The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

I'm doing the Wine Wars sidequest and I've got an optional objective
"Search Vermentino for evidence of sabotage".
Anyone know where exactly I should look? The sub-objective doesn't have a pointer or an area of interest like usual.

Start doing her quest as well.

You'll find what you need once you have cleared the five objectives for both of them. More pay as well! But as another member stated, make sure to complete the woman's first.
The woman's side will
expand the quest to provide more detail on the problem.

Damn the music for the tourney boss and when you're riding with Henrietta are too good.

Also has anyone been using Mastercraft Cat gear and upgraded it to Grandmaster? Does it make a big difference (esp. on Death March)?

Also I haven't done the new mutagen/signs quest, which ones are really worth it? The Aard freeze?

I've only unlocked the first melee one, but I'd say it's worth dumping points into the mutatations because it also gives you more slots to equip skills. So you aren't just limited to the 12.

Mancomb
ahaha, it took me a few sec, but I love it!

Got a Mutagen Mutator alchemy scroll and I have no idea how to use it. Doesn't show up for me at all in the alchemy menu.

Kind of sad that this is the conclusion to Geralt's story. I would've loved to see more mini-expansions set in other parts of the Witcher universe; perhaps within Kaweden, Zerrikania, or Nilfgaard.

Oh, the description of them made me think they were mutually exclusive and finishing one would lock me out of the other. Thanks!

It won't be the best in NG+ until you get the top equipment version in NG+. I'm in NG+ now and I'm level 75, what are you level 40? Eventually the gear in NG+ will be better. I mean, there isn't any new gear in NG+ that's unique to that game mode. NG+ is just harder and you'll outlevel that gear eventually.
Kind of confused how this can work, so NewGame+ plus gives you gear that's better/higher level than Witcher Grandmaster armor from the first play? Or can Witcher armor be crafted again?

I'm curious to hear the answer to this as well. I just assumed that all of the Witcher sets would be available again (through the treasure hunt quests etc), just 30 levels higher.

I plan to go back and do a Deathmarch run through the vanilla game at some point, but still haven't decided whether it would be easier to start a new game for it, or do New Game + after completing the expansions. I expect the early going in DM New Game + will be much easier after doing the expansions first (due to the extra levels), but I worry that the end game stuff could get stupid hard compared to a brand new Deathmarch play through.

Dont worry, CDPR is now working on Cyberpunk a game 10x larger than Witcher or some crazy obscene shit they promised but god help em

I came into B&W thinking, "well, I just finished Dark Souls and I'm way into Overwatch, now's probably the worst time to get back into the Witcher, it'll be way too slow".

God damn was I wrong. It's so compelling and engaging, I'm immediately re-enthralled with that world and its characters.

Also, anyone know how to get my hands on some Manticore armor?

You'll find Legendary Witcher gear at the same point (plus 30 levels) and place in NG+, so you'll end up playing the game the same, probably using your NG Grandmaster gear until you start getting Legendary Witcher gear, just like you thought.

I think you're correct on the second point as well. I found that death march NG started pretty hard early (Griffin took forever to kill, and the wraiths during the Baron quest were tough as hell), but then things went fine after that. If you get hit, it hurts, but you can kill most things pretty quickly, even bosses. My DM NG+ run started much easier, but eventually things started to have large health pools, so it was a little rougher, especially with a build that didn't pump out sword damage. The HoS bosses were actually pretty easy, though (minus one), since they each have ways to counter them effectively, while the end game vanilla bosses just seemed to take a million hits to kill.

Had my first run in with The Beast and now I'm exploring Beauclair proper for the first time. Everything has been top notch so far, from the pacing of the mystery to the combat encounters to the new environments and customs of Toussaint.

So many interesting side quests keep popping up, most everything seems worth pursuing. And really impressed with the improvements to the interface in all aspects. Still early but I'm already sucked back in, didn't even boot up Overwatch once tonight
yet

Anyone with weird stutters on PC?

Came out of nowhere and now unplayable.

not sure about unplayable but all i can offer is i think they did something to the Texture and Water settings in the game. So if you were playing on higher settings for them you may want to consider dropping to high or medium.

You with AMD? What drivers are you on?

Nvidia actually. 980. Just updated to the latest.

Good idea. I think I will start at the lowest settings, and see if I can eliminate my way to solving it.

Thanks for those thoughts RandomSeed, that was really helpful. I might just start a fresh game for my DM run.

Welp, I started over again on Death March (NG+) so it's gonna be a long time till I see this new content. Absolutely loving the new inventory, though. Without it it would have been too much of a hassle playing Death March as finding the right decoctions, bombs and potions was a massive chore. I barely touched them first time through.

The game is almost better on a second playthrough, as I don't have the horrible 10 hour learning curve that almost made me give up the game for good the first time I played. It's incredible how clueless I was at first.

Although one thing made me laugh. I started on Blood and Broken Bones originally way back at launch, and literally could not beat the first pack of wolves. Drove me crazy. Died 100s of times after that, too, until I turned the difficulty down and said 'fuck the combat'. This time, I died to that same pack five times in a row! And I was thinking, 'Welp, Death March is NOT going to be for me. Maybe I really don't know what I'm doing.' But I powered through it... and everything since then has been a piece of piss, all the way past Kiera Metz's quest lines. So I'm feeling real good about my skills... then I run into a random pack of wolves in Velen and they tear me to shreds.

I'm laughing my damn ass off - what is it about the damn wolf packs in this game?!? (I no longer get frustrated, it's all good fun now.)

But honestly I'm thinking this might be my favourite video game of all time at this stage. It's almost incomprehensibly good. It's the game I dreamed about at night when playing Ocarina of Time back in 1998. It's a masterpiece.

There are NG+ versions of the armor and weapons that exist in NG, it's scaled up for NG+. Eventually the stuff you wear from NG will be replaced.

NG+ on death march is definitely harder than NG. Everything just has a lot more health in relation to the damage you are doing than they do in NG. Though once you get Grandmaster gear in NG+ in Blood and Wine, that gear is pretty OP and haven't really struggled with the expansion.

So I'm at a loss, and basically deciding what I should. The gwent book shows I am missing a card in white orchard, and it still shows the quest active, meaning it has not failed yet. I bought all the cards from the innkeeper, I beat the guy in the inn, and I got the cards from the rescued merchant. I was planning on working towards the plat trophy, and I'm already 30 plus hours into this play through. I'm now trying to figure out if I should restart...or hope it's a bug.

I suppose I could restart, but damn, I really want some verification on this! Help me?

Just started it.
Lady of the Lake
??? Holy shit haha
The new place seems amazing so far, but I'm all about that Gwent
And damn, the reworked menus are awesome...

Yeah my 60k gold is gone. Vineyard upgrades+Grandmaster Wolf set+greater glyphs and runes=the poor house

Thankfully, Manticore set only requires old materials. It should be attainable for most players

This DLC is very throwback to Witcher 1 and 2. Fighting enemies from the first game and an enemy that is extremely similar to a secret boss in 2.

Damn, working all week, wish I had time. Maybe in the morning when I get off.

Hit level 19, going to go to Skelliege when I hit 20. Downloaded both expansions last night and holy shit at that Blood and Wine main menu. Love that trailer so much, awesome to see it touched on in the actual game.

La Cage Au Fou quest spoilers:

Holy shit. The beggar who cursed Marlene was Gaunter O'Dimm?? I read the note on the spoon in the house and it said something about a man who sold mirrors, and I thought to myself what if that was O'Dimm? He even killed that guy with a spoon in Hearts of Stone. I had my suspicions that it was him but I couldn't be sure. Then later on after you lift the curse and talk to your butler at Corvo Bianco about Marlene, the HoS theme starts playing while Geralt is talking. Basically confirms it. That was such a great fucking moment. What a game.
