The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

Ah okay it's just me being underlevelled then I think.

That fight (like almost all fights against single opponents) is kinda trivial with a strong Quen but it definitely took me longer than that on a way lower difficulty (normal). You must have an extremely well optimized build, although I don't know how I could enhance my build even further since I already have pretty much all the enhancements in terms of attack power you can have I think.

That's my build, haven't messed around with it since HoS.

The key to winning on Deathmarch is also using the right decoctions and potions depending on the enemy type.

Not sure if I am just stupid, but i cant seem to equip the base skellige deck after i get it. It's not listed with the other decks in my game. Is this a glitch, or am i missing something obvious?

Edit: it came up finally after winning a skellige card in a match. Weird.

It's really kind of amazing this game gets all the love from the mainstream and from people who mostly have never touched the books. The expansion so far is hitting book material hard.
Toussaint being largely from the books, meeting Anna Henrietta and having her talk about the incident with Dandelion from the book, the crest choices Geralt has for his heraldry, and mother-fucking Regis.

CDPR are honestly fantastic at bringing players up to speed with prior backstory and making them invest in situations and characters that they may not already be familiar with. I've been reading the Witcher novels on and off since they started getting published in English and it never ceases to surprise me upon replaying the games how many times the books were referenced without my never noticing.

These things are doing so much damage on NG+, I even brought it down to normal since I hadn't touched the game in half a year.

Just finished the warble of a smitten knight quest, and i was curious if anyone got a different ending.
vivienne got her curse cured, but looks to only have seven years left of her life. She also got mad at guillaume and sent him away rather than getting his help.
while a good ending, i was wondering if there were different endings if you
tell Gillaume rather than keep it a secret like she wants.

I got the same result. I was wondering if i should have
investigated the pond beforehand though, felt like Geralt was trying to clue me into it. Also the bird constantly spying on the group makes me think there was more to it than i figured out.

There is in fact another outcome I've discovered,
telling guillaume about the curse right after you see it opens the other method that Gerelt mentions to Vivienne, the thing you have to do is be supportive of Gillaume when he goes to her tent, gotta back him by saying she has to listen to him. This will lead to the other outcome with him taking the curse for her.
Through that outcome
she's saved and he's barely affected by the curse, apparently one of the requirements of curse transfer is true love which is why Gerelt wasn't so sure about it...

Also the "A Knight to remember" achievement seems to be bugged cause even after winning all tournaments I didn't get it... :<

I think seven years free from Guillaume is better than a lifetime bound to his favour!

Damn, is there no way to quickly retry/reload to the
combat part of the tournament?
I lost real badly at that and then boom cutscenes and stuff. It also didn't really have a spot to save beforehand. Bah!

I asked this and no one answered, so I loaded a save from the beginning of quest to test it. If you
immediately tell Guilaume about her curse you can convince her to transfer it to him. If you choose to keep it a secret he isnt aware of its existence until after you cure her by transferring it to the bird.
Edit: Too slow ;_;

Ah, thanks that's sort of what I expected/hoped for. I liked my ending, so i'll stick with it(have gone to far anyway :p). Good to know whrn i come back in a year or sonto replay the game that there would be a different outcomr though.

Did anyone find that
Batman Easter Egg
Yet?

What's the difference between the Potion of Clearance vs the Potion of Restoration?

Cheers. I'm usually just hiding behind quen and doing my best. A build without it seems scary lol. I'll have a look at yours.

By the way quest spoilers early on, I stumbled across a
last of a species of basilisk
quest and have to choose to kill it or not. I don't want to but will I lose out on anything cool? Apart from possibly a trophy I guess. Cheers

Would anyone do NewGame+ after playing this? It seems kind of pointless to me playing through the entire game with the top equipment and never finding anything better. Or is that not how it is?

It won't be the best in NG+ until you get the top equipment version in NG+. I'm in NG+ now and I'm level 75, what are you level 40? Eventually the gear in NG+ will be better. I mean, there isn't any new gear in NG+ that's unique to that game mode. NG+ is just harder and you'll outlevel that gear eventually.

I can't beat these fucking living statues. They just kill me in 4 attacks and with 2 mages spamming spells constantly and 4 spear wielders I'm getting hit everytime I try to attack. What is with the balance on NG+?

I reinstalled TW3 so I had a clean install for B&W after not playing for a couple of months, but all of a sudden I'm having insane loading times! I'm talking Around 50 seconds each time I die. This didn't use to happen before iirc. My system is still the same (new 34" 21:9 monitor coming from a 16:9 monitor), and should be pretty good. (GTX980ti, 16gb ram, Intel I5-6600), and I just don't understand why I'm having these long loading times now.

Is it a well known issue from one of the latest patches? Or from B&W itself?

Getting an odd issue with colourful squares blinking in and out every now and then. Can't find much information on the issue - someone suggested turning off Vsync, but I'm using a FreeSync monitor and so never have it enabled anyway. I updated to the latest Crimson driver, but they're still appearing.

Anyone have this issue before?

During the Tourney quest,
Sir Gregoire of Mount Gorgon
has to be a reference to
Gregor the Mountain
from
A song of Ice and Fire
right? I mean he even has his physique

GoG version? If so, try disabling the GoG overlay if it's enabled.

Kind of freaking out, started a new playthrough on Death March, I'm level 13 at the momenbt and I'm using the new Gwent book to track down all of the gwent cards. It says I'm missing 6 cards in Velen but I have the 4 unique cards and I've talked to every merchant that sells cards twice(checked video guides and a written guide to be sure).

I got the buggy merchant in Claywich as well.

Is there a version of the debug console that works with the latest patch yet? I need the Eye of Nahelani to get the Griffin School schematics but don't have it.

GAF, for everyone playing on the PS4:
Try rebuilding your console's database. It helps alot fixing bugs caused by large patches.
Just enter safe mode and select rebuild database. It takes a couple of minutes; it's like a defrag.

The Gwent book is garbage, i just bought 3 cards in Novigrad and it took 2 off of Novigrad and 1 off Velen.

Some cards are available in multiple places, in which case it would knock the one off the list that you would be expected to find first. Because you are retroactively collecting cards you can expect to see this again, its not a bug and works as intended.

Not saying its a bug, its just not helpful. I spent an hour scouring Velen, was going to write off my save as screwed for the gwent trophy.

My God, the new area is incredibly beautiful, so goddamn exciting. I'm also way too poor from my expenses in the last expansion, wanted to upgrade my vineyard but boy will it take a while. Hoping that there are a good number of witcher contracts to do, or at least a lot of side quests with monetary compensation.

need help with some side quests. pretty sure they're glitched, but want to make sure i'm not missing something

the inconstant gardener -
i found the red bag near the little roof's pillar. says to search the workshop but there's no more red objects and both doors in the area are locked.

around the world in...eight days -
says to find the sunken wagon in the lake. i found the one half submerged in the water on the shore and looted the red chest around it. still not complete.

but other than that, how did you enjoy the play? -
says to drink wine to finish the scene. i drank some from my inventory, drank some by putting it in the item slot. no go. does any wine work or do i need to find an item just named "wine" and not any of the named bottles you collect? specific place to drink it? i tried in the circle, near the corpse.

Copying myself from performance thread:

So are the weird bright blue lines on the Kaer Morehn armor appearing everyone? They're on the bottom of the jacket too.
