The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

man the new mutations are great, i have over 200 toxicity with 3 decoctions and the euphoria mutation gives 0,75% damage increase per toxicity point lol

I played through the main game and HOS never using oils or decoctions wow, why did I do that??

Now I feel like I need to use a guide to get all of the diagrams

Is it me or the Gwent guide is almost useless? Still can't find where the damn cards I need are. Just telling me how many are left per zone isn't enough.

Does anyone know where to find Enriched Dimeritium Plate and Infused Slyzard Hide for the Grandmaster Armors? The smith doesn't sell enough and i need more

I already like the characters introduced early into the game. this is going to be great just judging by side quests so far.

new mutations dont really work like they say :( , aard should do extra 4300 dmg but it only does 800. theres another that should reflect dmg times 3 but doesnt

This horse racing segment is impossible

It even ended while I still had time left, which pissed me off to no end. I loaded up the checkpoint and tried again, and this time slowed to a canter or even a trot when dealing with the targets you had to hit with your sword, then galloping on. I finished with almost a full bar of time left.

During the Tourney quest,
Sir Gregoire of Mount Gorgon
has to be a reference to
Gregor the Mountain
from
A song of Ice and Fire
right? I mean he even has his physique

That's my take from it, as well. Also the majordomo's name is
Barnabus-Basil Foulty, an obvious reference to Basil Fawlty of Fawlty Towers
. Listen to the merchants near the arena as well for a Monty Python reference, specifically Life of Brian when he's trying to sell awful-sounding snacks.

Copying myself from performance thread:

So are the weird bright blue lines on the Kaer Morehn armor appearing everyone? They're on the bottom of the jacket too.
dat stylish blue thread

Anybody know what level you will typically be towards the end of this? I'm 42 now and I just unlocked the mutation system. I'm kinda afraid of running out of ability points (it seems like you need a lot of them to unlock mutations) before getting to the more interesting ones.

Haven't seen any contract beyond Level 50 yet so that's really not a lot of ability points left. Would be different if I had started this at only Level 34 or so....

Yeah, it states I have one in white orchard and I can't figure out where. If it's unattainable I wish it would say so.

Best looking game on the PS4. Places you can actually explore in view, not just background stuff.

Yeah I'm about to start B&W at 40 and my build uses nearly all my ability points...may end up respecing again.

Man I really don't know whether to do New Game + after doing this. Main cons of NG+ are no new gear, diminished sense of progress, and having tons of useless baggage that I have to replace like the Witcher gear sets.

But then again the idea of not having all the abilities and cool stuff that I'll get like mutations is kind of a drag.

How can you respec? I feel like I wasted a bunch of points in abilities I don't need.

I'd like to know as well. I feel I put way too many points into signs and not enough into combat skills.

You can buy a Potion of Clearance from a Novigrad merchant, he's right before the big bridge to the upper class northern part, has his own indoor shop. Costs 1000 points, gives you all ability points back.

Interesting. So you could get all your points back and then go completely nuts on the mutations.

My dear friend
Does the letter change in any way depending on your relationship to her?

mine felt rather romantic in tone. She ends the letter by signing it "Your Triss"

While no new gear is found, all the old gear is scaled, so you should be finding armor that replaces your best armor in the base game.

For the skellige gwent collect-a-thon quest, do you have to make certain progress in the main story? I'm trying to get the last one, and it looks like it's locked behind a door close to The Gran's Place.

Ah, thanks that's sort of what I expected/hoped for. I liked my ending, so i'll stick with it(have gone to far anyway :p). Good to know whrn i come back in a year or sonto replay the game that there would be a different outcomr though.

I went for the first option and happy with my results. Spoilers for that quest....
Vivienne's condition was none of the knight's business. She specifically asks Geralt to never disclose the condition of her curse to anyone else, so I abided by her wish. Guillaume is a stranger to her and Geralt ain't a snitch...lol. She doesn't owe that knight a god damn thing. Let her live her own life, even it's shortened.

There are three versions of that particular thing:

1: You didn't end up with anyone and get a colder letter from Yen starting with 'Dear Friend'.
2. You romanced Yen and get a more romantic letter starting with 'Dearest'.
3. You romanced Triss and get a similar letter to number 2.

Can't believe F
ringilla
isn't in B&W either. She really got screwed.

Not by Geralt this time. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

So, I'm guessing you need to upgrade your vineyard before getting NPC visits? Anyone knows if it's something that happens frequently? Do they stay for long? Anything interesting with that mechanic?

2 hours in but story feels so boring so far. is anyone else feels the same?
i had same hype-level with hearts of stone but i am kinda 'meh' now when thinking about playing the blood and wine.

To answer my own question

I managed to craft these items by buying some more rare stuff and in the end it was enough to complete the whole grandmaster set.

It cost me close to 30000+ in total...

The reason is not having a valid character to do so and overall not wanting to commit that much time to this game

Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine both allow you to start at new characters at appropriate level. If there's a possibility you might play both, you're best off starting with a new character for Hearts of Stone so you're not diminishing part of the experience by being forced to ignore certain content.

I've only completed the first act of the main quest and I'd have to agree with it being a bit boring, but the side content is SOOOOO good.

I think the story is even more interesting than the main game and HoS so far. And I've only played the first two main missions, lol.

Whoever designed this
elven living statue
sidequest fight should honestly be fired. Did they even play test this on deathmarch? Not to mention the ridiculous load times on PS4 is making it 1000x worse.

Do you have axii upgraded to where you can get an ally? That made it go from frustratingly difficult to laughably easy for me at least.

Nope, I actually almost got it on my first trying but I didn't kill 1 of the
mages
right away and she killed me near the end. Now whenever I spawn in I usually get hit once... and it brings me down to like 10% hp.

Didn't have any problems with this, felt like shadow of yharnam witcher edition.

That sucks. It was giving me a hard time as well. Sorry :/

Lol. I had a real tough time with them as well ^^;

i can't download update 1.20, it's stuck at preparing to download (10%), i looked that up and it's a common problem, any one knows a solution for this ?? i tried deleting the update and re-download but still did not work

This game is so good looking, that at times I can't believe I'm playing it, but holy crap are most of the dyes ridiculous as fuck. You can easily make Geralt look as goofy as Dandelion. I haven't messed around too much with the dyes, but I hope there are darker versions of some of the colors.

I wanted to make Geralt look cold blue to match the awesome piercing cold Aard, but he just looks like a blueberry.

Who else in here a bear bro?

We have the best armor god damn

Here's a quick screen I took of my Grandmaster Ursine, dyed red with black gloves :D

I'm new to the game entirely, what's the best way to rack up gold?

So mild location spoilers
If you go all the way north you can find a bandit camp with a billion guys. You have to kill runners and stuff before they get to the signal fire and get reinforcements. You kill their leader and it'll wipe that bandit gang off the map. Also if you take on smaller surrounding camps it'll mean there's less bandits guarding the main one. But basically they all drop shitty swords and clubs which you can sell for a decent amount.

It's seriously probably 1 of the cheapest things I've ever experienced in a game lol. Right when I spawn I try to back step as quick as I can or the spear guy hits me once and knocks me down to 10% hp, then immediately I get hit by 1 of the
mages
and I'm dead. I keep having to wait like 2-3mins per load because I get combo'd to death before any inputs even get to Geralt.

I really regret selling this a few months back....now I'm conflicted on whether I should repurchase it on the PS4 or on Steam :-/
