Got back from X-Men: Apocalypse just now. Found it to be a really enjoyable film. I've loved the previous two films and X2, and I felt Apocalypse stacks up just a tad below them. Definitely not the disaster the critics and so many more have said it is. Far from it. Going to give a brief rundown as to what I liked and didn't.
+ Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy as Magneto and Charles Xavier, respectively. The two best actors in the X-Men films. They can easily act circles around 99 % of the cast, and that of MCU as well. They're that good.
+ None of the stupid humour you'll find in other Marvel films. The humour was there, but it wasn't of the cheap split-second Downey variety, which is a huge, huge plus these days.
+ Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse. While I would have liked a more direct adaptation from the 90's cartoons, he was still good here. Was a great feeling seeing the character finally on-screen after years and years of hoping.
+ Quicksilver, yet again
+ Some strong character moments.
+ Metallica's The Four Horsemen
- Some characters underutilized
- Even though the plot held up quite decently throughout, for the most part, it ended up getting a bit muddled towards the end.
- Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. Seriously now. She has to go. It was clear she didn't even want to be there. Really poor job by JL.

Overall, as I said, the film was enjoyable. Could it have been better? Ofcourse. But it's NOT the disaster some are saying it is. Atleast in my opinion.
