to form as a lifelong fan and someone who truly appreciates their moments of brilliance. As it stands, I am seeing lots of last gen GT systems stil kicking around (some of which span multiple gens), including the same tired defense force excuses. I want to believe, but PD have no one to blame but themselves that a lot of us are fed up with the franchise.

pCars Willow looks pretty bad to me. GTS still needs more lively engine sounds in comparison to the video though.

Amen to that.
I don't know exactly what it is, but Gran Turismo races always look a bit like track days where everyone is driving at 60% because they don't want to prang their expensive cars. Races always look... pedestrian somehow.
This looks much worse than GTS, piss filter lighting looks awful! Does sound better though.it only looks half decent when the video is on mute.
