Why would a Goku/Frieza fusion look like Goku? I think it will have something to do with the Kais...maybe afraid of Beerus in the future...

I dunno. He doesn't seem to have any signs of fusion, and looks exactly like himself, except with the earrings. But considering they've basically put Frieza in this show twice already, I wouldn't be surprised if they did it a third time.

That may be true, but that doesn't explain why the DB manga didn't do this, but the DBS anime does.

But they wouldnt need to do that, since Old Kai can do the same thing without the Potaras...maybe its Goku seperated by his bad side, who he then had to fight only to be somehow being tricked into fusioning with Bad Goku taking control...well we will see....

I was under the impression that alternate universes don't literally have alternate versions of characters, just wholly different characters who fit similar molds.

I'm starting to think this really is U6 Trunks and not Future Trunks. They said it was the same character but maybe they meant "a" Future Trunks and not "the" Future Trunks, or didn't specify what they meant by Future Trunks. Technically he's a returning character regardless. The blue hair, green potaras on Black Goku, and younger Mai are throwing me off.
It's not. The promo art says something about the future was supposed to be at peace.

Assuming Black Goku is the actual Goku from Future Trunk's timeline,
then how the hell was he able to come back to life? I really doubt it was cause of New Namek. At worst I wanna throw out the possibility that it could be another god damn android from Dr Gero. Built like Cell but took much longer to create. Guess we'll find out in 2 weeks.

Universe 6 has a war ravaged Earth. What if the Earthlings stood up and fought against this Oozaru/Black Goku? Black Goku and Goku both have the same personality treat. They BOTH want to get stronger and seek out stronger opponnents. The "other" Trunks might be the Future Trunks we all remember. He could travel in-time so he might know what's coming. Could explain his apparent return. There's been many hints that could explain that Black Goku came from Universe 6. Cabba vs Vegeta, for example. Both firing a Gallick Gun despite this being Vegeta's signature move. Hell, you might even have a Black Vegeta (who will be 100% pure, like U7 Goku) ... quote me when the new saga airs lol
