The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

I lost my save so I started again a few days ago. Just got to Novigrad. Gwent is still my favorite part, haha. My deck is basically all: Bond units / Spies / Decoys / Horns and then using the Clear Skies commander card.

I always seem to post near the very bottom of a page. Reposting to see if anyone has answers:

Two questions (playing on PS4):

- My play time seems to be bugged or something in the new UI. When I go to the inventory screen and hit R2, it only shows 13 hours and some odd minutes... Obviously, I've played much longer than this. What gives?

- Are there any quests you can miss in BaW by progressing too far in the main quest line? I'm intrigued by the central plot and was going to play through it before diving into some of the optional stuff, but of course won't do so if I'll be locked out of anything.

Is it just my brain giving me false memories or have they changed the inventory where before when you picked up new items they stayed at the top of your inventory with the yellow asterisk until you checked them out, but now they are all jumbled up with old items and impossible to find?

It's doing my head in lol.

Got my ass whooped by the innkeeper in gwent.

Fucking boats man.

Skellige deck is no joke! Lol

I had the strongest cards and only beat him by the skin of my teeth. Best ways to describe them is a mix of monsters with nilfgaard.

Cerys' card is a beast, and those berserkers will wreck your shit if you don't have a scorch or frost card.

I love how you're able to bet a maximum of 100 coin now. Get a nice return of 200 if you win the match.

The first inn keeper? I whooped his ass first try. I play a northern realms deck.

I beat him on the 2nd try.

Thank god for scorch. lol

Yeah those berserkers are stupid if you don't have those special cards to nullify them.

I feel pretty over-leveled at 39. Thinking about switching over to Death March from Blood and Broken Bones. Is there a major gap between the two difficulties?

I've been rocking BaW so far on Death March with my level 41 Geralt and so far it's been manageable if you're not playing like an idiot. Oils, bombs and potions used against vampires are a must, maxed out at their superior level if possible. The second and third boss were a bit a challenge.

Overall, the enemies in Toussaint are a lot more aggressive and have ways to escape from Geralt's attacks easily. As long as you're landing critical hits often and hard, you're good.

yeah those plant dudes suck. The issue for me is one always seem to teleport behind a freaking tent or some weird location that geralt can't melee.

Guys I need help! I have 1 gwent card left to get.

It's next to "the skellige isles". Not the bit at the bottom of the book for misc cards to be won.

Does this mean it's from a specific NPC in skellige and if so how can I find out? Cheers

What do you mean by "next to"? Does it say located in Skellige? Check the islands off from the Ard Skellig (the main island). If it's only one than it's likely won in a match rather than bought from an Innkeeper or merchant. They usually sell two or more when you first encounter them.

If you really want to narrow its exact location and which card you're missing, use this site to check off all the cards you have in your decks - http://gwentcards.com You'll be able to easily identify which card you are missing.

I was able to identify six cards that were missing and was able to pinpoint their exact locations with that site.

Northern Realms has 37, Nilfgaard has 38, Scoia'tael has 37, and Monster Deck has 40. Lastly there are 31 neutral cards that comprise of weather cards, 3 decoys, 3 commander horns, 3 scorches, and particular hero cards.

Yeah it says 1 next to "the skellige isles".

I meant it's not next to the bit down the bottom that says "won from players of no particular renown or skill".

I went through a ton of random merchants and other NPCs to get that last bit from 6 to 0. All of these were in the skellige isles. But that 1 next to it is still there.

Base Game...

Anyone have a problem where the health/stamina bars, etc. in the top left corner go on and off? I have all the HUD options on and that section of the screen is blank except for when I get on or off Roach or if there's a battle.

I want it to stay on. Is this a bug/glitch? Thanks.

argh.. wich armor to choose. i think i will be going for the manticore. i have the viper, used the griffin for a long time and because i am an QUEN sign user, the bear armor would make sense.. but i like the manticore look and story

This expansion trully is huge right?I have only played a few hours and already i am feeling overhwhelmed by all the new sidequests/contracts on top of the main quests just like i was when i first played the game.

I did not expect this

Can you fail the gwint
tournament
quest? Or can you join the
tournament
whenever you want?

Edit: This game is one year old and my quest log is filled with new quests. How awesome is this? Thank you CDPR.

Finally got it... Damn Ghoul card from an innkeeper.

That fucking
dong and jewel thief
quest. The option where you can lend it to him for
1 more day and you can just stand outside his door and hear all the
moaning was hilarious.

I can't answer the second point yet as I haven't started BaW, but the clock glitch has been an issue for a long time now. I miss being able to tell exactly how many hours I lost to this game.

Gonna start Hearts of Stone this evening, can't wait. I held off until both expansions were out so it feels like I get the Witcher 4, very glad I did!

That's the option I went with as well. Wonder what happens if you just "sold it to him". I think the end result would be finding out he died 2 days afterwards ;P

So I think I figured out where my ability to lock on enemies fucked up. If I load a save before you are forced to change your armor in (early side quest name)
The Warble of a Smitten Knight
, I can lock on as normal. Any save after that point, and lock on is just gone, disabled, not working. Something in that quest (I remember thinking it strange that I couldn't lock on during the "boss fight" at the end) screwed it up.

4 fucking hours down the drain.

I've got a weird bug where I can lock on but there's a 50/50 chance when I do Geralt will put his sword away. I thought I had two key bindings set to the same key but nope.

I've got a bug in the brothel where the women don't leave the room so I now have 3 naked women in my room.

Great bug

They go away if your health is full or when you're not in combat.

I think I vised every merchant playing 110 hours in the base game. Were you mostly looking at the sky for 50 hours? :P

I played Gwent with every merchant I visited, which apparently wasn't all of them. I wasn't actively trying to get all of them at the time I was playing and still managed to get most of them. I was just hoping the book would make mop up a little easier.

Just started up Witcher 3. Still have a bit to go on Heart of stone before B&W but man, that background image and music is great!
